Every year, we do our best to fill our annual print edition with advice and tips that will help you not only plan your wedding, but also (more importantly), help you and your fiancé prepare for marriage. We ask every couple we feature how they go about preparing for life after the big day, and were so happy to include many of their answers in V8. Please enjoy their words of wisdom every Sunday here on Southern Weddings!

Grain & Compass

“Craig has an amazing friend and pastor from college who really walked us through the goal and meaning of marriage leading up to our wedding. We were challenged to identify how our parents influenced us, as well as our own experiences, habits, and expectations. The greatest thing we focused on was preparing to become a unified team founded on love and respect–when a wife is loved, she feels respected, and when a husband is respected, he feels loved.”

Our friends from Steel Magnolias claim “the bigger the hair, the closer to God“. I’m not sure there’s a better way put this to the test than with our final 2016 holiday giveaway: six months of blow-outs! The team at The Drybar doesn’t mess around when it comes to TLC for your locks (I can personally vouch for their Southern Comfort style option – even Dolly would be impressed). The best part: with a little care, your blow-out can last for days, leaving you with piles of extra time to cross off a few more wedding planning to-dos, or scoot out on a date night with your favorite fella!

The entire office is disappointed we can’t enter this ultimate Drybar experience. If you feel the same way, and aren’t the lucky one who walks away with half a year of fabulous hair, might I recommend adding a gift card to your last minute Christmas wish-list? ;)

Win: Six months of Dry Bar blow-outs

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Hurry! One winner will be drawn on December 19!

Having spent my younger years on the softball field and in the gymnastics gym, I’m not a dancer, but always wished my mama had put me in ballet class when I was little. Pretty sure this is why I’m a total fan girl of the Barre3 exercise program: it makes me feel like a ballerina without expecting me to actually have previous experience. Beyond requiring no past skills, it’s a perfect way to de-stress and exercise, all from the comfort of your own home (with their fancy online streaming service). Put down your wedding planning binders and push play on a new Barre3 workout in 3, 2, 1…

With 250+ video library workouts, and new ones posted every week, it’s easy to stay challenged. The Online Plus membership also includes how-to training videos (all novice dancers gals rejoice) and weekly workout plans and recipes. I’m a little green with envy towards whoever wins this great experience!

Win: 6 months of barre3 online plus
