Happy September, y’all! The beginning of the month always means a Real Wedding round-up. Take a look at Emily’s, Marissa’s and my favorite things from August’s weddings. We’re also happy to introduce our intern, Alexia, who is joining us with her picks!

FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS: Bride Lauren chose her dress not just because it’s beautiful, but because it made her feel comfortable. Isn’t that what we all want? It’s enough for it to top my list. Alexia loved the slim-fitting lace gown that Bonnie donned at her North Carolina wedding. Emily was perfectly smitten with the unique and flowing gown that Kelsey wore. Nicole’s backless dress instantly knocked Marissa off her feet.

FAVORITE BRIDESMAID DRESS: We think it’s hard to go wrong with full length black dresses. Marissa loved the way Melanie’s ‘maids looked in them. Emily adored the pretty blue dresses that Nicole’s gals wore and I thought Kelsey’s pink bridesmaid dresses were too fun. Alexia thought the softer pink frocks that Bonnie’s ladies wore were lovely.

FAVORITE FEMALE ACCESSORY: Alexia and Marissa agree, glitter and sparkles win! For them, Liz’s shoes and Bonnie’s bridal accessories were perfection. I thought Emily’s yellow wedding shoes were an adorable addition to her gown. Emily loved Alise’s fluffy lace-trimmed veil.

FAVORITE MENSWEAR: The men at Xaviera + Chris’s wedding were nothing short of well-dressed. I loved their black and grey suits and sweet succulent and rose boutonnieres. Marissa fell for the dress blues that Jake donned on the big day. Alexia couldn’t get enough of the dapper gingham-wearing gents at Caitlyn + John’s wedding. Emily thought the Evan’s groomsmen looked cool and casual.

FAVORITE DETAIL: We are never short of amazing details on the blog. This month was particularly hard to narrow down. Marissa was a fan of Xaviera + Chris’s altar setup, with beautiful draping and a floral cross. Alexia (our resident glitter queen), couldn’t get enough of the glittery place cards at Bonnie + Armon’s tables. We’re sure that the glittery linens at Melanie + Joe’s reception have a reserved spot in Emily’s heart forever. I just loved the sweet printed dinner napkins and rosemary-adorned place settings at Emily + Chester’s reception. Not only was it beautiful, but it was sweet and sentimental. All of us agreed that Alise + Conor’s chair decorations topped the list! Beautiful, sweet and Johnny Cash? Win.

FAVORITE CEREMONY: Alise + Conor’s beautiful church ceremony won Alexia’s heart. I thought Ali + Austin’s front porch I do’s were sweet and lovely. Marissa loved the Southern outdoor ceremony that Emily + Morgan created and Emily adored the lakeside vows of Katie + Mike.

FAVORITE BOUQUET: The wildly shaped fun and colorful bouquets at Caitlyn + John’s wedding were a favorite for Alexia. Emily was crazy about Kelsey’s pink bouquet with its sweet blue ribbon wrap. I loved the pretty purple bouquet that Madeline carried down the aisle and Marissa was a fan of Xaviera’s white blooms paired with textured leaves.

FAVORITE SWEET: We had some yummy treats in this month’s Real Weddings! I thought Katie + Mike’s pink flower cake was adorable. Emily just loved the strawberry pies on each table at Lauren + Jake’s wedding. Alexia picked Bonnie + Armon’s burlap-adorned sweets table and Marissa chose the ribbon-backed table at Nicole + Rob’s reception.

FAVORITE PHOTO: I love ending with our favorite photos. Alexia thought Nicole + Rob’s post-ceremony kiss was lovely. Emily immediately fell for the sweet photo of Ali and her dad at their father-daughter dance. Marissa loved the fun trampoline-goers at Lauren + Jake’s wedding. I adored the sparkler-framed kiss that Ali + Austin shared at the end of the night.

Where can I find that ‘bless your heart’ t-shirt in #1???!

    • avatar Marissa reply

Hi Kelly! Isn’t that shirt amazing – it’s my favorite. I purchased it at a small boutique in Franklin, TN last summer. It doesn’t have a brand as it was a fundraiser with all the proceeds went to the tornado victims. Wish I could be more help!
