Google+ Bridal Market 2014 Part 2: Alvina, Hayley, Jim Hjelm, Lazaro, Watters, Liancarlo - Southern Weddings

As I mentioned yesterday, our first day of Bridal Market was packed to the brim. We ended the day on a super high note at the JLM Couture show before grabbing some late night Five Guys and turning in for the night, resting up for day two! Here’s a look at what we saw on Friday night and Saturday morning, complete with beautiful photos by Briana Elledge of Divine Light Photography!

The detailing at Jim Hjelm was gorgeous, without being too over the top. Blush and nude gowns appeared throughout Market, and the Jim Hjelm collection incorporated both subtle colors especially well–people in the crowd couldn’t stop talking about that rose embroidered gown!

Hayley Paige is so fabulous–we were so excited to see what she’s been dreaming up, especially now that she’s engaged herself! Her Spring 2015 line was fun and unique, complete with lots of geometric patterns, touches of black, and even some stud detailing. They definitely made a statement!

I think Alvina Valenta was the most romantic of the JLM collections, thanks in part to all of the dreamy tulle! We especially loved the new twists on the classic and much-beloved sweetheart neckline, and the subtle touches of sparkle throughout.

Finally, the ever-so-glamorous Lazaro! When we’re looking for a gown with lots of sparkle, Lazaro is often the first place we go. From fully beaded slip gowns to elaborate embroidery, each dress was so much fun to see. There was also tons of color!

Saturday morning was drizzly and gray, so we put on our brightest lip colors (Nars “Shiap” for Emily and Sephora “The Red” for me) and huddled under Emily’s umbrella to head to the Piers. We had lots of fun planning and coordinating our outfits for the weekend–here, Emily wore a Loft shirt and skirt and Sole Society pumps, and I wore a J. Crew dress and Badgley Mischka heels. Updos were a necessity for a long day of running around in the rain!

The first show of the day was the Watters collection, which included Love Marley, Wtoo Brides and Bridesmaids, Encore, and Watters Brides and Bridesmaids. There were so many classic gowns with sweet, understated details–fluttery sleeves, embroidered lace, and floral appliqués, to name a few.

Next up, we headed to a presentation at Liancarlo. We couldn’t get enough of the beautiful lace designs–so perfect for Southern brides! We loved having the opportunity to chat with the designer, Carlos Ramirez, about the inspiration and story behind the gowns–it’s amazing how much care and thought goes into each one.

We’ll be back with a recap of the rest of Saturday’s shows tomorrow! Which dresses are your favorites from this post? I love geometric ball gown at Hayley Paige (first row) and the simple sweetheart neckline ball gown at Watters (third row), and Emily’s top picks are the cap sleeve gown at Jim Hjelm (first row), the ivory and blush gown at Alvina Valenta (first row), and the illusion lace back at Liancarlo (third row).
