As y’all know, I always read the story of each couple before beginning my intros, and it’s absolutely one of my favorite things about writing Real Wedding posts. Well, Kristin + Travis’ story had me smiling from ear to ear before I was even half way through! This adorable duo truly fell in love at first sight, and I can’t help but get a little giddy when I read about the power of love. Especially when Kristin describes herself as “one smitten kitten!”. I die over the cuteness!

Moving onto the gorgeous details that Rodeo & Co. captured, I still can’t help but smile: the love that these two have for each other is palpable. The interesting part is that this lovely day didn’t take place in the South (I know!). We so often get requests from you darling readers on how to translate Southern style above the Mason Dixon for the weddings of Southerners who find themselves up North, so we’re delighted to share Kristin + Travis’ sweet day as a fabulous example. With Travis from Texas and Kristin from Vermont, the two were looking for a way to combine both familys’ traditions into a true celebration of love. We’ll let y’all be the judge, but I’d vote that they hit the nail on the head.

Cowboy boots + monograms? Yep, that’ll add some Southern flair to any wedding!

Did you decide to do a “first look”?  Nope. I wasn’t opposed to a “first look” because I liked the idea of knocking out some photos (hence leaving more time for us to enjoy cocktail hour!), but Travis didn’t want to see me until I the moment I stepped onto the aisle, which I thought was really cute and romantic.

Tell us about finding your wedding dress: Soooo yeah, it was the very first dress I tried on! I always thought those girls were crazy because who wouldn’t want to drag out the dress hunting process?! I wasn’t even sure of the exact style, but I knew I wanted the dress to be simple, whimsical and have a little something that made it unique. And I did not want any bling. I saw it within 30 seconds of walking into the boutique – a ball gown (but not overly poofy), sweetheart neck, zero bling, and this gorgeous flower that made the dress both whimsical and unique (in my opinion)! Of course, I wasn’t certain it was “the dress” until I stepped into the waiting room and tears started to flow.

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? The church we were married in was built in the 1800s and did not have air conditioning. It was unseasonably hot that day, so everyone was pretty toasty, especially poor Travis in his three-piece suite!  About half way into the ceremony, Travis is literally dripping sweat. It then occurred to me that my “something old” was a white handkerchief from my great grandmother, which happened to be in the pocket of my dress (did I mention the dress had pockets?! Amazing). Travis was grateful when I whipped out the hanky, and I have a feeling my great grandmother was looking down on us and smiling.

Describe your wedding flowers: I was obsessed with all of them. I love contrasting textures/shapes, so chose billy balls for my pop of color and had them hand-painted orange. I incorporated gorgeous white peonies into my bouquet as well as scabiosa pods to add the contrast. I kept the bridesmaids’ bouquets simple with just billy balls and dusty miller and LOVED how they came out — so simple, but still very quirky and unique. For the church flowers, I scattered antique teal jars throughout with one or two peonies. They were understated and beautiful, which added to the overall rustic feel of the ceremony.

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration?  What was Southern about your wedding? There was quite a bit! In West Dover, Vermont, we have “The Moover,” which is a free bus that drives around town and is painted like a cow. You can’t get much more Vermont than that! I charted a Moover for the day of the wedding to transport the wedding party and drive guests back to their hotel after the reception. For our signature cocktails, we served a “Vermont Country Lemonade” for as “her choice,” and a “Texas Martini” for “his choice.” Also, all the groomsmen, including Travis, wore cowboy boots. I even busted mine out halfway through the reception!

OK, these little ones are so stinkin’ adorable! I mean the flower girl is having a full-on dance party!

Describe your wedding cake or dessert: We had carrot cake for the bottom layer and vanilla with strawberry crème for the top two layers. All of it was coated in a delicious cream cheese frosting. Everything is better with a cream cheese frosting, in my opinion! I incorporated peonies and billy balls in a cascade and added an adorable rustic topper from Etsy. The overall look was whimsical, playful and rustic.

