More paper to finish off the day!

Like Figs & Ginger, Printerette Press was one of my favorite new discoveries in 2011. They didn’t disappoint in 2012, especially because they debuted their new wedding line! I loved the sweet illustrations.

Wednesday was one of my favorite new booths at the show this year, and its co-owner, Jessica, stood out for her smiley ways! I loved the blue gingham suite Cyn snapped, above.

The custom coasters at the Haute Papier booth caught my eye. These would be so perfect for favors – just scatter them on tables at cocktail hour!

These pretty patterned fabric totes were a new offering from Southern Weddings favorite Chewing the Cud this year. I think we need a whole wall of these in the SW office, don’t you? They’d be great for bridesmaid gifts, too!

Sugar Paper LA had the sweetest cards this year. I loved their minimalist style and use of pretty metallic foils!

These Southern instrument art prints from Wildhorse Press were awesome! Biscuits and banjos, anyone? The same prints also come in a notecard set!

The Permanent Collection had a few Southern-themed cards on display!

One Canoe Two is always one of my favorite booths – I wanted one of everything they had on display! I love the soft vintage colors so much. There was lots of tweeting going on at this booth :)

To finish for the day, I wanted to share with you the gorgeous Mr. Boddington’s Studio booth (love those giant paper flowers!) and my favorite new product that they debuted, their calligraphy marriage certificates. Such a beautiful keepsake to frame, and extremely reasonably priced, too – I can’t remember the exact amount, but I think it was about $30-$35. Love!

More tomorrow, friends!

As usual, a huge thank you to Cyn Kain for snapping all of these lovely photos!

Paper, paper, everywhere! By this time, my and Cyn’s feet were getting a little sore (she had actually changed from her heels into flats!), but we pressed on, all in the name of paper!

The Smock + Bella Figura booth is reliably one of my favorites – it’s just so colorful! There patterned boxes were a hit as usual, and I liked seeing their new notebooks, as well. It was also a pleasure to meet Erica, who I have worked with often over email but had never met in person before!

Next up was the Ladies of Letterpress booth, where several talented (you guessed it) letterpress printers exhibit together. We loved the sweet cards from Moglea. (Bottom image by Nole from Oh So Beautiful Paper!)

These wine bottle tags by Tella Press were quite cute, and would be great for dressing up wedding or thank you gifts.

Also at the LoL booth were Shauna and Stephen, the geniuses behind Something’s Hiding in Here, Forage, and now, Seed House! I love these fill-in advice cards as a stand-in for a traditional guest book.

Pink Orchid Press designed this darling card which made me think of our Florida brides!

A card all about mason jars?! You know we loved this one from Petal Press! (And aren’t their little business cards adorable?)

Sweet art prints from May Day Studio. These would be pretty hanging at a reception, too!

That’s it for today, y’all – coverage will continue next week! Let’s have another round of applause for Ms Cyn Kain, who snapped these photos!

Hey, y’all! I just got back from New York City, where I was reveling in one of my favorite weeks of the year – the week of the National Stationery Show!! For four days, stationers and designers big and small converge on a massive convention center in Manhattan. They set up adorable booths displaying their best and newest designs, and then buyers (from both online and brick and mortar stores) and members of the press (like me!) walk the floor checking everything out. It’s bliss, I tell you!

I did my best to capture the gloriousness with my iPhone and tweets in the moment, but thankfully photographer Cyn Kain was at my side doing what she does best. Her photos showcase the beautiful designs far better than mine ever could!

We’ve got a lot to cover, so let’s get started!

Our first booth of the day – Jan Sevadjian! I was all tingly with excitement at this point. Jan makes beautiful silk-wrapped photo albums and keepsake boxes that would be perfect for the classic bride.

The Macbeth Collection is a preppy’s paradise – for real, y’all. There pattern play is amazing, and I loved all the monogrammed goodness! Marissa tweeted that she hoped I would sneak one of the bins out for her, and I would have, if only I thought it would have fit under my shirt. Maybe next time? And how perfect would these be holding ceremony programs, or cold drinks at the reception, or given as bridesmaid gifts? Perfectly perfect.

There was so much fun ephemera – most of it glittery – at Tinsel Trading. I particularly loved the glitter letters (which would be so cute used in chair back decor, like at this wedding) and the cheerful ceremony or exit flags.

Cyn and I both loved these romantic heart-shaped cards from Oblation Papers & Press. Such beautiful letterpress!

Oh my! Next up was the Lifeguard Press booth, home of the one and only Lilly Pulitzer. It was almost too much pink to handle! (But not really, I totally loved it :) We didn’t snap a pic of them, but there were the most adorable patterned iPhone cases on display!

I loved the design of Smudge Ink’s booth, and I enjoyed looking through their new wedding albums, too. Their gift wrap and cards were adorable! (Photo on the bottom left nabbed from Nole of Oh So Beautiful Paper!)

Thank you so much to Cyn for these great photos! I’ll be back with much more soon!

I would love to go to the NSS one day. Emily, I love your tunic. Is it Boden?

Hi Elizabeth! Why, thank you so much! Yes, it’s Boden :)

Thanks so much for the recap! I can’t wait to go to NSS next year!

All of the booths look like such fun! I am currently on the hunt for horse racing/keeneland themed invites, do you ladies have any suggestions on where I might be able to find or design something along those lines?

    Thanks!

    • avatar Emily reply

Hi Mary Kate! I didn’t spot anything ready-made at the show that fits what you’re looking for, but my best advice would be to get in touch with Belle & Union (coming up in my recaps next week!). They have an amazing Southern sensibility, and I’m sure they’d design something you’d love!

Thanks for sharing! The Macbeth Collection is my favorite! I love, love all of their stuff. I have the utensil holder that I have used to hold my pens at work for the last six years. I always get so many compliments on it.
