Y’all should see our office right now! We’re swimming in post office receipts (more on that tomorrow) and squealing over our newest cover every time we see it. Even better, today we’re busting out the glitter to prepare for our big V5 Launch Party tomorrow! We are so excited to head over to the Carolina Inn to see everyone. The party is SOLD OUT, but see details below on how you can join us virtually!

We want to take another moment to thank everyone who is helping to make this party as amazing as we imagined! The Carolina Inn is graciously hosting us and creating a menu that is to die for. Rebecca from Millie Holloman Photography and The Cheese Photo Booth will be on hand to capture all of the fun moments, Callie’s Biscuits, J and R Foods and Ambrosia Cake Creations will be providing some yummy eats and Momental Designs, For Your Party, I Do Linens, Expressions of Love Florist, Fine & Dandy Party Shop, Floral Cotton, Stephanie Creekmur and A&P Designs are contributing some gorgeous details. Additionally, we’re so happy to have our friends the Bloomsbury Boys playing for us as well as some games from SC Cornhole.

With that lineup, can’t you tell we’re excited? We can’t wait to see everyone’s smiling faces and their gold and glittery best! (Don’t have anything gold or glitter? That’s okay — come in your best cocktail attire!)

Just as a reminder, the party is SOLD OUT. We’re over capacity at the Carolina Inn, simply due to space limitations, but feel free to add yourself to the wait list on our Eventbrite page in case we have a ticket available for you later. PLEASE NOTE: You will need a printed ticket to be admitted to the party. Please print your ticket or bring a digital version on your mobile device! Parking? Head to the Inn’s valet stand or park right across the street from the Inn in the Nash lot.

JOIN US FROM YOUR COMPUTER! We’ll be live-streaming the event from our Ustream channel! Tune in here on Thursday to see what we’re up to.

See y’all tomorrow!

Are y’all counting down with us? There are only five days left until V5 arrives and our tails are practically wagging!

Among the big days we’re counting down to, the holidays top our list, too. After all, Thanksgiving is only a couple of weeks away, and that means we can officially begin decorating and celebrating! (Right, Em?)

One of our favorite parts of the season is organizing and holding our annual events. We’re really excited to get the ball rolling on our fourth annual ornament swap and are already brainstorming some crafty ideas! We had an amazing swap last year (take a look at our recap here) and would love for y’all to participate! Take a look at the directions below. Whether you intend to hand make the ornaments you send out or buy some adorable ones, just make sure they’re as Southern as possible and email Emily by Monday, November 19!

Last year, we were super excited to hold our very first Gingerbread Barn Building Competition. Dozens of our wonderful readers (donning Christmas aprons, no less), gathered with us at the Carolina Inn to frost, assemble, decorate (and eat) the best gingerbread barn below the Mason-Dixon. This year, we’re determined to put our improved frosting skills to the test. Join us, won’t you? All you have to bring is your game face. RSVP by emailing me with “Gingerbread Barn Building” in the subject line.

I’m really excited for the coming weeks and getting the chance to meet more of you! We’ll be keeping you updated on these events as the countdown to the holidays commences, so keep an eye open for them!

Has anyone else found their car to be a sickly pollen-colored yellow this week? I love that spring is here, but I find myself holding back on taking Lola (Yes, I did name my car. Has anyone else?) to the car wash twice a day.

Thankfully, the blog is not subject to weather conditions and it’s been perfectly lovely all week! Of course, we like to socialize outside of the office, too. If you’re interested in meeting the Southern Weddings ladies and hearing all about our history and what’s to come, join us at our meeting on Monday at UNC! The Carolina Association of Future Magazine Editors is hosting us. You can RSVP here. We’d love to meet you!

We started Monday off with a sweet ring pillow alternative. We love the sentiment attached to this idea.

We were thrilled to welcome March’s Southern Bride of the Month, Ali to the blog! Her Gator engagement photos might look familiar to you!

We love these photos of our newly engaged readers! Give them a big congrats right here.

I’m so excited for our next Ultimate Southern Challenge! Send us your most Southern and adorable sweets!

We know vendor tipping etiquette can be really confusing, so we’re very happy that Emily put together this handy cheat sheet!

Emily walked us through her wedding registry and gave us some helpful tips!

We’re crazy for cotton at Southern Weddings and we want to share the love! Floral Cotton is pairing up with us and giving away up to 50 cotton bolls!

This week’s featured Real Wedding Gallery was Victoria + Michael. Their dreamy garden wedding still has us swooning!

We’re happy to introduce the newest additions to our Blue Ribbon Vendor Directory! Say hello to Amanda Scott Photography, Blue Eyed Yonder, Cabana Pictures, Cyn Kain Photography, David Murray Weddings, Joe Bunn DJ Company, Julie Cate Photography, Kingston Stables, Stems of Dallas
and Your Special Day!

This week’s beautiful Real Weddings

There are so many details we love about Cee Cee + Chad’s ballroom wedding, including the bride’s veil and the baby’s breath arrangements. See it here.

Sarah + Dan may not have been married in the South, but we give them major kudos for bringing the South to them! See their wedding here.

Have a lovely weekend, my dears! Share your fun plans below!