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story. “We met at work” simply does not do our introduction justice. Not to mention, it’s very difficult to define our actual introduction…so bear with me! Travis and graduated from different colleges in 2007 and got jobs working for the same PR firm, Lois Paul & Partners. On my first day of work, I decided to hop on the company directory to look up some employee profiles and acclimate myself with the “who’s who” of the company. Well, during this quest I stumbled upon a profile (and picture) of one, Travis Williams. I stopped dead. “Helleeeww, Travis!” I said in my head (literally). It was only moments later that the HR head popped into my cube to take me on tour of the office and do introductions. Clearly, the first thing that popped into my head was, “I wonder where Travis sits!?”  After about 30 introductions and no Travis to be found, we had come full circle back to my desk. Disappointed, I hopped back on his profile and noticed a very important detail I had overlooked: “Travis Williams, location: Austin, TX.” I was in the Boston office, and he was in the Austin office. Fast forward seven months. LP&P was pitching a new video conferencing technology and Travis and I were both chosen for the pitch. As soon as I saw the roster, feelings from my first day at work came flooding back. Luckily, because the business we were pitching was a video conferencing technology, we actually worked on the pitch via web cam. Seeing Travis “in person” officially sealed the deal for me. I was one smitten kitten! But seriously, what could be in the cards for two people living 2,000 miles apart? Fast forward two months. We lost the pitch. Not going to lie, I was more disappointed that I wouldn’t be working with Travis than actually loosing the business. However, what a perfect opportunity to email Travis and say how great it was working with him! So, I made the first move (Travis may tell you different) and sent Travis a message via Facebook. After several casual (yet slightly flirty) Facebook emails, I was busy at work one day when our internal IM system popped up on my screen with a message from Travis. “Hi”, he said. I broke into a sweat. Grinning like a 12-year-old, I replied, “Hi.” Little did I know that this simple exchange was the start to something amazing. Fast forward (another) two months. Our IM-ing had eventually developed into a daily occurrence. He learned that I grew up in a small town in Vermont, and I learned that he was born outside Los Angeles and grew up near Dallas. We had a connection unlike anything I had experienced.  By this point it was around June 2008. One day we were chatting and Travis said, “What are you doing for July 4th? I’ve never been to Boston.” And so, Travis booked a flight to Boston (his first time ever to the East Coast) for the fourth of July. The first time I actually “met” Travis face-to-face was when I picked him up from Logan airport. I could go on for much longer than I already have about our official introduction at the airport (I may or may not have been so nervous that I lost my car in the parking lot and backed into a BMW). To sum it up, it was quite literally love at first sight. Travis officially asked me to be his girlfriend that first week on July 7th, 2008 (I don’t need to tell you what my answer was). To most, the idea of starting a relationship long-distance was crazy – and if the situation were reverse, I would have agreed – but we both knew that what we had only came once in a lifetime.
Describe the proposal. Travis and I were in Vermont over Christmas. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much snow on the ground, and Travis insisted on reminding me of this every hour. Travis: “When is it going to snow?!?!” Kristen: “Seriously, Travis? We’re not here just to snowboard, we’re here to be with family!” Little did I know, Travis had other reasons for wanting the snow. Finally, on the night of December 26, we got the snow storm that Travis had been waiting for. Once it started coming down pretty hard, Travis suggested we go outside to play. We got all bundled up, and trudged down to my frozen pond. After a few minutes and several snow angels, Travis got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. After I stopped crying and screaming “Are you serious?!?” my response was, “OF COURSE!” My second response was, “Can I see my ring now?!” (Unfortunately, it’s VERY dark in my back yard at night. Fortunately, we had a flashlight!) When we got back to the house, my parents were waiting with big hugs and a toast. It was perfect.
In what month did you get married? June
Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. We had an acoustic guitar player for our processional/recessional music, which gave a super intimate and rustic feel to the ceremony. I wanted to keep the ceremony music traditional. There is something about “Here Comes the Bride” that just pulls at my heart strings. For our first dance song, we wanted something personal (obviously), so we picked “16 Maybe Less” by Iron and Wine (an Austin-native band, which is where we live).
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? I planned the entire wedding from Texas! In the 18 months I was engaged, I only made it up to Vermont three separate times. My sister lives in Boston, and my parents are only in Vermont for the winter, so it was definitely a challenge.
What range did your wedding budget fall into?  $25,000-$50,000
What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? That’s easy – the photographer! The day of the wedding is such a blur already. I seriously wish that I could have been in 50 different places at the same time for every second of that day. I’m SO happy that I had an amazing photographer to capture all the details and hard work that went into the wedding itself, and also the many moments among family/friends that I couldn’t be a part of.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? My advice is two-fold. The first is to stay as organized as possible. I started the process with a strict list of what to do and deadlines to get them done by (theknot.com has a great list to reference). Part 2 is far more important. The day of your wedding, LET GO OF THE PLANNING AND HAVE FUN! No one will know if there was supposed to be a tiki torch lit at 8:30pm, or if the ring bearer was supposed to have a different color bow tie on. Everyone is there to celebrate your marriage, not your event planning skills.
What’s next for you as a couple?  What are you looking forward to in the future? 2012 was a busy year for us. We got married, but we also bought a house and got a dog! For now, we are just looking forward to enjoying our lives together, traveling, and being in love. Babies are definitely in the future, and we are looking forward to that next adventure, but not for a couple more years.

