With a relationship stemming from minor league baseball chatter on Twitter, it’s safe to say Jessica + Chris did not meet in the most traditional way. But, when it came to their sweet Southern wedding, tradition was deeply woven into every detail. My favorite detail is the Bible Chris’s mother carried into the ceremony — it was his late father’s, and it served as a reminder of his presence and his support for their marriage. What a lovely way to honor and remember him.

On a sweet note, I would be remiss not to mention that Jessica + Chris made their own peach preserve wedding favors with the help of Jessica’s mom and step dad! Says Jessica, “It was a great bonding experience, and we were so proud of the ‘fruits’ of our labor!”

Tell us about finding your wedding dress. 
My mom and I went everywhere in Greenville looking for the perfect dress. I would find one that I really liked the shape of, but find something I didn’t like about the fabric, or vice versa. Finally we decided to drop in at David’s Bridal, where I immediately spotted the dress. I knew it would be mine before I even tried it on — the texture and flow were just perfect for me.

We decided to do a first look because it was really important for us to have just a few minutes alone together before the ceremony and the hustle and bustle of the reception. It was so nice to just take a moment to reflect on our love for one another. The huge grin on Chris’s face was priceless; it is one of my favorite wedding memories.

My mom, my five amazing bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law decorated the entire reception area the night before. A true labor of love! We used a mix of white hydrangeas, blush and white garden roses and baby’s breath for both the reception and the ceremony. The buds were arranged in hand-decorated mason jars and small vases to create a vintage Southern feel — simple, sweet, and comfortable elegance. We took fabric flower pieces from my mom’s veil and attached them to my bouquet as my something old; it was a wonderful way to carry a piece of her wedding day with me.

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. A friend of ours, Johnathan, played guitar during our ceremony since access to power or a piano really wasn’t an option in the middle of a farm field. For the processional, he played an amazing acoustic edition of “Everlasting Light” by The Black Keys. Chris and I went to a Black Key’s Concert early in our relationship and have always loved this song. For the bridal entrance, we selected “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan and for the recessional, “Here Come The Sun,” by The Beatles. Our first dance was to “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. Chris and his mom danced to “I Hope You Dance” by LeeAnn Womack, and my dad and I danced to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra. On our RSVP return cards we asked our guests to “Be the DJ” — such a great idea! Our reception music was an eclectic mix of music that kept everyone on the dance floor all night long. Plus it was great to see when a guest’s song came on and see them rush to the floor in excitement for “their pick.”

My cousin Evan, who ministers to college kids in Ohio with Campus Crusade For Christ, officiated our wedding. It was really special for me because we have grown up together (we are only six months apart) and he understood my personality and desire for a relaxed but meaningful ceremony. He wrote the entire ceremony and we made traditional vows. Evan did a great job relating to Chris and I and even added a personal touch by pulling in lessons he has learned from his own young marriage. Plus, he used his iPad during the ceremony, which was a nice touch for a couple that was brought together by the wonders of technology.

I love the relaxed atmosphere of this photo! It looks like Jessica, Chris, and their entire bridal party are absolutely enjoying the day! Not to mention that light is just dreamy.

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? 
Our wedding was full of Southern charm. We wanted our guests to feel comfortable and at home so that they could really enjoy themselves. Our guests rode up to the ceremony site on tractors — hay ride style! One of the most Southern details was the food. Our wedding was held on an organic working farm, so the dinner we served was farm-to-table style using as many ingredients as possible from our surroundings. We served crostinis with goat cheese and pepper jelly, a salad with organic greens, slider burgers with fresh greens and cheddar, corn lollipops, a mashed potato bar with all the fixin’s, and BBQ chicken over collard greens. Plus, every drink at the wedding was served in a mason jar with a paper straw. We had a fire pit in the reception barn where guests could warm themselves in a rocking chair or toast marshmallows for s’mores. We were all about Southern comfort and good ‘ol hospitality!

When you get down to the final weeks and days of planning, you’ve done everything you can do up to this point to make your day unforgettable. If things don’t turn out quite like you planned, just roll with the punches and don’t sweat the things you can’t change. Improvise and laugh about it — it’s not worth getting upset over. It’s your big day — savor every moment!

Y’all know I believe everything tastes better in a mason jar, and that lemonade looks like a great refresher from dancing the night away!

