This week is Gia from {betsywhite Stationery}‘s last color palette post with us. It has been such a joy featuring her work on our blog each week for the past 12 weeks. Even though today is Gia’s last inspirational post you can still view all of her old post here: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X and XI.

Hello everyone! Well, this will be my last guest post here on Southern Weddings – I can’t believe it’s been three months already! I figured I would end my guest stint with a cheery palette…something that reflects the sunny days, afternoon rain showers and fresh feeling the weather brings during that transition from spring to summer.

Thanks again to the ladies of Southern Weddings for inviting me to be a part of the team for a bit and thanks to the readers for indulging my color experiments for the past several weeks. If you’d like to see more, feel free to stop by my blog {Flights of Fancy} any time – I’d love to have you!

The bride and bridesmaids: The bride could carry a colorful bouquet of pink peonies and succulents. A pair of leaf green shoes would add a bit of whimsy. Bridesmaids would look lovely in green dresses of different shades.
The groom and groomsmen: Light-colored suits for the men. Perhaps the groomsmen could wear aloe-colored ties while the groom wears the more vibrant leaf green. Little succulent boutonnieres would add a nice touch.
Accents and Details: Succulents and peonies are such a great combination for centerpieces. Containers of wheatgrass could also be incorporated into the décor.

The Picnic in the Park set is a perfect gift for my sister. She just finished her first year of teaching under-privileged fifth graders, and it’s been a tough year. Now that it’s summer, a cute picnic set like this would help her and her husband relax and enjoy the summer and her well-earned break!

  2. avatar Terrica with Fabuluxe ™ reply

I would totally gift my husband with the Best Groomed kit. In part because he’s hot, and I guess he deserves it too ;)

  3. avatar Felicity reply

I would gift a set to my matron of honor, who spends all her free time chasing a toddler and could definitely use a just-for-her treat!

  4. avatar StephanieLyn reply

I would give this gift to my mom for all of her help in the wedding planning process and for always listening patiently while I change my mind a million times on everything. She completely deserves it!

  5. avatar Genna reply

If I could choose a package for my bridesmaids, it would be the Beach Bum set! We are all going to Wrightsville Beach for my bachelorette party in the beginning of August, so this would be so fun to give everyone. As for myself, I would love love love to have the "Pamper Me" set!! Things have been stressful…planning a wedding, moving out of my house, working with my fiance on a start up website…I could use a fantastic bubble bath, pronto!

  6. avatar Silvia reply

These gift sets are awesome! My recipient would be my dad. His birthday and father’s day are coming up, and so I’d like to give him something special. he loves to travel, and so the man about town set would be perfect for him. On the other hand, if I were to choose a gift set for myself, I’d probably pick the beach bum set, since I am such a beach bum! :)

  7. avatar Eva reply

I love the beach bum bag. I would give it to my amazing friend/fellow bride and bridesmaid in my wedding. I couldn’t have planned my wedding with out her help. She has been a lifesaver for me and could use a this on her own honeymoon next month after her wedding.

  8. avatar the future mrs. smith reply

i’m in love!! i’ve never seen this site before, but it’s so great!! it took a good bit to decide which i want most, but i think "the perfect mix" apron set for the couple is my fave. we love to cook together (he’s a great cook and fabulous griller!), so this would be perfect for both of us. :)

  9. avatar andydawg’s mom reply

I would love the picnic in the park set. This would be great for my hubby to be and me as we celebrate our first summer as a married couple.

  10. avatar Dorothée reply

I love the couple ones. The honeymooners is nice but my favorite in Just calm down. I would thoroughly enjoy with the fiancé!

  11. avatar Mary reply

If I were picking OOT bags for my guests, I’d have to go with "Summer Lovin’." But if it were just for me, I’d have to go with the Honeymooner and snuggle my honey all the way to the ‘moon!

  12. avatar Kate M. reply

What a fantastic contest! I absolutely love all the gift packages from Navy and Lavender. I’d love to have any of them.In particular, I’d love the Sweet Baby Jane package for one of my close friends (and bridesmaids!): she is due to have her first baby in late June and, with her husband being in the Coast Guard and away from home the past couple months, there’s a good chance that he won’t be able to make it back to Washington, DC to be with her in the delivery room. That said, my other girlfriends and I want to make this time extra special for her, and I think she would be so touched to receive this great gift.

