Our October was full of pretty leaves, Halloween hype and general fall fun. With the State Fair in town, it was also full of deliciously fried foods and carnival games. Take a look at what the Southern Weddings gals did last month!

1. Emily and John ventured to some waterfalls while taking a weekend trip to Asheville

2. Lara, Grace and Ari went to the McKee Farm corn maze!

3. I waited in line for a fried chicken biscuit from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen — a Chapel Hill must!

4. Lara surprised Emily and I with some Krispy Kremes as we made our final edits on V5.

5. I ran the Color Me Rad 5K with my sister and Dad.

6. Emily, in the thick of the name change process, gathered up materials for the social security office.

7. I went to the State Fair and got to the top of the Ferris wheel just just as the fireworks show began.

8. Kristin celebrated the start of fall with some homemade chicken vegetable soup.

9. Emily, also in the mood to celebrate fall, whipped up some pumpkin chocolate chip muffins on wedding china! (She gladly shared the recipe with us here.)

10. Kristin celebrated her eighth first-date anniversary (photo from first date weekend, October 2004).

11. Marissa unpacked from Bridal Market and repacked to move! Yes, that is peanut butter in her suitcase.

12. Kristin spent a gorgeous Saturday morning at the State Fair tasting a pile of yummy (mostly fried) Southern treats: ham biscuit, fried pickles, fried snickers, roasted corn and more!

13. One of the one million gorgeous gowns Kristin saw during Bridal Market in NYC. This one is by Ines Di Santo.

14. Emily and I spent a couple of days proofing V5!

15. Marissa had dinner in NYC with Kristin, Kat Harris and former SW editor, Whitney. Once an SW girl, always an SW girl!

16. We carved a Southern pumpkin, y’all! This guy even has a dapper bow tie.

17. Lara went on a trip across the U.S. for Making Things Happen and flew over beach, canyons and snow.

18. Emily painted some golden pumpkins as her crafty project of the month.

Whew. August was a big month for us y’all! We had some big photo shoots (in our office, no less), tons of magazine-prep, fun reuniting with Marissa and of course, many Southern Doin’s. Take a look at what happened behind the scenes at Southern Weddings!

1. While all the girls were primping and prepping for our team photos, I snapped a quick photo of our office couch covered in outfit options! We had a ton of fun choosing what to wear.

2. We could not believe Marissa hadn’t met Grace until Em’s shower! They spent some snuggle time together afterward.

3. Yahoo! Em finally got some cowboy boots! We just love that she paired them with a cute navy dress and a fun necklace for the day.

4. We shot our cover this month — what do y’all think?

5. Marissa had a hilarious text reaction to Lara’s iPhone preview of a feature shoot.

6. Emily’s ring bearer bowl from Paloma’s Nest arrived!! Just a few short days until she says “I do!”

7. We made some beautiful bouquets with cotton from Floral Cotton for shoots. We think they might have made it into almost every shoot this year! We just can’t get enough.

8. We shot three giant features in our office this year!

9. We took our new team photos this month with the help of Nancy Ray.

10. Emily snapped a quick shot of the belties at Fearrington while she was at brunch with her parents! They might be one of our favorite features of Fearrington.

11. I powered up for a day of Southern Weddings projects at my favorite local coffee shop and wondered if anyone would invent a pecan-flavored shot.

12. A plate full of biscuits from one of our last big shoots — a guaranteed tummy-filler when the troops are getting hungry.

13. Emily’s pre-wedding reminder on her home chalkboard. Can y’all tell that she’s been practicing her calligraphy?

14. Marissa finally found the elusive “Tart Deco” color by Essie. It was on her summer essentials list, and she couldn’t find it anywhere! We think it’s the perfect peachy color.

15. Marissa’s adorable new desk décor from Katie at Petal and Print.

How was August for y’all? What were the highlights of your month?

See what happened in July, June and May.

Oh girl! A friend of mine had me hooked, and I looked for literally a month! I finally found it at a random CVS while traveling!

August was good for me because I got married! (I’m still eagerly anticipating the new issue of SW, though!) We spent our honeymoon at Disney World, and now we’re settling into our first place!

You girls are my favorites! LOVE from Mississippi.

July: the month of farmer’s markets, ice cream and vacation time — at least in the Southern Weddings office! Take a look at what the SW ladies have been up to this past month, in and out of the office.

1. Marissa’s favorite shirt. She got it last summer from a little boutique in Franklin, Tennessee, and all the proceeds went to help victims of the Southern tornadoes.

2. I picked up some peaches, green tomatoes and figs at the farmer’s market. The bright colors, wonderful smells and yummy samples made it hard to leave the place!

3. Ice cream and matching Jack Rogers with Marissa + Kristin!

4. A shot of Emily + John’s wedding chapel (She visited in July for a meeting with her chapel coordinator!)

5. The Krispy Kreme burger at a restaurant Marissa and her friends ate at. Sadly, no, she didn’t try it. (I vote this for our next office field trip.)

6. Emily and I indulged in red velvet ice cream in the office while we planned our July photo shoots.

7. While at Hilton Head, I made a stop into the nearby Piggly Wiggly!

8. Marissa snapped a photo of these geese who literally made her stop in the middle of heavy traffic and then took their time crossing the road!

9. Lara made sweet tea popsicles for our shoot last week — they looked delicious!

10. Lara brought home a pile of treasures at the farmer’s market.

11. Emily baked up some mini peach raspberry pies. Don’t they look adorable? She adapted the recipe from the full-size peach pie recipe in Joy of Cooking, in case you’re wondering :)

12. Intern Emily Alice and I shared a birthday last week! Lara and Emily surprised us with a trip to Maple View Farm for ice cream and cow sightings.

13. Baby Gracie ate a Georgia peach!

14. A lovely shot of the corn fields from Emily’s drive in the country.

15. I took a Fourth of July trip to the Outer Banks.

16. I also brought the SW gals some sweet tea and red velvet ice cream! It’s made just a couple of hours south of us in Mooresville!

17. ME and Lara with Miss Georgia at our shoot last week.

18. Emily’s desk upon her return to the South from New England, complete with a “welcome back” banner.

How was your July? What were the highlights of your month?

See what happened in June and May.
