What’s New in 2009?

by in News on

A LOT! The details:  We’ll be updating the Real Weddings and Details galleries, adding to the It List (lots of amazing pros to add!), adding to our Links We Love, getting the Southern Bride Bloggers section up and running, starting our Top Southern Photographers feature, and “Ask The Experts” section where you can get top advice from the pros, adding a slew of new fabulous vendors to our Wedding Resources, adding the “Editor’s Picks” to the Wedding Resources, and SO much more.  We have lots of amazing guest bloggers lined up for 2009 and even bigger and better contests.  We have such an exciting year ahead for you, dear readers!

For wedding pros:  We’ll be changing the site size to fit all monitors (shrinking things a bit, but it will work much better for the ads on both sides!), ads will rotate with every page refresh, we’re adding a forum for Southern wedding pros to get to know each other and share ideas, as well as a long list of fun surprises we will announce over the next weeks.

And we are SOOOOO excited to be adding two new members to our team in next week: Lindsey and Amanda!  Formal intros to follow, but give them both a big warm Southern Weddings welcome!

Christen described her proposal from Benji as “simple but perfect“.  Well, Christen + Benji’s wedding also reflected the same theme of simple but perfect.  Details: bridal gown by {Vera Wang}, bride’s shoes by {Valentino}, venue location {Ojai Valley Inn & Spa}, floral and design by {Square Root}, wedding planning by {Mint Julep Social Events}, videography {Elysium} and cake by La Star.  {Skye Blue Photography} submitted this stunning wedding to us.  To see more check out their {Blog}

*Side note: If one of the groomsmen looks familiar to you it is because it is NBC’s own {Milo Ventimiglia} of Heroes fame.  Milo is a childhood friend of Benji’s!

    What a beautiful wedding. Great work on the photography. The couple did a fantastic job choosing the details of their wedding. Everything looked absolutely amazing in the pictures. Two things that I like the most: the cake, which is simple yet striking, and the venue, which is very charming. Thanks for the wonderful post.

    It is always a pleasure to see the final results of a couple’s choices. This was a beautiful event congratulations to Christen and Benj, and thier co-ordinator. All those decisions resulted in a wonderful, memorable time for everyone. Many blessings on your future together.
