Are y’all on Instagram? The Southern Weddings ladies are! We love how easy it makes sharing photos! Lately, we’ve been breaking out our phone to share everything from the cool packages we get in the mail to what we made for dinner. Here’s a little peek into what’s been going on behind the scenes with the Southern Weddings ladies, in and out of the office.

1. Memorial Day makes us so grateful, especially Lara whose husband, father and grandfather all served our country.

2. We finally got around to decorating our office with beautiful images from our past issues.

3. Warmer weather meant the perfect conditions for Lara’s church to hold an outdoor service.

4. I love my friends who sport vintage truckers hat from rural Kentucky to our rooftop brunch.

5. Stacks and stacks of boxes came in full of V5 goodies!

6. I brushed up on my cornhole game at a friend’s backyard graduation party.

7. Emily’s wedding bracelet. “I found it in my Mom’s stash when I was home last week!”

8. Emily donned her press pass as she headed into her third National Stationery Show! (She brought back tons of paper goodies, y’all.)

9. We gushed over these sparklers that our reader models will be donning for some V5 shoots!

10. Marissa was running late to a baseball game and rocked giant velcro rollers in the car. “I’m sure Southern girls understand the importance of big hair!”

11. Marissa’s ring was at the jeweler because a diamond fell out, so she tried on her grandmother’s vintage for size. Um, we love it!

12. The fair came to town and Marissa and a few of the baseball boys went to the petting zoo. “Don’t tell my husband I think the baby goats are adorable! He wants to buy one!!”

We hope you had an great month, y’all! What were some of your highlights?

Biggest highlight was having my wedding published on y’alls site! I also loved putting together some dining furniture with the hubs, spending money on the Webster Miami for Target line, going to Destin with some of my best buddies, visiting Corey’s best friend in Dallas (for a Dave Matthews concert), AND going to an M83 concert! Whew!

Hi ladies! How exciting is this??? Our very first reader model call for V5! We’ve had so much success casting readers in fabulous settings in the past that you just know we were itching to do it again.

As you may recall, we featured several sets of readers in V4. We hosted eight readers in Charleston:

We met three more lovely belles in Williamsburg…

And we finally met up with two more young ladies – and a polo-playing groom! – in Charleston.

This time, we’re actually shooting outside the South, in upstate New York! Northerners and transplanted Southerners, this is your chance!

If you’re free for a Monday, May 21 adventure in Vernon, NY, we’d love for you to email a head shot (doesn’t have to be professional, just a good shot of your face!), a few recent candids, and your height to howdy at iloveswmag.com.

We are looking for a bride and groom pair, and several bridesmaids! In return, we promise gorgeous photos by a certain fabulous photographer, and, of course, a chance to be a part of Southern Weddings history!

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Hi Sarah! It’s actually a skirt + top combo! The skirts are from Anne M. Cramer (http://www.annemcramer.com/), and the top is from Victoria’s Secret!

Hi Lorri! We will probably begin looking through the submissions next week, and then depending on our options, will make a choice then or cast a wider net! Thanks so much for your interest!!

Just like Tuesday was all about our Paper, Cotton, and Flour feature, today is all about our fabulous Charleston polo shoot! Before we reveal the final images, photographer Leigh Webber is here to give you a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of a print feature on a hot and sticky August day!

How about the SUV corral? There’s a reason wedding vendors (and editors) drive big cars — we have a lot of stuff to haul around!

We had a much bigger crew than usual at this shoot, which meant lots of consultations amongst different groups. Which kind of translates to lots of standing around in photos, but I promise, we were working hard!

Meanwhile, Barry from Blossoms Events, our florist for the day, was hard at work pulling together gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces.

In another corner of the polo field, Emilie Dulles, Nicole, and a few other helpers were prepping the escort card display.

A selection of sparkling flatware and glassware was lined up and waiting. We typically bring more than we can use in order to have options!

When the table was finally ready to set, we had one highly unusual step: dirtying the polo balls. Yes, Caitlin, Calder’s intrepid assistant, actually spit on our polo balls then rolled them in the mud to give them an authentic layer of dirt and dust. All in a day’s work, folks!

With all the pretties prepped and ready, it was time to begin shooting! Yes, these were two of the actual cameras Bryan was using:

Pretty neat, huh? Here’s the man himself in action:

Meanwhile, inside the house, our professional model (the bride for the day) as well as two lovely Southern Weddings readers were getting prepped by Pamela Lesch and Tanesha Dupree.

Once the gals were beautified, we headed out to the field to shoot!

Everything was going great until we had to climb over a fence… and one of us was in a ball gown. Our model handled it like a champ, though! Still, these might be my favorite behind-the-scenes images :)

A half an hour or so later, and we were ready to call it quits! Here’s a small portion of our shoot crew, and the SW ladies on the bottom.

A HUGE thank you to Leigh Webber for coming out and taking these amazing behind-the-scenes images!! Be sure to check back soon for the full feature. In the meantime, check out this fun BTS video, also put together by Leigh!

These bridesmaid’s outfits are probably the cutest ones I have EVER seen. I was so sad that I didn’t discover that back in March when we picked out what my girls are wearing!
