As you may have already seen a few weeks ago on the blog or in the Southern Weddings newsletter, we celebrated Valentine’s Day in style–albeit a little early! Armed with the new postcard set from the Southern Weddings Shop, the cutest pink and red decor we could find, and a few gussied-up Southern favorites (biscuits and red velvet cake…yum!), we spent an afternoon writing valentines to our best friends, siblings, bridesmaids, and even our mailman!

Julia Child once said, “A party without cake is really just a meeting!” We used a heart stencil and red sanding sugar to make our basic red velvet cake a little more festive. We also enjoyed Emily’s signature drink, raspberry lemonade, and our favorite office snack—biscuits. A heart-shaped cookie cutter made them especially fitting for our party!

Into the mail, they go! Naturally, this was a group activity. :)

We’re so grateful to our friend, Faith Teasley, for capturing this fun afternoon! Although they won’t arrive by this Friday, you can still get our cute postcard set here–no harm in stocking up for next year!

Did you send valentines this year? We’d love to hear about them!

I love the simple craftiness about this, it makes Valentines Day that much more enjoyable. My favorite part of this has to be the cute little heart straws though!

    Hi-
I’ve heard that my tarts are featured in your newest magazine under a photo shoot for Angela Marie. I was wondering if I could receive a complimentary issue of this publications. If not could you please tell me where I can purchase one. Thanks, Heidi Pittman

It’s probably no surprise that I love Valentine’s Day, and since my affection for February 14 is shared with my lovely Southern Weddings coworkers, we jumped at the chance to create something delightful for this fun holiday! Inspired by the little valentines we used to pass around in elementary school, we’re excited to present our Valentine’s Day postcard set!

We think these are a darling upgrade from punch-out valentines, and love the idea of sending them to your bridal party, sisters, girlfriends, and family members. Each set comes with ten postcards, so there are plenty to go around. In fact, we took the opportunity to dress up in pink and write out a few of our own at a little valentine-writing party we held last week! Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to see the whole thing on February 1, but for now, here’s a sneak peek.

Faith Teasley

We hope you love these sweet cards as much as we do! Order them in the Southern Weddings Shop asap to get them in time for Valentine’s Day!

This month, in honor of all things love, we’ll be sharing a valentine a week from an SW gal. Emily is up first, and this is her love letter to the house she and John are under contract to buy.

Have you caught the love letter bug? Check out More Love Letters, an organization after our own hearts. Their goal? To turn your best love letter into a lamp to light the path of someone who needs to read it. Find out more here.
