If you’re just tuning in, be sure to see part one of our Behind the Scenes of Bridal Market 2015 recaps here!

One of the most fun things about Bridal Market is the number of “is this real life” moments, and the Marchesa presentation was definitely one of them. We arrived a few minutes early, so we headed out to the balcony for a glass of champagne and pictures with the incredible skyline in the background! We lucked out with gorgeous weather for almost the entire week, and we loved soaking it in for a few moments outside. Also, I always joke with Emily that since I manage the Southern Weddings Instagram account, I’m on my phone in every “behind the scenes” picture of me–but I think the one below is by far the most glamorous of them all. Thanks, Kat! :)

The Marchesa Fall 2016 collection was packed with stunning gowns–from lace patterns to intricate beading, the detail work was incredible. We especially loved the silhouettes they used, like that lovely peplum! You can see another one of our favorite gowns here.

We had a little break for dinner in between Marchesa and the Claire Pettibone show, but first, Kristin and Kat couldn’t resist recreating one of Kristin’s Bridal Market photos from 2012! How darling is she? We’re so grateful to have had Kat with us again this year.

While Kristin and I polished off this meal at Cookshop, as per Kat’s recommendation, she headed to The Prince George Ballroom to shoot backstage before the Claire Pettibone show. Claire’s show is definitely a highlight every year–the gowns are like works of art, the styling is incredible, and the venue is always magical. This year was no exception, and we loved seeing these moments Kat captured leading up to the action!

How fun are these sweet shots? Love seeing those smiles and high fives after a fabulous show! P.S. That’s Claire Pettibone herself on the bottom right in the floral blouse!

That was only the first of five action-packed days, and you can see the rest on Instagram! Check out our #SWBridalMarket hashtag to see all our favorite gowns from Carolina Herrera, Lela Rose, Badgley Mischka, Ines Di Santo, Amsale, Christos, Kenneth Pool, Rivini, Monique Lhuillier, Hayley Paige, Jim Hjelm, Alvina Valenta, Lazaro, Sareh Nouri, Modern Trousseau, Liancarlo, Heidi Elnora, Kate McDonald Bridal, Romona Keveza, Olia Zavozina, Carol Hannah, and BHLDN. We hope y’all loved following along!

P.S. Huge hugs and thanks to Kat Harris for capturing this exciting day!

I can’t blame y’all for picking Marchesa & Claire Pettibone to highlight in this post. They were serious wonders to me this NYBFW! The lace work and the embellishments and the detailing from these bridal houses just made me giddy.

Hi friends! After five fabulous, fun, and very exhausting days at Bridal Market, Kristin and I are home sweet home, and excited to share our adventure! If you’re a longtime reader, you may remember that we usually do a series of Bridal Market recaps to show you our favorite designs from every show. We decided to do things a little differently this year, sharing all of the gorgeousness live via Instagram (we used #SWBridalMarket so it’s super easy to find our posts!) and on Snapchat, and using the blog to show you some behind the scenes peeks at what a crazy day at Market is like, plus some exclusive backstage looks at some of our favorite shows. The talented Kat Harris tagged along with us on our first afternoon of Market, and I’m giddy with excitement to share what she captured along the way!

Thanks to wakeup calls of 4 and 6 AM before our flights from Orlando and Raleigh respectively, there was no way Kristin and I were trusting ourselves to get Market-ready, so as soon as we got off the plane, we beelined to Drybar. We joked that this was possibly one of our best ideas of the trip–it was so nice to take a breather and mentally prepare for the day while someone else took charge of giving us pretty curls and Southern volume!

With our hair in place, we headed through Bryant Park to the New York Public Library to go over our notes and schedule and make sure our game plan for the day was set. As brief as this stop was, it was extra special to me–my mom used to eat lunch on these steps every day when she worked in publishing in Manhattan! I love thinking about her sitting in that same spot when she was around my age.

Ducks in a row and papers in order, we hopped into a taxi to Carolina Herrera‘s showroom (see photos here and here) and then to Lela Rose‘s presentation (here and here!). In the meantime, Kat headed over to the studio where the Anne Barge show was being held to capture some photos backstage. She was the only photographer there, so we’re thrilled that these photos are exclusive to SW and a special peek just for y’all!

The Anne Barge Fall 2016 collection was full of classic silhouettes, sweet touches of lace, and just the right number of unexpected details (hello, high-low skirt!)…plus, the most adorable flower girls! We love the Southern sensibility Anne designs with–all of her gowns are totally wearable for a stylish belle.

