My sixth and final National Stationery Show recap contains some SUPER Southern gems. Let’s get started!

I just about died and went to Southern heaven when I walked into the Belle & Union booth! It was their first time exhibiting, and they sure bowled me over. Expect to see a lot more of this Southern goodness coming at you over the next few months!

Of course, old favorites are always nice to see, too, like our talented friends at Rifle Paper Co! Did I tell you that they designed my future sister in law’s wedding invitations? They did, and they were beautiful!

Up next was May Books, another new one to me. I loved their colorful patterned covers, and their motto – “life is too short for ugly notebooks.” Indeed! These customizable gems would make another great bridesmaid gift.

I was so excited to get to the Fig. 2 Design booth, not only because I love Claudia’s invitations and stationery, but because we had recently been corresponding about a fun collaboration for V5! You’ll have to wait until the fall for the reveal, but it’s goooood!

I loved this sweet little ribbon and gold shimmery backdrop at the Great Lakes Goods booth.

Don’t you love traveling halfway across the country only to meet someone from the next town over? That’s what happened with This Paper Ship, one of my favorite new exhibitors! Their booth was so cute, and I loved that they’re our Chapel Hill neighbors.

I thought this month-by-month watercolor calendar from Fine Day Press was especially beautiful.

As always, Dear Hancock had some beautiful hand-drawn and watercolored cards, but I especially liked their new product, the stand-in peony, which is meant to sit on your desk when you can’t have fresh flowers! Such a sweet idea!

The fill-in card for the year you were married was my favorite design at the Double Bravo booth. Again, such a great frame-able keepsake!

Flywheel Press was showing an assortment of adorable and just plain cool cards. I’m not even sure how those metallic, ombre-looking cards were printed, but they were really neat!

Last but most certainly not least was Rebecca from Wild Ink Press. I loved her sweet + cute greeting cards! Also, her business cards were THE COOLEST.

And that concludes my coverage of the 2012 National Stationery Show! I hoped you enjoyed seeing all the paper goodness that was on display this year. Let’s give one last huge thank you to Cyn Kain, who snapped all of these photos for your viewing pleasure!

In the Southern Weddings office, we’re quite smitten with all things signature drink-related, especially when it comes to styling them. (Just check out our office parties here and here!) We’ve seen our share of striped paper straws, drink flags and stirrers (though we still adore all of them!), but we’ve yet to see a option as sparkly yet eco-friendly as stainless steel straws.

When Hannah, the president of Essential Safe Products sent over images from her recent wedding and a description of the not-as-wasteful steel straw options, we knew we had a winner!

Image above from Alain Martinez Photography, graphic by me, Nicole!

How adorable would these straws be standing inside mason jars or even daintily propped inside a champagne flute like in Hannah’s wedding? Don’t you want to always drink out of a pretty straw now?

To Enter: There are two ways to enter!
1. Leave a comment below telling us what your signature wedding drink will be!
2. Tweet “I just entered the @Live_ESP giveaway on @iloveswmag!” Then come back here and leave a SEPARATE comment telling us you did so!

Win: Five sets of stainless steel straws from Essential Safe Products for your delicious signature drink!

This giveaway closes on June 13 at midnight. Good luck!

We will be having two signature drinks..Lynchburg Lemonade (made with Jack D) for the groom and a Pink Lemonade Margarita (in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, the day we got engaged) for me! Our ceremony and reception are taking place outdoors in the Florida heat, so what better way to cool down and quench your thirst than a nice cold [spiked] lemonade! :)

  2. avatar Lorri Adair reply

We are doing a spiked minted lemonade!

  3. avatar Mary Ann reply

Both of our names start with the letter M so we are having personalized Mojitos and Margaritas! The wedding is taking place on the Texas/Mexico boarder and my fiance is Puerto Rican so it all works!

  4. avatar Kristyn reply

We haven’t completely decided what we will be doing for the drinks yet but I am leaning towards having a bourbon bar for the guys and a cocktail bar for the ladies. If we don’t do that, we will do at least 2 signature drinks! I would love to use these in either mason jars or mint julep cups!

  5. avatar Kristyn reply

    I tweeted about it! @fireflycarolina

A mojito! That is our favorite drink and I couldn’t imagine the day without one :)

My best friend is getting married soon and their signature drink is sweet tea in mason jars. These straws would be so fun and would glam things up a bit!

