I think that every week I tell y’all that it’s V5 madness in the office, but every week, even more amazing ideas keep popping up! We’ve been swapping ideas, logistics, inspiration boards and Etsy finds like crazy! In the middle of all of this, we had to give a huge hug (and blog post, of course) to Miss Emily Ayer, our amazing Creative Director who has been with us for three years! Happy SW-versary, Em!

Aside from our going-to-be-giant V5, we’ve been cooking up some other fun features. We’re thrilled to introduce our General Store, a collection of the exact products and details y’all want for your weddings!

Summer always means a summer getaway! Take a look at our little round-up of the best escapes below the Mason-Dixon in our latest from our Summer in the South series.

Speaking of summer things, aren’t lawn games the best? Y’all know how much we love cornhole, so we’re thrilled to partner with SC Cornhole Game to giveaway three full sets! Enter here.

We may be smack in the middle of V5 work, but that doesn’t stop us from having an in-office contest! Check out our Southern Doin’s and join us! We get points for activities like eating red velvet ice cream :)

Real Weddings are our true loves.

Whitney + Sam’s New Orleans wedding helped us gain perspective on what’s important in a wedding and in a marriage. See their Southern shindig here.

Allison + Scott blew us away with their sentimental mountaintop ceremony. See their gorgeous view and read their love story here.

Malloree + Jordan’s wedding was steeped in faith, love and community. See their barn wedding here.

Hooray for good news!

Did y’all catch our first Sweet Tea Society Sunday edition? Check it out here and become a member of the Sweet Tea Society here.

Y’all know how we’re paper fanatics over here at Southern Weddings. We love that Jam + Toast is running a fab giveaway for some adorable invitations! Enter their sweepstakes for $150 toward a custom wedding order. See their Facebook for more details.

Have a terrific weekend, lovelies!

Today is designated field trip day for me and Lara. We’re out and about finding Fab Finds for V5 and getting inspired by all the South has to offer. While we both LOVE this, we’re also looking forward to the weekend so we can let our brains rest and dream up ideas for Monday.

This week, we rewinded to the past and looked back at our favorite highlights from June’s Real Weddings.

Summer in the South isn’t quite the same without a beach trip! Grab your bridesmaids and get away with Marissa’s essentials.

This bride’s beachy sandals stole the show on Wednesday! Are you bold enough to rock these?

Emily’s wedding day details and timeline has been on her mind for months! Take a look at how she worked logistics and priorities here.

Since we’re in the middle of V5 amazing, we knew we had to share a little behind the scenes sneak peek with y’all! Check it out here.

Real Weddings take the cake!

Claire + Nathan’s nuptials made us want to be a part of their bridal party! See their outdoor wedding here.

Elizabeth + Michael’s darling wedding was full of colorful and meaningful details. See it all here.

Whitney + Layne’s wedding was a ballroom reception done right! We love the pale blue details! See it here.

Good News!

We’re sending out giant hugs to Shannon Smith who just launched her brand new (gorgeous) site this week! Shannon was the photo genius behind this beautiful photo from this shoot. See more from her at Vine and Light’s site here.

MORE giant hugs go out to the lovely belles and beaus who are saying “I do” this weekend, including our Southern Bride Bloggers, Melinda and Anne Marie!

Have a fun weekend, my dears!

Y’all have been caught up on what’s been happening behind the scenes in the Southern Weddings office for June, but we can’t forget about rounding up some of our favorite highlights from our Real Weddings! Emily, Marissa and I are here with our lovely features.

FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS: Jillian’s lightly tiered dress looked lovely against the backdrop of her barn wedding and stole Marissa’s heart in the process! Emily was taken with the classic Southern lace that Christine wore, while I adored the sweet white dress that Samantha wore for her getaway.

FAVORITE BRIDESMAID DRESS: Ellie’s bridesmaids were a wonderful example of mixed bridesmaids dresses looking lovely. I love how they comfortable they look, too! Emily and Marissa loved the uniform look. Emily was a fan of Christine’s pale blue bridesmaids and Marissa couldn’t get enough of the ruffled turquoise dresses at Hillary’s wedding.

FAVORITE FEMALE ACCESSORY: The baby’s breath and pink rose hair wreath that Hillary’s flower girl donned was just about the cutest thing I ever saw! Marissa adored another flower girl from a June wedding — the Southern-as-can-be gingham and lace outfit in Jillian + Marcus’ ceremony. Emily’s eye was drawn to the glittery pumps that Austin wore.

FAVORITE MENSWEAR: Y’all know how sweet we are on the beaus and bows on the blog! Bart’s groomsmen’s black and white gingham number took Marissa’s vote, while the glittery wrap from Steven’s boutonniere was too good for Emily to pass up. I fell head over heels for the hip gentlemen in Samantha + John’s wedding.

FAVORITE DETAIL: Oh the details. Our couples are so creative! Sigrid + Bart won me over when they decided to lead their guests to the reception area with giant polka dotted balloons. Emily loved how Jillian + Marcus used painted pie tins as food signs! Of course, the colorful “Here Comes the Bride” banner at Mariangelix + Steven’s wedding won Marissa’s vote.

FAVORITE CEREMONY: Ceremonies are my favorite part of the wedding to read about (other than the proposal story!). The monogram details and classic setup at Hillary + Kyle’s ceremony won Emily over. Marissa loved the outdoor ceremony space at Jillian + Marcus’ wedding. I thought Erika + Jon’s “I do’s” in her mother’s backyard was so memorable.

FAVORITE BOUQUET: We’re always impressed by how unique bouquets can be! The colorful mix of lush flowers from Austin + Steven’s wedding became an instant favorite with Emily. I was smitten with the sweet colors and mixed textures of Jillian’s bouquet (plus that ribbon — I die!). Marissa adored the colorful bouquet that Mariangelix carried down the aisle, plus her pretty ribbon and brooch.

FAVORITE SWEET: Is anyone surprised that Marissa’s favorite sweet was Hillary + Kyle’s classic white and monogrammed cake? I thought Sigrid + Bart’s collection of pink ruffled cakes was adorable and Emily loved the late-night chocolate milk and donut hole desserts at Austin + Steven’s wedding.

FAVORITE PHOTO: This is always our favorite category to pick highlights from! How sweet is the photo of Samantha walking down the aisle? Emily thought so, too! Marissa (and the rest of us) thought Hillary’s sleepy flower girl was too cute to ignore. I loved the joy and community that emanated from the photo of Erika + Jon’s toasts.
