Happy Saturday! We’re checking in on the weekend to share another wonderful wedding film from Inkspot Crow, this time of a beyond-stunning North Carolina winter wedding. Obviously, this kind of a soiree is not in everyone’s budget, but I think you’ll enjoy the epic tent (18,000 square feet!), all the cozy winter touches (including a magical exit at the end of the night!), and the expressions of the bride’s clearly awesome father (who just so happens to be the president of High Point University).

The Vendors:

Ceremony venue: Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church // Reception venue: Bride’s family home in High Point, NC // Wedding Coordination: Grace Leisure Events // Design, Catering & Decor (including Linens and Rentals): The Catering Company of Chapel Hill // Tenting: Party Reflections // Flowers and Soft Decor: Randy McManus Designs, Inc. // Ceremony Music: The Burlington Boys Choir and The Piedmont Chamber Orchestra // Reception Band: Big Blast & The Party Masters (booked through Eastcoast Entertainment) // Wedding Cake: The Art of Cake // Photography: Natalie Carter Hyde and her team from Aesthetic Images // Lighting Design: Jeff Linker // Band and Dance floor lighting: Chandler Gentry // Lighting Support: Dave Watson for Get Lit Special Event Lighting // Trolleys: Olde South Trolley Co. // Guest Charters: Trolleys Inc. dba Sunway Charters // Rolls Royce: Sterling Carriage // Hair Stylists & Make-up Artists: Colleen Kelly & Herita Jones // Seamstress: Mary Horlacher // Wedding Invitations: Debby Ferguson // Calligraphy: Yellow House Calligraphy

Thank you so much to Inkspot Crow for sharing this film with us! You can read a bit more about their experience at Brad & Deena’s wedding on their blog.

A bright and shining winter beach wedding like Emily envisioned was just the ticket to start off the New Year! I love the idea of pairing glitzy items like gold foil cards and metallic jewelry with organic material like linen and kraft to play off the beach tones and sparkly waters. If you’re picturing a relaxed but elegant beach wedding brightened up with dozens of tea lights after dark, then these picks are for you!

A. Bright winter wedding loveliness doesn’t have to stop at “I do.” Bring the style into your home with this striped bedding.

B. Send guests off with a little goodie! Pack them in these kraft bags, slap a custom sticker or stamp on the front and you have an adorable thank you present!

C. Just like blue skies make your heart happy, this blue bow tie will make your beau look positively dapper.

D. Whether you’re donning it for the rehearsal dinner or dressing your ‘maids, this one-shoulder frock is affordable and just darling.

E. Make your wrists sparkly and bright with this gold chain bracelet.

F. A thank you note goes even further when it’s gold foil and striped!

G. We’re a huge fan of sparkly heels in the office, but you don’t want to sink in the sand in them! Try these adorable flats, instead.

H. Give the beach coolness a touch of warmth. We’re always fans of clusters of votives, especially when they’re as pretty as these mercury glass ones.

I. Beach weddings also mean beach lounging right? Make things a little more formal with a wooden bench — but be sure to keep some throws nearby in case the winter beach breeze comes through, especially at night.

J. We love this natural canvas tote with it’s leather handles. Stuff it with gift for your bridesmaids or with a change of clothes for post-wedding beach frolicking!

K. These alphabet trays mimic the colors of the ocean. Keep them handy on your dressing table for trinkets and small jewelry.

L. We love a little sparkle in unexpected places. Wrap up invitations, programs or favors with this white and gold twine.

Did you plan a winter beach wedding? What items do you think are must-haves?

We hope you enjoyed part I of our Southern winter wedding inspiration! Wasn’t Emily’s inspiration board gorgeous? As Emily said, when Madi emailed us, we jumped at the chance to share some Southern winter wedding inspiration. Unsurprisingly, I am especially fond of the fabulous style associated with winter weddings.

(Faux) fur shrugs, stoles, and jackets, long sleeve gowns, boleros, shimmering shawls, and these to-die-for leather gloves top my list of must-have Southern winter wedding style staples. I also love the look of dainty net gloves, though they’re more practical than pretty (though very Southern!). Which leads me to my next point: as gorgeous as these options are, my advice is to think practical. Choose fully-lined pieces that you can layer over your gown for extra warmth. Think used: you can score the best pieces at vintage stores, because they’re made from heaver, higher-quality fabrics and fur. After all, what girl doesn’t want to be warm and look completely stunning at the same time? I know I do!

One other great way to achieve a winter wonderland look is through makeup. As you know, our skin lightens in the winter, since we spend less time sunbathing and more time inside. If you’re doing a trial, try to schedule it when your skin is a similar shade to what it will be in the winter (i.e. not in July!), and make sure your makeup artist knows when you’re getting married and plans for a lighter foundation shade. No one wants to have an icky line where her foundation doesn’t match her skin!

Doesn’t this snowy eye candy make you want to curl up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa? And just think: if it snows on your wedding day, all that fluffy snow calls from some extra close snuggling with your beau! You know, in order to stay warm!

Stay tuned, as Nicole will be stepping in soon with some Southern winter wedding Fab Finds that you don’t want to miss!
