Franki + Max have that story.  You know the one where they both went to the same high school but Max was Mr. Football Player and Franki secretly wished he knew she existed.  But then later in life their paths crossed and it was Max that made the move on Franki.  Six years later, he proposed and it lead us to this glamourous Las Vegas wedding. The two were married at the {Paris Hotel} where they were paired up with the Paris Hotel’s Tina who helped plan and make the wedding go on without a hitch.  The wedding dinner was catered by {Mon Ami Gabi} and a wedding cake by celebrity bakers {Marie’s Gourmet Bakery}.  Capturing the day was {Spink Studio}.  To see more shots, check out the Spink Studio {blog}.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. He was actually my dream guy since the eighth grade. Embarrassingly, I picked his picture out of the local newspaper as the stud senior football player. Of course he didn’t even know I existed at the time, it was merely a girlish crush. It wasn’t till four years later that we finally would meet at a get together. As he walked in the room, I whispered to a friend, ”Oh my goodness, look who just walked in!!” Never thinking he would be interested in me, I acted cool, calm collected, never even looking his way. When he began walking toward me, I just assumed that he was going for the gorgeous blonde beside me. To my surprise, he was coming over to talk to me. Needless to say, the rest is history and after 6 years of dating, he proposed. So not only did I get my dream guy, I have a wonderful husband!
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? Since we decided to get married in Las Vegas at the Paris Hotel, I figured we could keep it fun and funky. I love ostrich feathers so we decided to go all out. We had feathers in the bouquets, the table setting, and we had also attached the name cards to large ostrich feathers.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: My mom and I went to a boutique {University Bridals} and after looking for hours I decided on the first one I tried on. It was actually the one my mom picked out, but I could not decide right then, so I wanted to sleep on it for a week. The following week, I returned and they had received a new shipment of dresses, so of course I changed my mind. I bought one that was really big and fluffy, but it was really vintage inspired which I loved, but not really my style. Well not even one week later, I realized I had made a mistake. So we went back and bought the original one I had tried on. Although there was a moment when my mom wanted to kill me for changing my mind, everything worked out and I got the perfect dress. Ladies, listen to your mom. They know you better than anyone on this earth and 99.9% of time they are right.
Describe your wedding flowers: My flowers were awesome. They were a mixture of two different tones of deep red roses with white ostrich feathers surrounding the bouquet.
Describe your wedding cake: Our wedding cake was done by {Marie’s Gourmet Bakery in Las Vegas}. They are known as the “bakers for the stars.” They have done Paris Hilton’s birthday cake along with Ivana Trump and Jude Law just to name a few of the long list of celebrities. So it was really exciting when we were able to book them for our special day. We had a two tier cake the bottom layer being devil’s food cake with a white and dark chocolate swirl moose for the filling and a white chocolate glaze and the top layer being vanilla chiffon cake with German chocolate filling with a dark chocolate glaze. It also had our monogram on it in dark chocolate and to top it off…a crystal Eiffel tower. It was simple, perfect and delicious. Exactly what I wanted. Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Definitely the food at Mon Ami Gabi! There is only one word: “AMAZING!” Three adjectives that describe the day are: Exciting, fun, and gorgeous. What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Do what you want! It is your day!! Just know that if you are going to have a wedding out of town, make sure you have a great wedding coordinator to take care of all the little things of the day so you can enjoy every moment. What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Enjoying each other and married life. Getting to set up our new house and all the fun firsts you get to do when you are newlyweds. Also, next year for our anniversary, we are planning a trip to Paris, France, since we got married at the Paris in Las Vegas.
Any DIY items? The menus, name cards, and favors I did with the help of some really creative friends. So if you or your friends are creative, go for it!!!

Congratulations to Franki + Max. We wish you the best and fun in Paris on your first anniversary!

We are back with Marisol + Ellier but this time we are at the reception held at {Deering Estate}. This wedding was planned by {Fabulous Fetes and Events}.  We love the tables!  How beautiful and classic! Catering by {Macy’s} and wedding cake by {Heavenly Cakes}. According to Marisol + Ellier and many of the guests, the cake was the best they had ever had. This wedding was captured by {Artistry Wedding Films} and {Maloman Photographers}. Check out Maloman’s blog post {here}.

The weather on our wedding day was: Sunny with a big blue sky!
What was the design inspiration for your wedding? A chocolate bamboo motif designed by me. Also, our colors, which were chocolate brown, honeydew green, and patina blue.
Favorite design element of your big day: Our flowers and bamboo details.
Describe your wedding flowers: My bouquet was made up of cascading white phalaenopsis orchids. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were made up of green cymbidium orchids. The flower girl pomanders were made of green mini cymbidium orchids. The reception flowers consisted of white hydrangea, white calla lilies, white gerbera daisies, and white dendrobium orchids.
Describe your wedding cake: Our cake was four tiers. The flavor was Grand Marnier with a hazelnut butter cream filling. Chocolate ribbon was wrapped around the base of each tier. The orchids and bamboo adorning the cake were all made by hand out of sugar. It was gorgeous and delicious!
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Everything! The whole wedding came together just as we had imagined it would. Each design element complimented the other, but if we had to choose then the cake would be on the top of our list.
Funniest moment? My husband’s Michael Jackson, dance moves always make me laugh.
Hardest decision you made in planning? Having to cut down on our guest list.
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Glamorous, intimate, and perfect.
What advice would you give to someone planning their wedding? Put as much of your own personality into the details as you can. Try to at least do one DIY item, it makes it much more special.
Best advice or most memorable comment someone made to you during the wedding celebration. Everyone commented on how beautiful our reception venue was. They all also commented on how good the cake was.
Who was your most honored guest at the wedding? Our unborn child that is due to arrive in July.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? Becoming parents is next for us. We are so looking forward to the birth of our baby boy.
Any DIY items? I made the menus, escort cards, favors, table numbers, invitations, bamboo trays, and monograms. I also designed the reception flowers and my lovely coordinator put them together for me that day. Also, my beautiful mantilla veil was made by my grandmother and I.

Congratulations to Marisol + Ellier.  We wish you the best and congrats on the little baby boy on its way!

I didn’t know they had been featured :) It was a pleasant surprise to find this. Marisol & Ellier’s wedding was beautiful. Marisol & I met while I was still engaged so the planning process was about 2 years. I was thrilled when she asked me to be her coordinator and I’m so happy everything came together that day wonderfully. It was my first attempt at floral design and I think I did pretty well LolCongrats to the both of them and I can’t wait to see their little boy!

We have a treat for you from beautiful South Florida.  Marisol + Ellier had been togther for eleven years before taking the walk down the aisle. So when it was time to say the vows, the two did it instyle.  First, Marisol purchased a beautiful {Priscilla of Boston} gown. Then the two chose the amazing {Church of Little Flower} to wed at. More to come in the next post including photos from their reception at the {Deering Estate}.

Describe the proposal: Ellier, surprised me one day while at work with champagne, balloons, and of course the beautiful ring. He almost stumbled onto the floor at how nervous he was while trying to kneel down on one knee. It was very romantic but funny at the same time!
What attracted me to my husband was: He has a great smile and is very caring.
Why do you love your husband? He treats me like a queen and loves me more than I’ll ever know.
What attracted me to my wife was: Her beautiful green eyes.
Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I did all of my dress shopping online and knew exactly which dress I wanted. They had just opened a Priscilla of Boston boutique in Miami. I went in and purchased it on the spot, and I didn’t even try it on!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Walking into the church with my father and seeing my future husband at the end of the aisle waiting for me. That was the best moment.

More to come from Marisol + Ellier!
