My future hubby and I are most looking forward to taking communion together during our ceremony. It will be the first thing that we do as official husband and wife. Can’t wait :)

We are most excited for my future hubby’s grand arrival with his groomsmen. They are entering via boat! Our venue is overlooking Tampa Bay and has a large dock! He plans to be standing at the front of the boat with his friends standing behind him as they pass our ceremony site and head to dock a few yards away!

  4. avatar Rhian reply

The future hubs and I are most excited about the exit! We are working hard to find the perfect music and to turn to all the happy faces of our friends and family!

We are most looking forward to our first look!! We can’t wait to see each other for the first time on our wedding day and spend a little bit of time together before the ceremony and the reception begin.

  6. avatar Kristyn M reply

We are most looking forward to our vows. We have been having a wonderful time planning and we are so excited to celebrate with our family and friends but without those vows, it means nothing. I can’t wait to pledge my commitment to him forever!

  7. avatar Camilla reply

The first dance! We are keeping the song top secret…we know it’ll make our guests smile and us cry. When we’re hanging out sometimes we spontaneously start humming it to each other. Can’t wait to finally share that moment as husband and wife!

  8. avatar Meghan reply

We are both most excited about doors to the cathedral opening at the start of our ceremony–and having that first look at each other from down the aisle. I cant wait for him to see my dress–its the one thing he really has no clue about. I think it will be such a magical moment!!!

  9. avatar April reply

My daddy passed away 3 years ago to cancer and he will be missed more than I can say on our wedding day. Not only could my daddy sing but he had an amazing voice, he also loved himself a hymn on Sunday mornings. Shortly before he passed away he was able to sing two of his favorites during a service and the church recorded it for us. To make sure my daddy is very much apart of this celebration we have decided to have him “sing” at our wedding and play him singing “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. We both agree this will be one of the most special moments of our ceremony.

  10. avatar Kelly reply

AFD & I are most looking forward to taking communion together as husband and wife during our ceremony!!!! In addition to the spiritual and symbolic significance of the event, it’ll be extra-special because one of our very dear friends will be playing “I Surrender All” on violin as we partake in it. Cannot wait!

  11. avatar Lindsay reply

Definitely the vows. We will be writing our own and combining those with traditional vows. I can’t wait to make that commitment before God, our families and friends.

  12. avatar Paige reply

When I walk down the aisle — we’ve decided not to do a first look, so this will be the big moment :)

  13. avatar RachelC reply

Oh I can’t wait to see his face as I walk down the aisle but I’m also really looking forward to hearing our priest say “What God has joined, let no man divide” and knowing that we’re sealed together for life.

  14. avatar Amy reply

I am most looking forward to the moment when the doors to the chapel open, my dad is at my side and I begin to hear the trio play Canon in D. As a little girl, I played the violin and this was my very favorite song to play. The music, combined with the love from friends and family that will surround me, and the moment when my soon-to-be-husband and I both lock eyes — that is the part of the ceremony we’re most looking forward to. That and the announcement pronouncing us as husband and wife and the first kiss!

  15. avatar Sarah Torrens reply

The part that we’re most looking forward to during our ceremony is when Daddy walks me down the aisle to the alter, lifts my veil, gives me one last smooch and hugs his new son. There will not be a dry eye in the church and we can’t wait for this amazing moment. I’m going to cry right now just thinking about it!!

  16. avatar megan reply

we are most excited about the vows! we are going traditional, but it still is such a special moment!

  17. avatar Kristy reply

We are most looking forward to a moment of quiet together on the way to the reception from the church.

I’m looking forward to walking down the aisle and seeing him watch me come toward him…and reciting our vows to each other!

Southern Fab Finds: Rodeo Glasses

by in Contests, Main on

I think searching for the perfect bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts can be so much fun! Granted, there are times when it can be difficult to tell your best friends just how much you love and appreciate them in gift-form, but then there are other times when you find items that are exactly what you’ve been searching for. The Rodeo Cocktail glasses from Rolf Glass gave me that feeling as soon as I set my eyes upon them. Ain’t nothing more appropriate for a Southern bash than a cowboy and cowgirl cocktail!

Rolf Glass perfectly etches their designs into glassware, including monograms and patterns. We love the cowboy boot, horse, star, and cow that decorate these wares so much we’re giving you the chance to win them!

To Enter: Leave a comment below telling us all about your closet circle of cowboys and girls who will stand next to you at the altar and how they’ve made your life an adventure.

Win: A set of four Rodeo glasses from Rolf Glass!