Describe your wedding cake or dessert. 
Our wedding cake was alternating tiers of fresh organic strawberry cake and strawberry icing and chocolate cake with fudge butter cream icing with a vanilla butter cream that looked as though it had been iced right there at the reception. Our cupcakes were an assortment of four flavors: peach bellini, pumpkin spice with cinnamon icing, green tea, and champagne sparkle. The groom’s cake was a traditional red velvet cake, Chris’s favorite!
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: 
I can’t just pick one! Chris and I made our peach preserve wedding favors with my mom and step dad. We live near a peach orchard and pass it virtually every day. We thought it would be a great idea to make a yummy treat for our guests to enjoy. We purchased two bushels of peaches and spent an entire weekend slicing, prepping, boiling, and canning the old-fashioned way!

We always love a good father/daughter dance, but this photo of Chris and his mama dancing encompasses so much emotion!

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. 
Chris and I met on Twitter, but before you think that’s crazy please read on! We started communicating with one another periodically about small stuff in late 2009, talking about the local minor league baseball team, our distaste for speeding tickets, and the fact that we were both from Virginia and living in South Carolina. Eventually, that led to the need for more in-depth conversations, so we exchanged phone numbers and figured that it was time to meet each other in early 2010. We both knew that the other person could possibly be a serial killer (only kidding!) but we took a chance and found that there was a definite attraction. We’ve been inseparable ever since!
Describe the proposal. 
One summer Saturday morning, I got up early and started getting ready to go look for treasures at a local neighborhood yard sale. Chris is not a morning person, so I was pretty shocked when he wanted to join me on my 7 am excursion. After a couple hours of looking at tables upon tables of junk, we made our way back to our apartment. All morning, Chris had been asking what I wanted to do for the rest of the day, and I replied multiple times that I had no plans. After being asked the question again, I was beginning to get a little annoyed. I turned to Chris and in a very annoyed and sarcastic tone grumbled, “You keep asking me what I want to do, clearly you have something in mind, so what do YOU want to do today?” He dropped to one knee and said, “I want to make it official.” My mouth dropped open and I immediately felt terrible about what I had just said. The rest is history! We were going to have a much more romantic engagement story, but I mistakenly ruined Chris’s grand plans by inviting one of our friends along for dinner the night the proposal was supposed to happen. But I honestly couldn’t be happier with our story… it is very “us”!

What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? 
Evan added 1 Corinthians 13:4-8,13 to the wedding message at our request and my stepfather, Jim read Romans 12:9-21 during the ceremony.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? 
I am a very detail-oriented person and it was hard to narrow down the things I wanted to include in our special day. Eventually, I had to decide what mattered most and eliminate the all the piddly things that weren’t as meaningful to us.
What range did your wedding budget fall into? 
$10,000-$25,000
What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? Our photography. I was especially picky about what I wanted to look back at years from now and see. After looking up every photographer in town, I just knew I wanted Chris Isham to capture all of the little moments during our big moment. His relaxed style was just perfect and he really made Chris and I feel at ease. We could have had a few of our friends capture the day for little to nothing, but this was the best choice we could have possibly made!
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? 
We are excited for what is ahead! Shortly after we returned from the honeymoon in Jamaica, Chris interviewed for a new position and received a promotion at his company at the end of last year. I am in the process of preparing for and applying to graduate school programs and I just changed career paths. We are looking forward to settling into our new house and starting a family in the next few years.

Y’ALL. Before we even get into how much I love this wedding, can we just talk about how adorable these little sheep are??

I had to get that out of my system. As soon as I saw the images in this post, I emailed Marissa and squealed about the furry farm animals to her! Though it’s a huge plus, it’s not the only thing we love about Casey + Craig’s wedding. Casey actually said she had trouble figuring out exactly how she wanted the wedding to look within their five-month engagement. “I had always wanted to get married, but for some reason I always skipped the wedding and dreamed about the marriage itself. Which is good, but not so much for wedding planning!!” Thankfully, Casey’s friends gave her a lot of advice. However, to me, it feels like the couple made each decision based on what they like, not what matched their inspiration board — and I kind of love it. The result feels elegant and easy. Big hugs to Landon Jacob Photography for sharing this one with us!

