Happy June! Are y’all excited for this month? I’m ready for summer to officially arrive, weekends at the pool, cookouts and ice cream. Basically, everything we did over Memorial Day weekend.

Y’all might remember our excited tweets last week when Emily traveled up to New York for our very first SWV5 shoot! I was dying to see the results. Lucky for us, she posted a sneak peek!

May’s Southern Bride of the Month, Mignon and I share a love for UNC (go Heels!) and for the color orange. Her museum reception sounds divine!

Emily’s crazy week (as we affectionately call it) encompassed the one and only National Stationery Show. We were glued to our Twitter accounts as Emily posted updates on the goodies. See her recaps here, here and here.

Curious about what goes on behind the scenes with the Southern Weddings ladies? We recapped May just for y’all with our favorite Instagram photos.

Real Weddings make us smile

Lindsay + Chris military wedding was full of the traditions that make the South so special. We love that Chris surprised his bride with a sword arch! See it here.

Melanie + Cale’s outdoor wedding made our hearts melt. We were blown away by her crocheted dress and unique ceremony setup. See it here.

Good news for the weekend

Want a little more behind-the-scenes? Ashley Brooke Designs featured Emily’s desk on her blog this week!

Before you go, we wanted to share a little something lovely from one of our Southern Brides of the Month, Ali. Ali + Eric were married in Florida last month! Big thanks to Anna Kirby for sharing their photos with us! See more from their wedding on her blog.

We also wanted to give a little shout-out and many well wishes to our Southern Bride Bloggers who are getting married this weekend! Congratulations to Jeannine, Ashlee, Dori and Alli, and ALL of you lovely beaus + belles whose big day has finally arrived!!

Happy weekend, lovelies!

Do you remember when you were little and didn’t understand why adults talked so much about weather? What’s so interesting about the forecast? Now, I talk about weather all the time and routinely check my iPhone for an hour-by-hour report (that’s not too much, right?). We’re smack in the middle of some April showers at the moment and though we didn’t expect yesterday’s thunderstorm, I’m grateful it’s washing off the pollen from my car. Who else can’t wait for May flowers?

We’re not trying push spring aside, but we do love the summery freshness of Emily’s Key Lime Pie inspiration board. Refreshing, no?

We just love that our intern, Anna shared her experience at the Old South Ball, Kappa Alpha’s fraternity formal. She rocked a hoop skirt and all!

April’s Southern Bride of the Month, Elizabeth wants her wedding to feel like a garden by the ocean. We love her vision and Marissa loves her Alabama roots!

Y’all this is big news. We’re giving away a photography package from Maile Lani!! Check out this post for details on how to enter — you don’t want to miss this one!

Emily’s told us all about the venues and the rentals for her wedding earlier. This week, we got to see it come together as she shared her vision for her reception style.

Emily’s Southern Spotting is always so adorable! We love these muslin biscuit bags that are tagged with the bride’s grandmother’s recipe.

Marissa’s already married, but you know that wouldn’t stop us from dreaming up some bridal shower inspiration for her! See what Sierra put together here.

This week’s featured Real Wedding Gallery is Whitney + John! Their mountain wedding was complete with touches from family and friends and, of course, that good ole Southern barbecue.

Real Weddings are the bees knees!

Callie + Paul’s wedding was full of handmade touches that brought the event together in a beautiful way. See it here.

Elizabeth + Alex’s Lowndes Grove wedding is timeless Southern perfection. See it here.

Happy News!

Has anyone else found their car to be a sickly pollen-colored yellow this week? I love that spring is here, but I find myself holding back on taking Lola (Yes, I did name my car. Has anyone else?) to the car wash twice a day.

Thankfully, the blog is not subject to weather conditions and it’s been perfectly lovely all week! Of course, we like to socialize outside of the office, too. If you’re interested in meeting the Southern Weddings ladies and hearing all about our history and what’s to come, join us at our meeting on Monday at UNC! The Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors is hosting us. You can RSVP here. We’d love to meet you!

We started Monday off with a sweet ring pillow alternative. We love the sentiment attached to this idea.

We were thrilled to welcome March’s Southern Bride of the Month, Ali to the blog! Her Gator engagement photos might look familiar to you!

We love these photos of our newly engaged readers! Give them a big congrats right here.

I’m so excited for our next Ultimate Southern Challenge! Send us your most Southern and adorable sweets!

There are so many details we love about Cee Cee + Chad’s ballroom wedding, including the bride’s veil and the baby’s breath arrangements. See it here.

Sarah + Dan may not have been married in the South, but we give them major kudos for bringing the South to them! See their wedding here.