  13. avatar Cassie P. reply

Call me selfish, but I totally want Chic Chef for myself!! I call myself a cook but don’t own a single apron. I wind up doing way more laundry than necessary. Gotta have this set….so adorable!

  14. avatar Mireya reply

The Perfect Mix is absolutely adorable!!

  15. avatar Nicole R. reply

I would love to win the Beach Bum gift collection for my sister, niece, and brother-in-law. My sister’s pregnancy wasn’t very relaxing or easy for her and it would be so neat to be able to surprise her with this. My niece will be 10 months and it will be her first time at the beach when my sister and my brother in law take her on vacation this summer!

  16. avatar Emily reply

I love "Picnic in the Park!" It would make a lovely gift for my husband-to-be. We enjoy cooking (check out http://theculinarycouple.com) and the outdoors. What better gift than a beautiful package of picnic essentials to enjoy our favorite treats in the park, or at the lake, or under the shade of a big willow tree.

  17. avatar Emie reply

‘The Perfect Mix’ hands down is my favorite. :)My fiance and I are starting our very own gourmet cupcake business. It should be off the ground and running in a few weeks and these adorable aprons would be just perfect for us to wear while baking our goodies.

  18. avatar Daisy reply

Who doesn’t love the Honeymooners set? It makes me excited to go on my honeymoon!! Napa Valley in October- I can’t wait! We’ve never been on a trip that didn’t have a "purpose"- a wedding, a birthday party, specific people to see. I look forward to sleeping in & taking in Napa while relaxing from our busy wedding weekend!

  19. avatar Elle reply

My favorite would have to be the picnic in the park! I am always planning affordable romantic dates (thank you wedding budget!), and picnic’s are always perfect!

  20. avatar Mollie D reply

No question I’d get one for my sister. I’d probably choose the spring awakening, but there are a couple she would love. She’s probably get the most use from the rescue me. We lost our mother when we were both young and even though she’s 3 hours away and has a husband and two toddlers, she has made herself available as much as I have needed during this wedding planning process. She’s listened to the tears and the screams and has taken time out of her ridiculous busy schedule to even come down and help me dress shop. I don’t really have anyone to help me plan, so her help has meant more than she probably will ever know. Sisters rock!

  21. avatar erin reply

Definitely Beach Bliss. I would give it to my sister who is my maid of honor! She absolutely loves the beach and I’m sure that that’s where her wedding will be!!!

  22. avatar Angela reply

How exciting I did not know about this company. There are so many fun gifts. I have been going nuts trying to figure out fun gift for my girls. This would be great! If I won this it would be a great test run to see how much my attendants would love it. Thanks for the opportunity.

  23. avatar Heather reply

I think the Honeymooners would be perfect, even if we aren’t able to enjoy a honeymoon trip I could still present this gift to my future hubby and create a romantic trip somewhere closer to home.

  24. avatar Courtney F reply

I think I would pick the Chic Chef collection for my mother! She loves to bake and this would be perfect for her!

  25. avatar Laura reply

I absolutely adore the "Picnic in the Park" gift set. I would love to give this to my fiance on our wedding day – we always love to go on picnics together to relax with our "babies" – Kayla and Chester (shelter mutts). This gift would be a great way to show him how much I look forward to picnicking with him once we are husband and wife!

  26. avatar Karen B. reply

I would love to have Girls Night Out for myself. I’ve got two small kids and a husband, and this is the closest I’d get to a real night out for a while!!!

  27. avatar Junage reply

I would love to win the The Perfect Mix apron set for the two of us. It’s absolutely perfect for us because we both love to cook. My FI even cooked for me on one of our first dates and he frequently plans the dinner menu and has things cooking and chopping away by the time I get home from work. I’m the baker so the cupcake apron is even more suited for me!

