Gals, the Southern Weddings tree is decked in HIGH style this year. With over 80 participants in our third annual ornament swap, our tree is just full of red and green (and silver, and gold, and blue, and pink…) Southern Christmas goodness.

The ornament swap included participants from 20 states

Before we reveal some of our swappers’ handiwork, we wanted to share the surcie the SW office sent out. With more than 80 ornaments to craft and send, we wanted something simple and inexpensive to make, and light to ship. And Southern, of course! Sierra hit upon our winning idea with the suggestion of a fabric bow tie which Nicole helped turn into a reality. One afternoon of crafting by Emily, Nicole, Sierra, and Whitney, an assortment of fabrics and ribbons, a hot glue gun, and a plate of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies later, we had these pretties!

Yep, they’re a little homemade-looking, but we hope y’all enjoyed them!

Now, on to readers’ finds and creations, which were, on the whole, more impressive than ours. Here’s just a small sampling of the goodies we received over the last few weeks!

Lilly Pulitzer fabric, embroidery, custom monograms, gingham, seersucker, glitter, burlap… y’all pulled out all the stops!

Yeehaw! If that doesn’t get you in the Christmas spirit, I don’t know what will. Big thanks to all who participated — we had such a blast swapping with you gals! If you missed out this time, be sure to check back in November of next year, when we’ll be back with the fourth annual ornament swap!
