I have a sneaking suspicion that a handful of these images from our Generations Past editorial are some of our most-pinned ever…and I don’t blame anyone, because heavens, they sure are gorgeous! A truly phenomenal team brought all of the magic to life beneath the shade of Spanish moss three years ago for V6, with the help of exquisite, hand-painted details, a seriously stunning blush tulle gown, family heirlooms nestled into every corner, and some of the prettiest blooms I’ve ever seen. I don’t think we’ll ever grow tired of this shoot, and we sure hope you don’t either! You can also still see it in print, too–just pick up a copy of V6 in the Southern Weddings Shop.

Confession: I’m a bit of a magazine hoarder. While part of that may be due to my career field, the other reason is that I really do love looking back at past issues! No matter how old a magazine is, I always find an idea or two to take away for the season with every read. In the same vein, there are so many gorgeous editorials in our archives, so it’s always fun to revisit old favorites. Since we’re eagerly anticipating the dogwood season in North Carolina, it seems like the perfect time to take a peek back at V7‘s A New Beginning! We kept things quite simple in this editorial, allowing the stunning trees, gorgeous real life couple, sweet kiddos, and joyful moments to shine. It’s one of my personal favorites to this day and we hope y’all love it as much as we do!

Thank you so much to Landon Jacob Photography for capturing every detail for us!

We’ve shared surcees for newlyweds, for your wedding day, and for your best gals, but no round-up of Southern goodies would be complete without food! If you’re not sure what to bring as a hostess gift, you want to add a personal touch to a registry gift at a bridal shower, or you simply want to show someone your love and appreciation, food is the first place many Southerners turn. As a result, there are so many unique (and delicious!) Southern sources for foodie gifts, and we had so much fun rounding up the ones we featured in V8 with the help of our always-in-the-know tastemaker, Calder Clark!

Clockwise from top left: original Charleston benne wafers, hot pepper vinegar sauce, buttermilk biscuit mix, smoked onion jam, artisan chocolate bars, hush puppy mix, ginger-scented chocolate pecan tarts, Nom Nom Nom pie plate, Old Fashioned set, stone ground grits and creole sauce, bourbon marshmallows, pickled peaches, lemon chiffon bread pudding mix, Noble Tonic 01 maple syrup
