Tag: generations past

I have a sneaking suspicion that a handful of these images from our Generations Past editorial are some of our most-pinned ever…and I don’t blame anyone, because heavens, they sure are gorgeous! A truly phenomenal team brought all of the magic to life beneath the shade of Spanish moss three years ago for V6, with the help of exquisite, hand-painted details, a seriously stunning blush tulle gown, family heirlooms nestled into every corner, and some of the prettiest blooms I’ve ever seen. I don’t think we’ll ever grow tired of this shoot, and we sure hope you don’t either! You can also still see it in print, too–just pick up a copy of V6 in the Southern Weddings Shop.

Oh my word. Seriously, how beautiful is this first photo?

It might be one of my very favorites in the whole magazine — that blush Reem Acra gown is truly a showstopper! Happily, it’s surrounded by equally exquisite details throughout this story, many of them handmade, and all captured by Adam Barnes and Katie Stoops. And that’s exactly what we were hoping for when we decided to showcase wedding details mined from generations past.

The handpainted stationery suite by Momental Designs is a perfect place to start:

Wouldn’t you love to receive this overflowing guest goodie basket? It includes Old School grits, Byrd’s Georgia Peach cookies, Savannah Bee Company tea and honey, pralines from Savannah’s Candy Kitchen, and treats from The Salt Table.

These might be some of the most gorgeous blooms in the magazine — and that’s saying something! Kudos to floral magician Amy Osaba!

Kristy handpainted those monogram handkerchiefs for the moms and grandmas, too — so lovely.

How adorable are these two?! They’re real-life couple Jennifer Pharr and husband Jerry, and we’re so excited to meet them at the launch party tomorrow!

Oh my — talk about a dream setting for a table. Spanish moss makes everything feel more romantic!

Fun fact: This family tree is based on the actual generations of planner Erica Stawick’s family – her mom handlettered the names, and it now hangs in her parents’ house!

Last but certainly not least, this cake. SO beautiful. It was lovingly made in Virginia by La Bella Torta then carefully transported all the way to Savannah for this special shoot!

Kudos once more to photographers Adam Barnes and Katie Stoops for their gorgeous documentation, and Ashley Baber Weddings for pulling all the details together! As a final treat, please enjoy this short piece that puts everything in motion by Naz Films:

I would love to hear: What’s your favorite part of this story? For me, it’s a tie between the bride’s gown + the bouquets!

Adam Barnes is a delightful member of our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory!

I’d have to say my favorite thing is a tie between the gorgeous gown and that bridesmaid’s hair, I’m obsessed with her curls!

This is just stunning! I can believe how many similarities there are to the Georgia Peach wedding I’m planning for my child’s April wedding. It’s so exciting to see some of my ideas in reality.