These invitations kill me. The bold black calligraphy is so fun! After searching fruitlessly for invitations that she loved, Casey actually drew out the invitations herself and then took them to a local printer. I also love Casey’s pick for her bridesmaid dresses. They’re romantic and flow beautifully, but her bridesmaids will probably rock them for multiple other occasions!

Tell us about finding your wedding dress. 
I found my dress at Evelyn’s Bridal in Lugoff. It was the second place I visited, and I’m so glad that I did. They were extremely patient with me as I tried on dress after dress after dress. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, which made starting difficult, but they were so helpful! The dress I ended up loving was unlike anything I’d seen, but still so simple and classic. The bow was definitely a selling point for me because it was different from all the lace that’s in style right now. The buttons also went all the way down the back, which I found so romantic and sweet.

Describe your wedding flowers. 
I love flowers, but I really wanted to keep things simple and classic, so I wanted a lot of greenery and just a few white flowers for contrast. There were white tulips and hydrangeas and magnolia leaves everywhere. Honestly, my favorite of all the flowers was my bouquet. I wanted something less structured but still very pretty, and Jordan really delivered — I loved it!

We did decide to do a “first look” and it was honestly my favorite part of the day. I stayed with the bridesmaids at Old McCaskill’s Farm in Rembert, about a 15 minute drive from the ceremony site, so everyone popped over for pictures beforehand and it made the transition from ceremony to reception seamless and easy (the ceremony was done on one side of TenEleven Galleria and the reception on the other). After all of those were finished, Craig stuck around for five or ten minutes and we got to just be still together and enjoy a few minutes of calm before things got crazy. It was such a sweet moment for us to get to enjoy each other’s company while engaged for one last time. It definitely helped to ease both of our nerves before the ceremony. I was originally concerned that it would take something away from how special my walk down the aisle would be, but I think it actually added some excitement and comfort and reminded me of how completely ready I was to be this man’s wife. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s considering it!


We didn’t have any readings at our ceremony, however we were very concerned about the pastor’s remarks — we wanted it to be a ceremony full of truth about the Gospel and what marriage is really about. Jon did such a great job, and I really think the Lord was glorified. I like to think we tricked many of our friends and family who don’t know the Lord into coming to a service to hear about Him. Ultimately, we wanted things to be about Jesus, not about us.

What was Southern about your wedding? 
One of the biggest Southern things about our wedding was the food at our reception. In the South, we’re big on comfort and hospitality, and as a couple, we wanted everyone to feel welcome and warm and comfortable. So we had a coffee and hot chocolate bar, a mashed potato bar (with regular AND sweet mashed potatoes — seriously my favorite ever), and parmesan-encrusted chicken with macaroni and cheese bites, which were perfectly warm and cheesy and AMAZING.

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. 
As people were arriving, we had Travis and Ashley sing “Forget Me Not” by The Civil Wars, one of my favorites. Mothers and grandmothers walked to “Where the West Wind Blows” by Green River Ordinance, which was very light and sweet, two things I really wanted the music to convey about our relationship. We have so much fun and are definitely goofier than subdued, but there have been such sweet undertones to our relationship from the beginning. I really felt like the music we chose for the ceremony reflected that well. I walked down the aisle to “I Am Yours” by Bethany Dillon, which was meant to be a reminder that even though from the ceremony on, I’ll be Craig’s, I belong to God first. We walked back up the aisle to “Gone, Gone, Gone” by Phillip Phillips. For the reception, we had the bridal party introduced to “Sexy Back” and we walked out to “Ignition (Remix),” which was some of the most fun I had! Our first dance was to Frank Sinatra’s “You Make Me Feel So Young” — it’s always been a song we love, but it grew a lot in sweetness as we realized how applicable it will (hopefully!) be in 40 or 50 years. I loved our first dance. It was appropriately sweet but still upbeat and so much fun!