My ladies and gents are the best family and friends a girl and her groom could ask for…they have stuck by us through thick and thin. They are always willing to lend a shoulder to cry on, even if they say “I told you so” afterwards ;-)

  2. avatar Ashley reply

I truly think my fiance and I have the best group of individuals standing next to us. Our best friends have been shoulders to cry on through illnesses, deaths as well as the people we celebrate the great news and joy of life’s most exciting minutes. No matter what’s going on they lend helping hands and we can always count on them! I couldn’t imagine standing next to my future husband not having our closest friends standing behind us all the way!!!

  3. avatar Hillary reply

The hicks and chicks that will be standing at the altar with my fiance, Mark, and myself are one of a kind, composed of both old and new. Two of closest people in my life, my sisters, will be standing right next to me as my matron and maid of honor. My oldest sister (Matron) is always there to run to for advice with her outlandish attitude. My other sister is someone very close to me whom I have shared a room with since we were in cribs. She is my identical twin, and has always been there through every decision. We have chosen the same college, same major (Nursing), and continue to live together. I could not imagine having someone else as close to me as her! My bridesmaid, one of the most down-to-earth chicks I know, is someone who has come into my life more recently. She is someone I can count on to be there in a flash and give me alternate advice I would have never thought of! As for the guys, the best man will be Mark’s younger brother, Eric. They share a tight bond with identical passions that they enjoy doing together. Even I have been able to create such a strong bond with Eric, who is not usually a sentimental kind of guy. Mark’s other 2 groomsmen will be two very close friends that have also come into his life more recently. Mark and the two boys have very similar aspirations, and are always there to bail one another out when needed. It is almost as if they have known one another forever! The 6 guys and gals that will be standing next to us at the altar with their boots on have been such a major part of our lives, both in the past and present. We could not fathom saying “yee-haw” to a lifelong marriage with any other cowboys and cowgirls standing nearby!

  4. avatar Cat reply

First, these glasses are adorable. My bridal party is awesome. My maid of honor is one of my closest friends from high school . . . we used to get into so much trouble together. The best man is one of the funniest people I have ever met and he is always “on” .. . always saying something crazy and funny. The other two members of our party are my brother and future sister in law. And they know more about us then anyone in the world probably . . . crazy thought.

  5. avatar Ashley Stout reply

OMg…if the contest wasn’t screaming out my name idk what else can. Our theme is very western. we both grew up in very rodeo families. My wonderful maid of honor is my amazing sister. She has been there for me through everything. My wonderful fiances sister will be up there and she is above and beyond my best friend. We have been through some crazy things whether a little intoxicated or sober as can be. My best friend mady will be up there as well. She has almost caused me to go to jail on a handful of times. We have been through so much together including her brother committing suicide seven months ago…I know she is always there for me just like i was there for her during those rough times. And the groomsmen are a handful of a story of there own.

Daddy’s baby girl of 3, so I will have my 2 sisters, my cousin, and a couple childhood friends. My best friend was killed in a terrible 4 wheeler accident, though we are having her on the program and she will be there in between the girls in spirit. They will hold wheat tied together in burlap, each piece of wheat resembles the hillarious moments we have all shared. They have made my planning process a breeze and they absolutely love parties. I have had many showers.. anywhere from Boots & Spurs shower to a Hook, Line, and Sinker shower. My handsome lover has his dad as his best man, his cousin and a few of his closet friends. They are all going to look so stunning in their cowboy boots from Corral Boots, not to mention the cute suspenders that will fit in perfectly. My fiance and his boys know how to cut a rug, I think that is whast they are most looking forward to that night. They’ve been amazing supporters throughout and always tell him how lucky he is, though I believe I am the lucky one.

  7. avatar Katherine reply

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these glasses! My fiance and I are getting married in Austin, so what better fit than the capital of TX? We are incorporating my sister as my Matron of Honor, his cousin as his Best Man, and another one of his cousins as a Groomsmen – because family have been and always will be there for you no matter what. At the end of the day and throughout our lives, they have and always will our best interests at heart. My second bridesmaid is my high school best friend – despite going to different colleges and having completely different circles of friends, I always end up calling her whenever a big life change is about to occur or if I need her advice on clothing. We are practically the same person. My third bridesmaid is my college best friend – we were inseparable throughout the years and even studied abroad in Europe together, sharing our love for travel. Whenever we see each other, it feels like no time has passed. The last person in our wedding party is his groomswoman – she was the one who introduced us and his best friend in college. When I know I can’t be there for him, she can.

  8. avatar Kassi reply

I have grown volunteering and competing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as have all my girls who will be up there with me :-) we started in diapers and cowboy boots, and havent looked back since!

  9. avatar Davonne reply

My best friends, boys and girls will be standing next to me. they are my closest friends from college and we have stayed close through many relationships, moves and new adventures. they are my family.

