We’re working like busy little bees over here on our next (and gorgeous, might I brag!) edition of Southern Weddings! And, well, we need your help!

As you know, the true meaning of weddings is so important to us – so important, that we’re fixing to include the Sweet Tea Society manifesto right in our glossy, so even brides who pick up a copy off the newsstand can get in on the fun!

But here’s where y’all come in. You know what we believe, but now, we want to know what YOU believe. I may be partial to the part about magnolias and monograms, but doesn’t this make your heart light up like fireflies in a mason jar on a hot summer night? Whether it’s naming your future baby after your grandmother’s maiden name, or going the extra mile to make someone feel special, we want to know what you believe in.

Comment below and tell us! We’ll sprinkle our favorite answers throughout the next issue, so please only comment if it’s okay for us to include your quote, plus your first name, last initial, and hometown in print. We’d love to have you join us!

P.S. Haven’t gotten your Sweet Tea Society badge yet? Why, you can download one right here!

hey Ladies. I just water to say that I love this post. And I had to share this with people I know would understand.
I have been through every nook and cranny in my home and never saw anything from my folks wedding other than an album and a gorilla mask (don’t ask). But just this year I somehow stumbled upon a gown bag I had never seen and checked it out. Inside was my mom’s veil, it is perfect and gorgeously romantic. I asked her if I could wear it and she was so excited about it! It means the world to me that I will have that from her when I walk down the aisle

REAL WEDDINGS We are looking for the best of the best in real Southern weddings for print. Y’all know we love what you love – great photography, inspiring love stories and lovely details. To be considered for a Real Weddings feature in print, the wedding must have taken place in the southeastern United States. Photographers, please email 20-25 good web-quality .jpg attachments to our Creative Director, Emily Ayer, along with the following information: couple’s name, wedding date, wedding location, and any vendor information you have (names and websites). We only accept digital submissions. Brides, please ask your photographer to do the above. Please note we do have a strict exclusivity policy and cannot share work that has been featured on another blog or in another publication, and we would prefer that print submissions not be seen anywhere online, even the photographer’s blog or Facebook. Please title your email V5 REAL WEDDING.

Hi belles! Apologies for the delayed start today – let’s just call it a continuance of Memorial Day weekend, okay? I had such an exciting week last week that I can’t wait to tell you about, but the two highlights were the National Stationery Show and producing the first shoot for Southern Weddings V5 (whoo!). Y’all know we can’t give away too much until the issue debuts in the fall, but I have to share a few sneak peeks with you!

The ladies from Poppies & Posies were on site to style our flowers, and it was such a treat to see everything come to life under their talented hands! A big part of their signature style is incorporating fruits and herbs, so that’s what the apples were for. They also have an AMAZING collection of styling and prop items that they shared with us, which must be a huge bonus for their brides!

On the left is Jen Huang, the fabulous photographer who captured everything on film for us. It was my first time working with her, and she was wonderful! You can also see a tiny corner of our table with linens from La Tavola. We’ve used them several times before, but I’m always delighted again by how sumptuous they are in person! On the right is a VERY small detail shot of the AMAZING sugar flower cake that Emily from Lael Cakes put together for the shoot. I am dying over not being able to show you any more from her creation, because it was just that beautiful!!

Above you can see a little glimpse of the environment we were shooting against (pretty!) as well as a few more of Emily’s delicious treats. On the right is McKenzie Miller and her assistant. McKenzie is putting together a behind the scenes film from our shoot, which I can’t wait to share with you all!

Lastly, I just had to show y’all these little guys. Many of the vendors brought their dogs to the shoot, and they were all so cute!

We had some rain in the afternoon, which meant we were all racing around a bit more than usual, so I didn’t get a chance to snap any sneak peeks of our models, but I would be remiss not to give a shout out to Lauren, Christen, and Danielle, as well as Jacqueline and Jeff, our bride and groom, who were fantastic!! It was so nice to meet y’all!

Can’t wait to share a bit more in a few months!