  28. avatar jfoster reply

Almost all of our wedding guests are from the North and, since my fiance and I met in the south and are getting married in the south, we want to shower them with southern hospitality! I love the Country Charm basket — it fits perfectly with our wedding theme. We are getting married at a historic estate in the country. We cannot wait to show our guests some southern love!

  29. avatar Brittany reply

I really like the Le Boudoir set and the Pamper Me set. I wish I could say I would give it away, but I’m really tempted to keep it for myself! Everyone needs a bit of pampering now and then, right? :)

  30. avatar Moll reply

I should say I’d get the adorable tea themed hostess gift set for one of the lovely ladies throwing a shower or brunch for me, but instead I’m greedily eying the Honeymooners set! My fiance hasn’t traveled much, and we look forward to the big honeymoon trip together.

  31. avatar Sandra reply

I would give the Fall in Love gift tote to my mom and future mother in law. They have been so supportive and listened to all my weddign rabmlings. They totally deserve it!

  32. avatar Jillian reply

I’d love to give my fiance the "Best Groomed" – I know he’d love it!

  33. avatar Amanda W reply

The Jet Setter gift set would be SO great for my maid of honor. She moved out of the country right after I got engaged, and I was so bummed out that she wasn’t going to be able to be a part of the wedding planning process with me. But between internet and phone calls, she’s been there for me 100%, and I love her so much for that! She’s flying in a few weeks before the wedding to help me finalize some details, and I would love to be able to give her the gift set for her long flight home!

  34. avatar Caroline reply

The Best Groomed Kit is such a great idea! My fiance really wants to get a straight shave for the wedding, so he feels extra sharp. He loves the idea of the old lather brushes. This set would be so fun to give him, I know he would love it — and let’s be honest, all this wedding stuff has so many girl things! He needs a little TLC too :)

  35. avatar Trisha reply

I think the ‘Girls Night Out’ Package for my sister whose birthday is coming up!! This would definently help her celebrate!

  36. avatar Tami reply

I would LOVE to have the Rescue Me kit!! It is amazing!Thank you so much for sharing this company!! They really have some GREAT gifts!!! I can not wait to order!

  37. avatar Elizabeth reply

I would gift the Best Groomed kit to my boyfriend. When we talk about our wedding he has always said that he wants to take his groomsmen out for a shave on the day of the wedding. A good shave for him is like a perfect pedicure for me. He’s taking a qualifying exam for his PhD this Friday and he definitely needs some pampering after all the hard work he’s been doing.

  38. avatar Megan reply

It would be really great to get the "Honeymooners" gift set, because not only will we use these items on our Honeymoon…but three months after we get married, the Army is sending us to Germany for three years! Not only will this set help us to look fabulous, but it might also help us to stay a little more organized! The blanket can keep us cuddly warm and the cards can be a welcomed distraction! I’m sure that my soldier would love it all! :)

  39. avatar katie reply

I would love to give my fiance the his and hers aprons! He just finished redoing my kitchen for me and this would be a fun way to celebrate!

  40. avatar Abbey reply

Pamper Me – my wedding is just over one week away and the stress is unbelievable! I’ve planned everything myself and can’t wait to just let go the day before. This is the perfect gift to help me do that!

  41. avatar Lauryn reply

I would definitely choose the beach bum! I need all the help I can get with tanning! I would love to have the pina colada shower stuff too, yum! The bag is so bright and cute too :-)

  42. avatar Brooke reply

I would pick the Picnic in the Park. My new husband proposed to me on a picnic and it’s one of our favorite things to do!

I would love to give "Le Boudoir" to my Matron of Honor. Her one year wedding anniversary is coming up and I know she’d love some pampering and luxury in her life. She’s had a rough couple of months, and I know she deserves a great gift.

  45. avatar Kara reply

I love the Honeymooners set. It would be the perfect surprise on the way to the airport for our honeymoon!

  46. avatar betsy reply

I love the jet-setters and the honeymooners gift ideas. I think either of those would be perfect gifts for just the bride, or the couple. I know I am personally looking for all of those items for my honeymoon. It would be so nice for someone to just gift me with everything I’m missing! Great site!