They can be SO horrible so I was psyched when I found the perfect designer on dessy.com. The designer is Alfred Sung and the model number is D500 in seaside :) I actually chose three different styles for the bridesmaids all in the same color/fabric by Alfred Sung and was so happy with the end look! They all ordered them online, actually :)

Andrea + Josh were actually married on Earth Day, and so decided to incorporate this nature-friendly theme into their big day. Subtle details like their “plant love” sign and tree saplings as favors were just a few ways they seamlessly (and stylishly) incorporated this theme. Even Andrea’s gown — a gorgeous floor sample! — could qualify as an eco choice! I also love how their planner Carolynn helped to use their peach + sea foam color palette to sweetly complemented the organic details of their reception venue, The Trolley Barn.

Big hugs to our very talented friend Ms. Melissa Schollaert for sharing this darling day with us!

P.S. Andrea is the sister of Farren, whose wedding we featured here + here! Love keeping it all in the family!

Such a great bridesmaid’s gift idea! These custom hangers are sweet + useful!

And oh my, I love this garter – it even has a bitty pocket!

Our wedding colors were peach and seafoam green. We incorporated flowers with a similar color palette including peach Juliet cabbage roses, peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, and dusty miller for the wedding party. For our wedding ceremony, we decorated the aisle with tree bark-covered boxes filled with hydrangea and roses. We repurposed the aisle decor during our reception for centerpieces on the tables.

I bought my dress and veil at Priscilla of Boston, when they were going out of business. Originally I thought there was no way I could purchase a “sample” dress off the rack — when my mom, sister, and I first visited the store, I thought we were only browsing. It was my first weekend shopping for a wedding dress. I really liked one gown, but I was uneasy making such a big purchase immediately. Unfortunately, there was added pressure since there was only one dress left and it was 40% off. My mom, sister, and I power-shopped the entire weekend and visited every bridal store in Atlanta to displace any fear in my mind there might be a better dress out there somewhere. Although I tried on many beautiful dresses, none compared to the one at Priscilla of Boston. I remember having nightmares about it over the weekend, worrying it might sell. I excitedly returned to Priscilla of Boston the following Monday after work with my mom and sister. Luckily, the dress had not been sold and had been further reduced down to 50% off! When I bought the dress, it was a couple of sizes too large for me, but with some great alterations, it fit perfectly on the day of the wedding.

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? We were actually married on Earth Day 2012 and decided to incorporate Earth Day into our design details. We gave tree saplings to all of our guests to remember our big day. Each tree sapling was wrapped in burlap, and had a name card tied with an ivory bow. My dad built five wooden crates to display the tree saplings for our guests during the cocktail hour.

What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? We did not have any readings in order to keep the length of our ceremony relatively short. Since we had an outdoor wedding, we opted for a unity sand ceremony. In addition, Josh and I shared communion during our ceremony.

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. Josh entered the ceremony to his favorite hymn, “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” Josh’s brother Jonathan sang “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us” by Stuart Townsend during our wedding ceremony as Josh and I took communion. We chose this song because we want our relationship and the love that we have for each other to be a reflection of the perfect, unconditional love that God gives to all of us. Our first dance was to “I Will Not Take My Love Away” by Matt Wertz.

Josh’s dad and grandfather built and painted wooden signs to direct guests to our wedding and to the reception, and my mom and sister hand sewed ivory fabric table runners with ruffle ends for each reception table and seafoam-striped fabric napkins for each place setting. The fabric napkins included a custom printed wedding menu tied with a rosemary twig. Our menus mirrored our invitation design in peach. To give our guests some alternatives to dancing, we included a photo booth at the wedding. My dad built the wooden frame for our booth, while my mom, sister, and I created the backdrop from ivory fabric and ribbons incorporating our wedding colors.