I LOVED my wedding cake! I had such difficulty discerning how I wanted my wedding to look. I really struggled with wanting to make sure it wasn’t too “pinterest-y,” but I also wanted it to be sweet and cute and very much inspired by who we are as individuals and as a couple. That said, choosing my cake was an absolute breeze. I had seen a picture of a petal cake that I loved, so we basically replicated it with different flavors for each tier. The bottom was vanilla with cream cheese filling, then marble with chocolate filling, the third tier was lemon with lemon filling, and the top was vanilla and cream cheese. I LOVE all things lemon, so that third tier was really all for me, but I also loved giving our guests some options to choose from. I was so pleased with how it turned out. The stand was a big thing for me, as well – I didn’t want anything too big or shiny because I thought the cake itself would be much more beautiful on its own. We found a round pre-cut piece of wood from Lowe’s and stained it dark brown — it was absolutely perfect.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story. 
We met at the beginning of summer 2011, when we had the same group of friends from church and hung around each other all summer. We never had much of an individual friendship until the smoke detector went off in my house with super high ceilings — while I was in the shower! I couldn’t get it to stop and couldn’t reach the detector without jumping from a chair, and he was the only one to answer my phone call and come to the rescue. He’s super tall and fixed it with ease, cleaned my blood off the ceiling (because I had somehow cut myself trying to turn it off) and then sat down and began asking me about myself. That was really when I decided that I thought he was pretty cool. We were friends for a few more months, and then one night my roommates and I had everyone over to watch a movie. One by one, everyone left except Craig, and he and I ended up on opposite sides of the couch talking about everything from our families to broken bones to the things we wanted to do in life. Before I knew it, it was 6:00 in the morning. So he promptly left and I got a few minutes of sleep before my exam that morning at 8:00. We both just found each other so interesting, and he began texting me throughout the day and calling me pretty much every night and we’d talk for hours and hours. One of those nights, he called and said he wanted to pray about pursuing me as his girlfriend. We started officially dating a little while later, and exactly a year to the day after he told me he wanted to pursue me, he asked me to be his wife!!
Describe the proposal. 
I was SO convinced it wasn’t happening that I didn’t catch on, though I should have guessed what was happening. Earlier that day, I had lunch with a friend and I specifically said that I knew it wasn’t happening because we had “plans” with his sister after our date, and that just didn’t seem very indicative of a proposal to me. However, that night I met him at his apartment where we ate dinner that he had prepared. Afterward, he told me there was a “part two” to our date, so we went to his car and he blindfolded me while I sat in the front seat (howwww did I not know?!) We drove for what seemed like FOREVER, and then finally parked. He carried me on his back for a few minutes. When he finally put me down and took off the blindfold, we were in the middle of Williams-Brice Stadium, our alma mater’s football stadium, which seats more than 80,000 people. It was empty but the lights were on, so it was one of the most overwhelming experiences of my life. His speech was short but sweet. We had saved saying “I love you” for engagement, so getting to finally hear those words was the absolute best. I had always said I would never cry, but I bawled like a baby. Then he blindfolded me again and took me to my best friend’s house, where all of our closest friends and family were gathered to celebrate with us. It was the BEST. I loved getting to share one of the best moments of my life with those people I care about most.

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: 
I asked Craig what his favorite detail of the wedding was (just out of curiosity) and his reply was, “You! Your dress, seeing you — you were my favorite thing.” (The perfect answer, right?!) But when all is said and done, I agree with him. There were so many special and fun details that I loved. The mink I wore was my great-grandmother’s and the chandelier in the ceremony space — oh that chandelier, I fought SO hard for that thing! All I wanted was a crystal chandelier for that window, and we couldn’t find one for what we thought was a reasonable price. We found a working chandelier and spray-painted it an antique bronze. My sweet dad drilled holes and we strung thin pieces of wire through them to connect the crystals, most of which had been a part of my great-grandmother’s crystal chandelier. The venue was another favorite. As soon as we walked in, we both said, “Yup! We’re getting married here!” It just had such a warm and relaxed feel, which was something we really wanted. But however much I am in love with all of those things, on the day of the wedding the only person who was there to me was Craig. Seeing him and being with him, that was my favorite part. Because once the wedding is over, your marriage is what’s important and I just felt (and still feel!) so blessed to even know him, much less get to spend my life with him.