  10. avatar Christie reply

I love these! As a native Texan, of course I do! My bridal party will be made up of my sisters who, though they are not my real sisters, couldn’t be closer to me than a real sister. And the other is my best friend who has been with me through countless crying phone calls, many road trips and adventures and we can talk about absolutely anything and I love her for it. I couldn’t imagine surviving life without them, let alone my wedding day!

  11. avatar Ally G. reply

We have the most beautiful, fun and amazing bridal party! We each have 8 of our best pals that will be standing next to us on our big day! Fortunately all of our friends have become friends over the past few years and now we all get to hang out together all the time! It so great the my fiance’ and I have the same friends…makes our lives so much easier! We have such great friends that would do anything for us, and in the past, they have! Those glasses are so adorable and totally match our personalities! We’re all cowboys and cowgirls at heart! Hope I win!!

  12. avatar Dara reply

My bridal party is small and comprised of only family and childhood friends which in itself says how they’ve made my life an adventure – they’ve been there through it all! My fiance’s groomsmen are his fraternity brothers, so they’ve been through the pledging process together and have continued to remain close after college. This special group of men and women mean everything to us and I know they’re going to add so many memories and joy to our special day!

  13. avatar Brittany reply

My MOH was my cousin who is really more of the sister I never had. She was there every step of the way, always supporting me and offering help and advice from across the country. She was instrumental in helping with all the finishing details! I don’t know where I’d be without her!

  14. avatar Sergio reply

Southern Fab Finds: Monograms

by in Contests, Main on

One thing we never tire of in the Southern Weddings office is monograms. Just ask Marissa and Whitney, they’ll monogram anything! I must admit, some things like mighty fine with your three initials carved, embroidered or stamped onto it. That must be why we were immediately taken with Southern Proper Monograms.

Southern Proper Monograms offers custom birch wood monograms (single or three-letters) in a wide array of sizes. We can see so many uses for them! Paint them and hang them on the church doors, the backs of your chairs, on the side of pews, the list goes on. What better way to show off your new initials than with a snazzy monogram?

To Enter: Go on over to the Southern Proper Monograms site and take a look around. Then come back here and tell us how you would use a custom monogram in your wedding.

To Win: Two 14-inch custom monograms for your wedding!

I think the better question is, how would I not use these monograms at my wedding?! Besides for having them hang on the back of our chairs at the reception, they would look amazing in the wreaths on the doors as you enter the church and the reception venue for cocktail hour. It would also look cute tied to the back of our getaway car for a new twist on the “just married” sign. These monograms would be great to tie in our monogrammed overlay on the cake table!

  2. avatar Elisa B reply

I would love to use these on the doors of the church or the end of the aisles at the ceremony. At the reception they could be used on the ride and groom chairs and during portraits too!

  3. avatar Stefanie R. reply

I think the monogram would be perfect for the front doors of the chapel! Maybe nestled in some magnolia wreaths.

  4. avatar Sarah reply

I would definitely hang them on the doors that open onto the courtyard :)

  5. avatar Sandryte reply

I would hang it on the gates

  6. avatar Tiffany Lee reply

I am monogram crazy! I would hang one monogram above us during the reception and another on the barn doors on the way into the reception.

  7. avatar Laura DeBellis reply

These are wonderful! We are having our ceremony and reception at an oceanfront beach house so one of them would be perfect on the front door to welcome everyone! The other would have to be highlighted at the reception somehow! They’re awesome!

  8. avatar Emily L reply

I would hang them on the front doors of the Southern mansion that our reception is at, inside the Mississippi cotton boil wreaths! I’m obsessed with monograms!! And it would be a great way to greet our guests to our first party as a married couple!! :D

  9. avatar elizabeth reply

i love the idea of using these monograms at our wedding! i would use them inside of wreaths for our church doors and then also use them at the entrance to our reception site!

  10. avatar Madi reply

I think it would be absolutely sweet to have a monogram-themed post-wedding photo shoot! Having the bride and groom hold their own separate monograms, then bringing them together with their new “together” monogram….absolutely adorable. :)

  11. avatar Jessica Garrett reply

I love it all! I especially like the colorful flower wreath with monogram and the wine koozie with monogram!! Super cute!!! Would love to have one!

  12. avatar madelynne miller reply

I think it’d be really neat to put them on the table at the church entry with the guest book and flowers. I would also love it on the family wedding portrait table to show how my name is changing :)

  13. avatar Haley reply

I agree with Kelsey–how could you not use these!! I would probably use them at the door to welcome guests or near the dance floor!

  14. avatar Linden reply

oh how I love monograms! I think I’ve loved monogramming EVERYTHING since preschool when I had my pink backpack monogrammed with my name…. (or maybe even earlier with the bloomers with my name- haha). Anyway, I’d use them in flower wreaths on the church doors!!!