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: One of our favorite wedding details was our grand exit with our guests waving us farewell with fabric flags. Our wedding venue is a historical site and in order to preserve the site, there were a number of regulations that restricted our grand exit options. No sparklers were allowed and our guests would not be allowed to “throw” anything. I wanted to do something visually interesting. My mom, sister, and I hand-sewed flags for our guests to wave us farewell as we left the wedding en route to our honeymoon in French Polynesia! The fabric flags featured small prints with the wedding colors. In addition, I hand sewed pom poms from the same fabric that were strung together and attached with a “Just Married” sign to the back of Josh’s car.

Our reception featured a Southern menu including a biscuit bar with all of the fixin’s, fried turkey and macaroni and cheese. Food was an important part of our wedding that we wanted our guests to enjoy and remember. We had custom cornhole boards painted with our logo, which featured design elements from our invitation suite. The cornhole boards were available for guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour and reception.

Our wedding cake was a four-tiered vanilla pound cake, my favorite! The wedding cake design detail was inspired by the top of my wedding dress. Josh does not care for cake, so for his groom’s cake, we ordered a chocolate cheesecake in the shape of the state of Georgia. The cake included design elements from different cities that have played a big part in his life! For example, Athens, where he went to UGA, was represented by a bulldog. Atlanta included a wedding cake for the place we met and are living now!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. Josh and I met at a singles group at Buckhead Church in Atlanta, GA. The singles group would meet every other week on Sunday nights. I knew there was something different about Josh almost immediately upon meeting him. Josh asked me out on our first date after an ice hockey game group social. I was so excited when he asked for my number. He took me out on our first date the following weekend. The rest is history.
Describe the proposal: While Josh and I were dating, we used to frequently visit Piedmont Park on Sunday nights after church. The park often has free concerts, free movies, or different events that we attended during the summer. On what seemed like a typically Sunday night, Josh suggested we visit the park to meet some friends. At first I was hesitant as it looked like it would start raining at any moment. Regardless, I agreed to go. Josh had rented Magnolia Hall (an event space inside of the park) just for the two of us. He decorated the hall with candles, flowers, printed canvas pictures, and had a bulletin board of letters we had written back and forth to one another. I was so surprised I honestly don’t remember what he said when we entered the hall. I do remember him getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. I, of course, said “YES.” Afterwards, we took a few pictures in the park before heading to Pricci to celebrate, from where we called our family to share the news.
In what month did you get married? April
How many guests attended your wedding? 125
Did you decide to do a “first look”? Josh and I decided to keep with tradition and see each other when my dad walked me down the aisle.

What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? With a seven-month engagement, time was definitely a big challenge. My family handmade many of the items for our wedding. Almost every weekend and many late weekday nights were dedicated to making our wedding vision come to life. I will always cherish the bonding time with my mom and sister as we transformed my parents’ dining room into a wedding craft station with three humming sewing machines. With some blood, sweat and tears, everything was finished on time and turned out even better than I originally imagined. I am so thankful for a talented and selfless family.
What range did your wedding budget fall into? $25,000-$50,000
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? There are so many memorable moments from our wedding day, it is difficult to choose one. We cherish the fact we were able to share the day with the people that are most important in our lives.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? Before you start the planning process, take some time to enjoy your engagement. Planning a wedding can be stressful and the time flies by. The joyful period can quickly be eroded by expenses, expectations of others, time constraints, etc. At the end of the day after all of the planning is complete, there are just some things you can’t plan for. Trying to keep perspective can sometimes be challenging when you are chasing down vendors and managing your guest count, but prioritize building a marriage over planning a wedding. Find a strong pre-marital counseling program, read marriage books, etc.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Josh and I have been married for eight months now. Marriage is the greatest gift. God willing, we look forward to expanding our family a few years from now. In the short term, Josh and I enjoy spending time with each other traveling the world.