What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? 
Staying with my bridesmaids at Old McCaskill’s Farm! It was such a pleasant and relaxing experience. And the LAMBS!! They had the sweetest lambs that we got to take pictures with; getting to play with them was one of my favorite parts of my wedding day.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? 
When I think about my wedding day, I automatically picture myself on the porch steps with Craig after our first look was done, hugging and giggling and repeating over and over, “We’re getting married today!!” It was definitely my favorite moment of the whole day.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? 
Don’t get too caught up in the details. I think weddings now are great because they’re less traditional and give the bride a chance to make things more personal, but I also think that lends itself towards putting a lot of pressure on her to have a very detail-oriented day; I know I definitely felt that. But in reality, the day is SUCH a whirlwind that those things you thought were important just aren’t anymore. No matter what things look like, you’re getting married!! And that’s the whole point.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you looking forward to in the future? 
Right now, we’re living in Columbia and learning how to be married, which has been so much easier than we thought, and the most fun I’ve ever had! We’re still praying about where the Lord wants us to be and looking forward to growing together in Him as a couple and individually. I just know I’ve already learned so much about God’s grace and patience through the way Craig loves me and patiently cares for me, and it’s so great! Marriage has been the BEST.

    I never ever comment on posts (something I’m working on!) but there is something special about this wedding. Not only is incredibly beautiful, it is so heartwarming to see a couple so in love with each other and with God.     This is now one of my favorite weddings featured at Southern Weddings. I love that Casey and Craig personalized so much for their wedding day and didn’t lose sight of what it’s all about. They made their ceremony about Jesus and joining together for a marriage that will last with Christ as the center and foundation. I love that Casey used her great-grandmother’s mink (which is beautiful, by the way!) and her crystals for the chandelier and that dad was a part of that, too. I also love that she savored the moments leading up to “I do” both with Craig and her bridesmaids at the farm. Those sheep are so cute! I love that Craig’s favorite detail was Casey. This is an all-around gorgeous wedding. So inspired by this one. Congratulations and many blessings to Casey and Craig!

    One of my favorite weddings I have seen on Southern Weddings. Which is shocking for me, since I am not usually so drawn to indoor weddings. But Casey and Craig did a wonderful job at planning a wedding that was romantic, classic, and rustic all at the same time. I also loved that their love for The Lord was so evident in their ceremony! Ali + Robert are about as cute as a pup in a little red wagon. Their September “I do’s” were full of details that sound beautiful, but came easily to the couple who just wanted to be themselves on their wedding day. Cowboy boots? You bet Ali and her dad wore them down the aisle, just because they wanted to be comfortable. Of course, it ain’t a proper celebration without good eats! Ali + Robert served delicious Southern fare and treated their guests to a bourbon tasting bar complete with personalized old fashioned glasses. We love seeing bourbon bars pop up at weddings, but we love that it’s extra special to the newlyweds since they bonded over bourbon when they first met!

My bouquet was a French mound style bouquet in varying shades of pinks using flowers such as watermelon ranunculus, garden roses, and dahlias. Lissa used geranium leaves as greenery in between the garden roses and geraniums — it smelled divine wrapped! The bouquet was wrapped in charcoal gray velvet to coordinate with the groom and then was embellished with a broach.

Reading about one of Ali’s most memorable moments (aside from her brother dancing with all of the bridesmaids at the reception) definitely adds another element to the next few photos!

We all still get a laugh out of the momentwhen my bridesmaid, Katie got attacked by one of the horses during pictures.  We were all lined up against the fence, when one of the horses came up from behind and gave her a huge lick up the middle of her back. It scared her to death! The horse then began to start munching on her hair! The candid photos of this are priceless!

Describe the proposal. (From the groom) I was on a work trip to Detroit, and I had planned to propose to Ali as soon as I came home and walked in the door.  On the way home, I bought two bouquets of flowers and I attached the ring to one bouquet. I brought the flowers in and presented them to her with a big smile on my face (happy to see her and hoping she would see the ring), however Ali just put them down on the counter and started asking me about my trip and saying I needed to play with Boog (her Pekingese). For about 15 minutes we talked about my trip while the flowers (and the ring!) sat on the counter.  It was excruciating trying to hold back my excitement. Finally, I got her to start arranging the flowers in the vase and, of course, she starts with the bouquet that doesn’t have the ring on it. During this time I am standing behind her waiting for her to see the ring so I can kneel down and I ask her to marry me.  I see the ring dangling there and I am sure she has seen it, so I kneel down waiting for her to turn around.  She then asks me a question and I answer her from below, at which point she turns around to see me kneeling. Not understanding what is going on, I point to the ring dangling there and asked her to marry me. Of course, she said YES!!!