After the show, Kristin hailed a taxi like a pro and we were off to Canoe Studios for Marchesa! Isn’t her Camilyn Beth dress the cutest?

Stay tuned for Part 2 this afternoon!

I love these posts! I’m glad you gals had a fun time. Seriously, there’s nothing better than stepping off of a plane & then heading to get a blowout AND THEN going to see some pretty gowns. Amen for big hair!

Today is the fifth and final day of our Bridal Market recaps, and gracious, it has been so much fun sharing our experience and favorite moments! If you’re just tuning in, catch up on Parts One, Two, Three, and Four. We’re so grateful to Briana of Divine Light Photography for capturing our experience and all of these gorgeous gowns so that we could share them with y’all this week!

Our final day of Market started on the loveliest note–Breakfast with BHLDN! We are longtime fans of BHLDN’s vintage-inspired dresses and heirloom-worthy accessories, so it was a treat to see their new collection in person, especially in such a fun space. Even though we were there to see the gowns, we couldn’t help but gush a little over the amazing florals they had tucked into every corner, too!

Our outfits for the day! I’m wearing a Loft shirt, J. Crew Factory skirt, and Badgley Mischka heels, and Emily is wearing a J. Crew Factory shirt, Francesca’s skirt, and Sole Society heels.

After we finished our mini yogurt parfaits at BHLDN, we walked over to Rockefeller Center to visit the gorgeous new Romona Keveza space and see their Fall 2015 Legends collection. We had so much fun admiring these gowns–all inspired by classic style icons. Can you spot the design inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s dress in Funny Face, or the one modeled after Grace Kelly’s wedding gown? (These photos are courtesy of Romona Keveza.)

We had to dodge a Columbus Day parade to get to our next presentation–Sarah Janks at the iconic St. Regis hotel. In case you’re wondering how we lasted every day in heels, here’s a little secret: we didn’t! Our photographer, Briana, captured this funny moment outside before we headed up the elevator. Neither of us was very familiar with the Australian-based Sarah Janks line before we saw her presentation, and we were so impressed by the elegant, romantic gowns!

Our next stop was our last runway show of the weekend–Southern gal, Carol Hannah. Her collection was flowy, ethereal, and Egyptian-inspired with a few unexpected touches. We loved catching up with our sweet friends from The Sentimentalist after the show!

We couldn’t leave Bridal Market without stopping by The Knot Couture show to check in with some of our very favorite designers. First, the rainbow of darling bridesmaid dresses at Donna Morgan–we couldn’t get enough of their new silk shantung dresses, or the prettiest new floral print they’ve introduced! P.S. They have a handful of adorable little white dresses too, perfect for bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and getaway outfits.

Heidi Elnora is a dear friend of Southern Weddings, and there was literally not a thing we didn’t love about her collection! Her gowns are the epitome of sweet and Southern–plus, they all have double names, like Lonna Belle and Marissa Ellen. Love!

After leaving the Knot Couture show, we loved getting a peek at the new Monique Lhuillier collection. The showroom was designed to look like the inside of Monique’s jewelry box, and the sherbert-hued gowns covered in gorgeous embellishments brought it all to life! (These photos are courtesy of Monique Lhuillier.)

We could not have imagined a more amazing way to close these four days than with the Carolina Herrera presentation. What an experience! It was set up more like a cocktail party than a traditional presentation, and the atmosphere was as chic as can be–complete with boxwood arrangements, black and white striped furniture, and models mingling with the crowd. We could not stop whispering with excitement over how much we loved the gowns, the hair, the makeup…just everything! The cherry on top was meeting Carolina Herrera herself. She was so gracious and elegant, and we were honored to talk to her about how much we loved the collection!

We finished the weekend at the ever-so-glamorous Martha Stewart Weddings 20th Anniversary Party at the Pierre Hotel. We were so grateful to Rent the Runway for outfitting us in dresses that perfectly matched the “platinum” theme–Emily rocked a sparkly cocktail dress by Badgley Mischka and I wore a white dress with silver embroidery by Erin Fetherston (who we then met at the party! So crazy!). We had the best time chatting with friends, sampling Peter Callahan delicacies, and dancing in the flip book photo booth.

The next morning, we were on the plane bright and early to head back to NC–exhausted, happy, and ready to hug our beaus and celebrate sending V7 to the printer with the rest of the SW gals! To see even more photos of our NYC adventure, be sure to check out our #SWBridalMarket hashtag on Instagram.

We’d love to know! Which of these gowns is your favorite?
