Sweet Tea Society Sundays No. 1

by in Main on

Hello, belles + beaus! This is the first installment of a new feature that will run on most Sundays. We’re choosing images that show what the Sweet Tea Society is all about – getting back to the root of weddings, remembering why they happen, and celebrating the emotion and love that drives them. Enjoy!

From Stephanie, the bride:

From the very beginning of this journey on October 8 (when we got engaged), Jonathan and I surrounded our wedding day with prayer. Our primary focus was not on the details of the day, but rather our focus was set on bringing glory to God. Prayer made this focus possible. Throughout all the decisions and “discussions”, prayer was what kept us grounded, especially on our wedding day.

I was so excited on our wedding day. Between running around to see all the flowers, getting my hair and make up done, and taking pictures, I was consumed with the details of the wedding. This moment that is captured in the photo was one that was needed to reset my focus. About 20 minutes before the wedding ceremony started, all of my bridesmaids, my mom, and my soon to be mother-in-law laid hands on me and prayed. In this moment, prayers went up to the Lord that celebrated the friendships and family in the room, the love between Jonathan and I, and the beauty of our wedding day. My heart was so overwhelmed by the blessings that the Lord granted me through those women that I was unable to make it through without crying. Luckily, my friend who did my makeup was on hand and ready for touch ups. Praise God for waterproof mascara, because without it we would have had to start all over. This moment was not only a great reminder of the primary purpose of this day, but it also made me thankful for the women in my life. These women have shaped me into who I am, and I am confident they will continue to inspire me, challenge me, and grow with me for many years to come. I am grateful to have this moment forever etched on my heart.

I am so glad you started this feature to SW! Without our Lord Jesus in the marriage real love will not be glue that builds the couple into ONE. Keep up the great wedding and marriage info, picts, and ideas.
