Molly + Ben worried about their guests becoming stressed over travel plans to their Christmastime wedding, but the December fete turned out to be a blessing! The wedding got guests in the Christmas spirit and we have to agree. Photographer Meredith Perdue captured the day beautifully. Gorgeous poinsettias and wreaths decorated the church and provided a romantic backdrop for Molly + Ben to say their vows. Molly made for a beautiful winter bride in Priscilla of Boston, but my favorite parts of her ensemble were the meaningful accessories. The pearl earrings she wore were a wedding gift from Ben, her lace veil was her mother’s and the handkerchief wrapped around Molly’s bouquet was made from the fabric of her mother’s wedding dress and embroidered in blue with the wedding dates of her parents and siblings. Doesn’t that make you love this wedding even more??

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story.
We met about 5 years ago through mutual friends in college at Auburn University. Our friends kept trying to set us up and although we both had secret crushes on each other, we resisted our friends’ attempts. Finally, we ran into each other one night and hit it off. Shortly after that, Ben asked me on a casual coffee date and we have been together ever since!
Describe the proposal. Ben and I and our puppy Wilson went hiking at a state park outside of Nashville, where we live. Little did I know Ben had an engagement ring hidden in the tiny pocket in the lining of his bathing suit-a risky hiding spot considering we were in and out of the water all day! As we were hiking, we came across a really pretty waterfall and stopped to admire it. I sat down on a log petting Wilson as Ben stood at the edge of the overlook with his back toward me. I asked him a random question and he turned around and had a nervous look on his face. Without answering my question, neither of us remember now what my question was, he got down on one knee in front of me and started telling me how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He then held up the beautiful engagement ring and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes! We finished our hike and then returned to Nashville and had a cookout with a few of our close friends! It was a perfect day!
Three adjectives that describe the day are: Joyful, fun and Ben says, “laid back.” I say, “emotional.”
In what month did you get married? December
How many guests attended your wedding? A little under 200
Describe your wedding flowers: One of the perks of having a Christmas wedding was that the church was already decorated. We did add some candles down the aisle but other than that, we didn’t have to add much at all. There were gorgeous red poinsettias up front and wreaths on the doors of the church and in the windows. It went beautifully with our wedding colors of champagne, black and white. The reception flowers and our bouquets were mostly white with green berries and branches. We had a lot of candles too! There was a Christmas tree when you first walked in the reception venue and wreaths on the entrance doors and in the big window of the barn.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: It’s hard to choose just one, but we would probably say our reception venue, the Fairbarn. It is a big restored horse barn adorned with twinkle lights which we felt made it the perfect place for a Christmastime wedding. We loved that everyone was gathered together in one big room throughout the whole night.

Love it. :) After just finishing up with a holiday wedding this past weekend, I can understand this couples concern with planning a wedding so close to such a special holiday. However, holidays are about family and friends, appreciating one another, and celebrating, afterall! What a perfect way to do all that!! Also, I am loving the Anna Elyse bridesmaids dresses {they made an appearance on my ladies at my own wedding!} Love them in that gorgeous champagne color!!