  15. avatar Echo Dannelle reply

I’d love to hang one behind us at the reception. Or maybe put it on the guestbook table. I can’t decide!

  16. avatar Jenna Kate reply

I would love to have one of these monograms!! We’re getting married in a private garden off a busy street in downtown Charleston, SC, so this would be a great way to make sure our guests know where to come in for our wedding!!

  17. avatar Sarah H. reply

Quite frankly, I will monogram anything that stays still long enough. And although the doors on the chapel I am getting married in will stay still, I think I would be in BIG trouble if I monogrammed them, so these custom monograms would be the perfect fix on the chapel doors!

  18. avatar Jennifer reply

I would nestle each monogram inside a wreath of white roses and hang them on the wrought iron gates of my venue using an off-white or champagne satin ribbon. Then later, I’d use them in my formal Christmas tree! The other one would have a reserved spot on my front door year round!

  19. avatar Kerry reply

Although I had the wedding of my dreams this summer, I would just LOVE to place our new initials on the front door of our home-sweet-home! I have cotton and burlap that were saved from our wedding that I would love to use in a vine wreath. The wood monogram would make it absolutely perfect! They are simply adorable!

  20. avatar Desiree reply

I love this Southern Fab Find! I’ve been wanting a sign to hang on my office door – kind of like a storefront sign!

  21. avatar Sarah reply

The 3-letter ten inch monograms would be beautiful if hung from the two giant wooden handles on the doors to my church. It would definitely be a
Southern way of letting guests know they’re at the right
place for our wedding! And they’d just be so darn adorable!

  22. avatar Ali Peek reply

The better question is “where would I NOT use them?’ I am absolutely obsessed with monograms and cannot wait to put my new initials anywhere and EVERYWHERE at my wedding in April.

  23. avatar Kristyn M reply

I have been oogling over these FOREVER! I love the three letter monograms in 10 or 14 in! I really want one for our front door!!

  24. avatar Allyson L. reply

I have been looking into monograms for our wedding but haven’t found exactly what I wanted yet. I love these birch wood monograms though, they would go perfectly with our rustic farm setting. My Mom and I are marking fall inspired wreaths for the doors of the barn as guests enter the ceremony space and I would love to include these in the wreaths. We are also planning on using monograms throughout the reception on our chairs and on the dessert table.

  25. avatar Melissa reply

My wedding is just 3 weeks away! We are still putting the finishing touches and details together. I can see the 3 letter monogram (10 in) on the fireplace mantle behind our head table beside a white and green hydrangea arrangement and also the single monograms scattered throughout the reception site.

  26. avatar Amber reply

I would string these on burlap and hang one each on the huge wooden doors at the entrance of Raffaldini for our wedding. I don’t usually like personal items monogrammed, but love these!

  27. avatar Ilana reply

I have always love the look of the bride and grooms chair decorations. These would be fantastic to use on our chairs at the reception – one three letter monogram each with our initials – hanging with bright ribbons! OR (since the wreaths are just adorable) a three letter monogram with our two initials on either side of the last name initial hanging on the front door of the reception. Too adorable!!

  28. avatar Emily H reply

How purdy! We are getting married under a tree in the middle of a Tennessee vineyard. I would love to hang these monograms on the vine post on either side of the tree.

  29. avatar Charity reply

Let me start by saying I’m getting one of these wether or not i win! I like to call my wedding theme, Farmhouse Shaby Chic. I’m using lots of pieces of old furniture and lots of items whitewashed. The monogram will be perfectly with every single detail in my wedding!!!! I could use two single letters for mine and my fiances first names and a three letter monogram for either, the sign in table, in a wreath, somewhere in my southern style buffet line or a number of other places!! I’m so glad ya’ll posted these!!

  30. avatar Kate E reply

I would love to use two of the 3-letter 16 inch monograms on the back of the bride and groom’s chairs. They are so simple and elegant, I think they would be the perfect addition!

  31. avatar Brittany B reply

I would use the 3 letter monograms as an accent to my “Love is Sweet” table. We are having a variety of desserts with pictures of us growing up eating cotton candy, ice cream, candy, popsicles, etc. I would love a large one to set right in the middle. I would probably use the other in a magnolia wreath at the door of our reception (an old plantation type house) here in Virginia :)

  32. avatar Emily reply

I’m getting married in a “secret garden” in downtown Richmond VA. We are using the garden door as theme and it would be perfect to hang the monogram from the wreath on the door!

  33. avatar Katherine reply

I LOVE these!! I would use one to hang behind our bride and groom’s chairs!

  34. avatar Ashley Stout reply

I love these. I am getting married in a old barn and they would look great of the barn doors as guest walked in.