Since we were not married in the South, and we are not Southern by birth, there were not a ton of obvious Southern details in our wedding. However, the love and community that rallied around our celebration, and the hospitality we took great pains to show to our guests, were definitely hallmarks of every true Southern wedding I’ve ever seen. Plus, we had BISCUITS! So happy to share a few more details about our cocktail hour and reception…

What was the funniest moment of your wedding? The funniest moment was actually during our portrait session. Tanja and Tia, her stylist, wanted to bring us down to the nearby beach for a few photos, so we settled into the backseat of their sedan for the trip. Philip, one of our videographers, concluded that there wasn’t enough room for him in the car (which was true, with my gown), and started to head back up to the reception. Tanja and Tia, however, convinced him to get into the trunk of the car, legs hanging over the edge, and then took off slightly faster than might be advised down a bumpy dirt road with “no trespassing” signs posted everywhere. Thankfully, he made it in one piece, and we were all able to take advantage of the last pieces of beautiful light and a gorgeous sunset over the ocean!

Pretty much anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with “mini food,” so serving a bite-size meal was a given. We didn’t have a full sit-down meal under the tent; instead, guests mingled around small rounds, high tops, and lounge areas, and wait staff circulated with pint-size courses over several hours. Some highlights from our caterer A Thyme to Cook included pigs in a blanket, tiny lobster rolls, a trio of fancy mac and cheeses, and composed plates of shepherd’s pie (with tiny slices of green bean on top!) and “Thanksgiving” during the reception.

Our cocktail hour included a table of “Southern favorites,” complete with mini pulled pork sandwiches, biscuits (with blackberry jam brought with us from North Carolina!), corn muffins, spicy deviled eggs, and Cheerwine! The Cheerwine was very confusing to our Northern guests — most thought it was alcoholic!

Did you have a cocktail hour? We did have a cocktail hour, and I’m sure it was awesome! However, we actually were not in attendance. Instead, we chose to have a picnic for two underneath a huge old tree down the hill from our tent. Our wonderful caterer packed us an actual picnic basket full of goodies from cocktail hour, and we thoroughly enjoyed the half hour we spent together relaxing, snacking, chatting about our ceremony, and marveling over the fact that we were married.

Favorite design element of your big day: It’s so hard to choose, when you’ve spent the last year carefully planning every detail! I absolutely adored our Sperry tent – those flags are so celebratory snapping in the breeze. I also love that we collected all the silver for the reception centerpieces. It was really a group effort – a good friend and I scoured our favorite flea market for months, my Mom enlisted all of her friends, we reused a pile of mint julep cups from John’s sister’s wedding, which took place just two months before ours, and my grandmother sent a few pieces from her collection.
Groom’s favorite detail of the wedding: John’s initial answer was that he doesn’t remember any of the details, only the people (mostly me). Upon further prodding, he revealed that he liked our picnic, the couches in our lounge areas, and “that thing Linda [our caterer] provided at the mac and cheese station” best. In case you’re wondering what “that thing” is, it was a vintage set of wooden drawers she set out to hold the forks! (And it was pretty cool.)
Describe some of the decorations or décor elements you used: I spent a larger portion of time than I probably should have in the weeks leading up to the wedding making an abundance of signage for our cocktail hour and reception. I bought some calligraphy supplies and went to town, learning as I went! I also produced party popper favors, our guest book, our “Quaker” marriage certificate and my signature drink stirrers, among other things.

I handmade the popper favors (filled with candy) for our guests to take home at the end of the night. (With, I’ll add, some assembly-line-style help from John, his mom, his sister, and her boyfriend a few days before the wedding!) We also decided to make a donation to the cat adoption agency where our kitties were from in honor of our guests — we love them oh so much, and couldn’t imagine our lives without them!

Two more projects! Our guest book was actually cards with question prompts like “What is your favorite memory of us?” and “Where should we go for our fifth anniversary?” I’m going to compile them into a book as soon as life slows down a bit. We also asked our guests to sign our own version of a Quaker marriage certificate as witnesses to our vows, which you can read more about here.

My sister and I actually made the wedding cake! We knew the majority of dessert was going to be small bites (to go along with our mini meals!), so we didn’t want to spend a lot on something that was only going to have two bites taken out of it. Sadly, I made a little garland cake topper that never made it onto the cake, but our florist stuck some flowers on it and it looked fine. The best part was our mini desserts – hot apple crisp, chocolate cake with raspberries, and mini fruit tarts (John’s favorite!) from our caterer. We also served each of our mom’s specialties – chocolate peanut butter balls from mine, and chocolate chunk gingerbread cookies from his.