  47. avatar Ericka reply

I would definately get the Jet Setter Gift Package for my little sister who is traveling to Europe this summer! It would be perfect!

  48. avatar Joan reply

I just received an invitation to my niece’s baby shower in the mail today. The "Shh…" collection is a perfect gift. It is darling and practical. I’m sure Courtney would be thrilled to open it.

  50. avatar Cristal Vasquez reply

I would love to give "the perfect hostess" set to my fiancé’s mother for being so absolutely awesome! She has been fantastic from day one and she loves cute little details like the cupcake napkins.

The Country Charm Welcome Tote would be the perfect gift to welcome my mother-in-law to be to our destination wedding in North Carolina. She is traveling all the way from New Zealand and this will be the first time we will meet. I can’t think of a better way to show my appreciation for her long journey than demonstrating some old fashion Southern Hospitality with the Country Charm Welcome Tote.

  52. avatar Katie reply

All of the sets are so wonderful, but if I had to pick just one, I have to go with "The Perfect Hostess." I would give it to my future mother-in-law because we are both avid tea drinkers. Over the seven years I have dated her son we have shared many cups of tea and it was a real bonding time for us.

  53. avatar Lindsay Brandt reply

I cannot think of a more wonderful way to celebrate a new marriage then with a picnic in the park. Imagine a gorgeous blue sky with soft fluffy clouds, crisp chardonnay and a crusty baguette. There will be a hunk of sharp cheese and some cold pasta salad. They’ll walk hand in hand scouting the perfect patch of grass with just the right amount of shade. She’ll kick off her shoes and they’ll spread out on the blanket that they’ve packed. This is the day I picture my good friend Olga and her new husband Jake enjoying together. I hope that they can relax and do nothing but relish in their new life. If I know Olga, she’ll make something sweet and chocolately to tuck into the basket as a surprise for Jake. She’ll smile as she splits it in two and starts planning the menu for their next picnic in the park.

  54. avatar beth reply

My best friend just got engaged, I would love to give her the "Girl’s Night Out" gift set as a little something extra on her bachelorette weekend. It is adorable and because she loves pink so much, it would be especially perfect!

  55. avatar Paige reply

Love this site! Having grown up at the beach with many of my bridesmaids, I would definitely gift the Beach Bliss bag to my maid of honor. Our bridesmaids will be traveling from all over the country back to our home state for the beachside wedding, and this bag is the perfect "thank you" to get the weekend started.

Hola! Wow!!! I’m so loving this contest and I’m so loving The Honeymooners package and of course I’m so loving my fiance!!!!. It’s funny how now days its not much about me anymore its about US. I notice it when I go shopping i must buy something for my fiance as well that matches. This Package is just too perfect. It has the 2 passport holders for US one for him and one for me. We love to have fun and debate who is the winner (always me) or the looser (him) which the cards are going to be ideal during our trips and family and friends reunions. Our favorite part is after playing we love to snuggle snuggle and snuggle. This package is just made with lots of LOVE!!!

Ooh! What a great site! I love, love, love the Pamper Me set! What a great idea for bridesmaids and friends and family who have travelled a long way to be here! :)

  58. avatar Hilary Roe reply

Without question, I would get the "Winter Romance" welcome tote for my parents room in our hotel. My mom is making the welcome totes for all of the guests, and I think after all of their hard work, they deserve a surprise welcome tote compliments of myself and Southern Weddings. My parents have dedicated so much time, effort, and money towards making my wedding the perfect day for me; I can’t think of a better way of making the day easier for them. :-)

‘The Perfect Mix’ would be perfect for us!

  63. avatar Vanessa reply

I would love the Best Groomed package for my groom-to-be :) He has been such a good sport about all the wedding planning insanity and he likes the old-fashioned gentleman shaving tools; it would be so nice to treat him to a special "thank you" gift.

  64. avatar Ashleigh reply

I love the Perfect Mix! My FH and I share a love of food and cooking, and we would be stylin’ in this cute apron set! Everyone always teases us that our favorite place to be is in the kitchen, but it’s a "recipe" for a really great romance!