My signature drink would be sweet tea vodka and lemonade!! love the straws!

We’re not having a signature drink; per se, but we are having a bourbon tasting bar! Bourbon (neat) is my fiancé’s drink of choice, and he’s so excited to be able to share some of his favorite small batches with all our guests.

We’ll be having margaritas (it’s what he drank on our first date and I thought he was weird) and sweet tea vodka with lemonade. We plan to have catchy names for them, but that’ll come later! :)

My fiancé is a sweet, southern Georgia gentleman so we will be having a sweet tea for him and a champagne drink for me. We also will be having a champagne brunch the morning after with everyone where we will be serving a wonderful pomegranate champagne punch as well as a variety of options for mimosas. These straws would be too cute!

  19. avatar Bre reply

We are so excited for our signature cocktails!

His name is Ben and my name is Bre so our signature cocktails are going to be the “Ben and Tonic” and the “Bretini” after our favorite drinks :)

  20. avatar Megan reply

Our signature cocktail would have to be the Final Ward, a twist on the Last Word: equal parts rye whiskey, green chartreuse, maraschino, and lemon juice. Hearty yet fresh, and pairs well with stainless steel!

  21. avatar Sara reply

Not finalized but probably doing both vodka and sweet tea and vodka pink lemonade with pink straws as signature drinks…in a mason jar of course! So cute…do thy come in pink? :)

Being a Southern Girl myself, I vote for Taylor and Zach Wedding at the Cotton Plantation.

We are having His and Hers signature drinks, usually because I think signature drinks tend to be on the girly side. His will be Jack Daniels on the rocks (we will have mixers for guests who choose to do so), but we are still working on mine!

  24. avatar Katie S. reply

I’m still deciding on my signature drink, but my fiance has requested Transfusions! It’s the perfect summer drink and a specialty at the country club where we’re having our reception– vodka, sprite, and a splash of grape juice! yummy!

  25. avatar Shannon reply

My signature cocktail will be a blood orange champagne cocktail with a sugared rim – anyone who knows me knows that I am crazy for champagne cocktails!

  26. avatar Meg S reply

I don’t know yet! I’m thinking about doing some variation of the Honey Badger.

  27. avatar Kristen reply

We are doing an English traditional Pimms No1 Cup to coordinate with our English country theme.

  28. avatar lena reply

Since we’re planning a brunch wedding, I’ll be sipping on a Corpse Reviver No. 2–it’s a classic morning cocktail and one of my favorites any time of day!

  29. avatar cathy steiner reply

Our signature drink for the Big Day will be top shelf Margaritas! We are using Cabo Wabo tequila (my favorite), and have ordered various fruit purees for guests who wish to add a twist to their classic. We’re calling it a “McKnight-A-Rita” since that is our new shared surname :)

More paper to finish off the day!

Like Figs & Ginger, Printerette Press was one of my favorite new discoveries in 2011. They didn’t disappoint in 2012, especially because they debuted their new wedding line! I loved the sweet illustrations.

Wednesday was one of my favorite new booths at the show this year, and its co-owner, Jessica, stood out for her smiley ways! I loved the blue gingham suite Cyn snapped, above.

The custom coasters at the Haute Papier booth caught my eye. These would be so perfect for favors – just scatter them on tables at cocktail hour!

These pretty patterned fabric totes were a new offering from Southern Weddings favorite Chewing the Cud this year. I think we need a whole wall of these in the SW office, don’t you? They’d be great for bridesmaid gifts, too!

Sugar Paper LA had the sweetest cards this year. I loved their minimalist style and use of pretty metallic foils!

These Southern instrument art prints from Wildhorse Press were awesome! Biscuits and banjos, anyone? The same prints also come in a notecard set!

The Permanent Collection had a few Southern-themed cards on display!

One Canoe Two is always one of my favorite booths – I wanted one of everything they had on display! I love the soft vintage colors so much. There was lots of tweeting going on at this booth :)

To finish for the day, I wanted to share with you the gorgeous Mr. Boddington’s Studio booth (love those giant paper flowers!) and my favorite new product that they debuted, their calligraphy marriage certificates. Such a beautiful keepsake to frame, and extremely reasonably priced, too – I can’t remember the exact amount, but I think it was about $30-$35. Love!

More tomorrow, friends!

As usual, a huge thank you to Cyn Kain for snapping all of these lovely photos!