What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? Robert and I had saved cards that we had given each other over the years for holidays and “just because” occasions. We decided to have my cousin, Katie, do a reading from one of our favorite cards, which was a promise to be each other’s best friend and to love each other unconditionally. We thought it would add a little bit of “us” by doing so.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: As part of our ceremony, we chose to include a “Love Letter and Wine Box” ceremony.  Robert and I included a bottle of our favorite wine (that will age well) and of course, two cards in place of the love letters. We love the idea of adding a new card to the box every year on our anniversary, then having these cards to look back on and to commemorate our love for one another.

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding. For our processional, we played Darius Rucker’s “History In The Making.” For the recessional, we played The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love.” Our first dance was to Railroad Earth’s “Right In Tune.”

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration?  What was Southern about your wedding? My father and I decided to wear cowboy boots for the big day! We wanted to be comfortable, and it seemed fitting. As part of their gift, I gave each bridesmaid a natural linen clutch with a lace flower that was each lined with different color seersucker and was personalized with their name. We wanted cocktail hour to be fun and a good way for people to meet and mingle. We decided to make it interactive, so we had a bourbon tasting bar as well as two signature cocktails using Firefly Sweet Tea and Firefly lemonade vodka from the distillery outside of Charleston, SC. For wedding favors, we etched double old fashioned glasses with the initial of each guest’s first name to use with the bourbon bar.  We thought it would be a nice token for each person to take home with them. We had a biscuit bar, complete with local butters, jams, and pimento cheese.  We also decided to have games such as corn hole and horseshoes — two great Southern traditions! As far as décor for the reception goes, we included black-eyed peas in the base of the centerpieces and used burlap overlays for an added “Southern” touch.  Also, each table was named after a different Southern city, which was displayed by using vintage postcards. This was actually Robert’s great idea! Our food was mainly comfort food such as mini meatloaves in mason jars, pecan-crusted chicken fingers, collards, BBQ, fried green tomatoes, grits, and mini tomato pies. We also had a plated heirloom tomato stack salad with buttermilk and bacon dressing. For our exit, we repurposed cotton bolls from the ceremony décor for guests to toss.

What is the one thing you are most happy you splurged on? It’s definitely a tie between our food and having a live band.  Food and music are two things that can make or break the feel of a wedding! We wanted to make sure that none of our guests went home hungry and that everyone got out on the dance floor!

Describe your wedding cake or dessert: We decided to have a pie bar instead of a traditional wedding cake. We both LOVE pies, so we thought it would be a nice touch that would fit with the theme of our wedding!  We did however, have a NC State groom’s cake, which was red velvet with cream cheese frosting (Robert’s favorite!).

How did the two of you meet?  Tell us your story.  Robert and I met through my best friend, Rhi and her now husband, Dave.  Robert and Dave were good friends from Graduate School at Clemson. I had tagged along with Rhi on a weekend trip to Greenville to visit Dave.  The first night in town, Dave had a group of people over to his house. I kept noticing the quiet guy with the kind eyes. Robert and I bonded over beer pong and bourbon (classy, I know!) and have been together ever since!  Now, three years later, what’s better than two best friends marrying best friends?!

Tell us about finding your wedding dress: I had actually been “eyeing” my dress for over a year, after seeing it online.   We made the special trip to J. Major’s since they were the closest boutique that carried it.  I was so nervous about trying it on since I had been in love with it for so long, but wasn’t sure how it would actually look on me! It was the first dress I tried on, and knew it was “the one.”  I tried on several other styles, but nothing compared!
Did you decide to do a “first look”? We decided to not do a first look! Robert was actually more adamant about this than I was and wanted to stick to “tradition.” He didn’t ask for much during the wedding planning process, so I definitely wanted to honor this request since he didn’t have many!
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? Since we were doing personalized double old fashioned glasses for our guests as well as table assignments, we needed an exact head count and names of the people attending the wedding.  Trying to organize those two details was hectic, to say the least!
What range did your wedding budget fall into?  $25,000-$50,000
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? Make sure to focus on the details that are most important to you and your fiancé. It’s your wedding, so you need to do what makes you both happy! Also, just take a minute to step back and breathe when it all seems to get a little stressful!
What’s next for you as a couple?  What are you looking forward to in the future?  Robert and I are taking our honeymoon to Italy in March, which we’re really looking forward to! We’re also now proud parents of a petite goldendoodle, Pearl, who is such a joy.  Though Boog is still trying to adjust to being a big brother!
