The final lovely in this week’s trio of engagement shoots come to us from Jeremy Harwell. Jeremy shot Laura + Nate in Charleston, one of his (and their) favorite cities. As he says, “Laura and Nate fell in love there. We went back to the very park bench where Nate proposed, and they brought along their dog to be part of the session of joyousness. Laura also wore her grandmother’s shoes, which her mother had also worn. We ended up at Middleton Place, where their wedding will be held next June. It is a national historic landmark, with the oldest landscaped gardens nestled along the banks of the Ashley River. Laura and Nate are both architects, so this venue is a perfect fit.”

Thanks so much for sharing, Jeremy! Readers, you can peek at a few more images on his blog here.

Good luck with the rest of wedding planning, Laura + Nate!

‘Tis the season for not only turkey and Christmas trees but engagements! And we all know what happens after someone gets down on one knee… an engagement shoot! This week, we’ll be bringing you three different takes on the engagement session, each sweet and simple and stunningly photographed. No awkward props, no awkward poses, just lovely people being photographed by lovely photographers in lovely places.

Today, we’re starting things off with a session from Lauren Larsen. Sarah + Jon chose to be photographed on his family’s ranch, and we agree that they couldn’t have chosen a more beautifully rustic or meaningful location. Well done, you two! (You three, including the talented Lauren — see more on her blog here!)

Thanks so much for sharing, Sarah + Jon! Good luck with the rest of wedding planning!

When this three-part beauty popped up on Bobbi + Mike’s blog, we immediately snapped it up to share with y’all!  Meredith + Jake have a great story.  As their photographers summed up, they didn’t want an urban setting, their clothing choices took tall grasses and fields out of the equation, Meredith has a 50’s vibe (and is gorgeous), and Jake is a ridiculously talented chef who trained in France.  With that criteria in mind, they ended up scouting out several fabulous locations.  The first was a soybean field.  So Southern, no?

Next they headed to an airplane hanger.  50’s groove?  Check!  (And that last shot is just to-die-for.  I almost want to put it on MY wall!)

Lastly, the pair headed to a kitchen so that Jake could prove his chef skills.  After all, he was named one of Food and Wine’s 30 Best Chefs Under 30 (really!  Isn’t that cool?)!

Be sure to check out a few more images on Bobbi + Mike’s blog!

Thanks so much, Meredith + Jake, for sharing your session with us!  We can’t wait to see the wedding!

Awesome! Jeromy and I were seriously just looking at this session on their blog together last night, saying how amazing it is. I read very few photographers' blogs, but bobbi+mike's is one of them. They are incredible photographers! Love that they were featured here. :)