  65. avatar Megan reply

My mother-in-law would love the Country Charm set. This would be a perfect gift for her since she is pretty difficult to shop for. But she loves country snacks and this just fits her personality perfectly.

  68. avatar Jamie Adkins reply

This is my favorite contest SW has had so far!!! too cute! I would give the "Pamper Me" gift set to my mother. She has helped me so much over the last 7 months planning my wedding. From helping me decide on a cake to finding the perfect dress, she has been there for every detail! I love her so much and I would give her this as a tokin of my appreciation for all of her support and love! I would use the "Beach Bum" Gift set for myself! The little swim suit bag would come in handy to put wet suits in on our honeymoon to JAMAICA!!!

  69. avatar Elizabeth reply

I love the Pamper Me package! As selfish as it sounds, after encompassing some stressful situations, I think this would be a wonderful way to wind down and forget about the worries of…well…everything!

  70. avatar Nicole Allman reply

I’d pick Vanity Fairest and I’d give it to my very special aunt. She’s had a rough time of it lately but has still found enough time to help plan my bridal shower as well as write out and address the 65+ invitations.

  71. avatar Michelle reply

The "Picnic in the Park" set is nothing like I’ve seen before. I would love to be able to gift that for someone. If I had to choose one for myself, it would definitely be the "Pamper Me’ gift set.

  72. avatar carrieitly reply

My darling husband’s birthday is next month & I’d love to gift him "The Best Groomed" gift set. He loves luxurious products as much as any girl, but is always reluctant to buy them for himself. He doesn’t realize he’s so, so worth it (and a billion times more)!

  73. avatar Dee Shackelford reply

I would totally choose the Picnic in the Park because my husband and I have been married 31 years and spend a week at the beach every year for summer vacation. What a great way to eat lunch on the beach.

  74. avatar Khartford reply

I would choose the Honeymooner’s package, because my fiancee and I dream about becoming world travelers! We hope to start planning at least one big trip every other year.

  75. avatar Meredith reply

I’d pick the pamper me set and give it to my mom. She’s worked so hard to plan my wedding and hopefully she would use it to wind down afterwards! What a cute website.

  76. avatar Jessica reply

i love them all!! what an awesome website…if i had to choose one, it would be "the best groomed" because my groom is so deserving of the pampering :)

  77. avatar Sara reply

The travel kit is great. I would give it to my fiance, who (like me) loves to travel. Unfortunately, he hates to fly! This kit might ease some of his discomfort.

When you hear Nashville, Tennessee you might immediately think country music? Right? Well, now you might just think country music and the wedding of Lacy + Justin.  The two were married at the {Woodmont Christian Church} and after the “I do’s” met their guests at the {Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum} for one breath taking recepetion.  Just take a look at the lighting of the room and those beautiful centerpieces on the guest tables.  Taking care of all the flowers was {Big Events Wedding} who also planned and coordinated Lacy + Justin’s big day.  Other highlights of the evening include the wedding cake by {Dessert Designs} who created a giant strawberry pound cake.  And who came forget the beautiful {Melissa Sweet} gown that Lacy rocked all night.  We would like to thank {Michael Howard Photography} for submitting this hands down beautiful Nashville wedding.  Check all the shots on Michael Howard’s {Photo Blog}.

How did the two of you meet? We met through Lacy’s best friend one night when we all went ice skating. We were at the same wedding two days later and I asked her out after calling two people to track down her phone number.

Describe the proposal: I proposed to Lacy in the Butterfly Garden at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens. We spent the day riding around on a 3wheel scooter.

A date we went on that we’ll always remember: Our first date included: coloring Care Bears at Starbucks, eating dinner with her family, and playing pool.

The weather on our wedding day was: Perfect, we had a snow machine.

Describe your wedding cake: Lacy is allergic to gluten, so we had a gluten free cake for her. My cake was a giant strawberry pound-cake.

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: We loved it all!

What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Use {Big Events} to plan your wedding.

What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Lacy and I are going to Guatemala in the fall to study Spanish for three months.

Congratulations Lacy and Justin! We wish you all the best!