I love dancing, but historically, it has not been John’s favorite activity. In the months leading up to the wedding, we often talked about taking some lessons, but never got around to it. To make matters worse, we were still deciding between two different first dance songs about two weeks out – “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz, and “Beyond the Sea” by Bobby Darin. In the end, we chose “Beyond the Sea,” largely because it is a standard foxtrot rhythm and much easier to dance to than the Jason Mraz song, which is a very quick waltz. After deciding, we watched several YouTube instructional videos (oh yes we did), and practiced a few times in our living room. And then, armed with a few basic moves, we pretty much winged it! The hilarious part is that we received compliments on our performance for the rest of the night, with many guests assuming we had taken actual lessons! My theory about first dances is that it’s always better to look like you’re having fun (and actually have fun!) rather than be huffing and puffing and struggling to remember a series of moves. Perhaps our huge smiles distracted guests from our less than stellar feet?

Adore these two from our father daughter dance, so I included both :)

What was your reception like? It was awesome! The majority of our time was spent dancing to our band, Avenue A. They played the perfect mix of swing, big band, and rock and roll, and had everyone on the dance floor the entire night! In fact, one of my only planning regrets is that we didn’t rent a slightly larger dance floor!
What were some of the highlights? All three of our toasts were amazing. My Dad started things off by reminding guests of the months we spent apart during our first year of college, when John was in DC and I was in Massachusetts, and concluded that we are great on our own, but always better when we’re together. My sisters, who are both physical therapists and admittedly did not get the creative genes in the family, put together a hilarious toast with lessons pulled from their academic textbooks about bones and ligaments. Sounds like a stretch, but the band leader actually deemed it the best toast she had ever heard over the microphone! Our best man, who has been one of John’s best friends for at least fifteen years and mine for at least eleven, finished thinks up with a heartfelt toast that included just the right balance of embarrassing moments. I also very much enjoyed sharing our slideshow with our guests. John and I worked hard to collect photos, choose music, and put it all together, and it was so fun to see everyone’s reactions. Since so many of our guests have known us individually and as a couple for so long, we were able to include at least one shot of most of our guests, which made it extra fun for everyone.
Tell us about your grand exit. At the very end of the night, our bandleader invited everyone up to the driveway for a sparkler exit. (We had wanted to set off sky lanterns, but our town’s fire marshal nixed that idea immediately.) John and I stayed down in the garden, chatting with our caterer and waiting for the signal from our coordinator. However, we started to see smoke go up from the lit sparklers, and figured we had better make a run for it, since we still had to get across the garden, up the stairs, and out to the driveaway, and didn’t want them all to burn out before then! So that’s exactly what we did, and though the sparklers were definitely still lit as we ran through, I don’t think Tanja was quite ready for us! The photo editor in me feels a bit guilty about that!
What advice would you give to someone planning his or her wedding? Do what feels right for you. There were many times throughout our engagement that people thought we were crazy (wanting to serve only “mini food,” having a private picnic instead of attending cocktail hour, making our own cake, flying in a photographer from California and a videographer from North Carolina, etc., etc., etc.), but in the end, they were the right choices for us.

Thank you all again, SO much, for cheering us on throughout our engagement! It meant the world to me! If you’re a new reader and curious, this post links to most of the posts I wrote during our engagement. I’ll also be sharing more details about our wedding, including DIY project how-tos, our budget, and our rehearsal dinner, on my personal blog, Em for Marvelous, in February.

Last but certainly not least, make SURE you tune in on Saturday to see our wedding highlights film from Inkspot Crow!! I may be biased, but it’s pretty amazing :)

Congrats Emily! Your wedding was absolutely beautiful, as are the photos! I loved following along with you during your planning process (and planning alongside you, since my wedding was a few weeks before yours, and we were also lucky enough to have Philip and MacKenzie work their amazing film magic on our day). I can totally see Philip’s Tom’s clad feet sticking out the back of a car trunk!

Sounds like you and John are still floating on post-wedding could nine, as are we!

I am so in love with your mini-desserts, Emily! They sound heavenly! We’re in the same boat with not wanting a big cake that won’t be eaten, but it’s so hard to decide on which desserts to have! Yours were precious!

I followed along through some of the planning on your personal blog and just loved seeing it all put together! Gorgeous! Love that the two of you took time to have a little picnic, I’m definitely going to talk to my couples about doing something like that. I’m sure it was a very special part of the day. Congratulations!
