Hi y’all! Emily and I had a killer weekend in ATL. Loved our hotel, our “assistant” Eliana, the wedding, the groom’s cake, the rockin band, and a wedding first… breaking up a fight during the ceremony. Much more to come, but this wedding reminded me what weddings are supposed to be all about- genuine love, laughter, family, and having the time of your life! Congrats P & J!
Well, we’re back and ready for a BIG WEEK here at Southern Weddings. We’re buckling down for the final days before our print edition goes to the printer. I’m wearing my serious glasses, the music is pumping and we are on fire here today! You have till this Friday to get in on the action. We have a limited number of ad slots available, so jump on it, people! Email Katharine for last-minute ad rates. You can follow me on Twitter this week for submission requests too.
Brides, you are going to LOVE this issue. I really couldn’t be more excited about the surprises in store!
PS- we finally bit the bullet and created a Southern Weddings twitter account to give you one account to follow for the latest from the blog and SW news. As always though, you can still follow Emily, Katharine, Whitney and I for an inside look at SW life.
Here’s to an exciting week y’all!
Excellent :) Great job – Weddings are all about family and friends and when things can come together to be a fun time this is one of the best memories. (too bad about the fight though… :( tha’s a bummer. Following the new SW twitter ;)
The couple thought the fight was hilarious, thankfully. The ceremony was at Park Tavern (gorgeous but near the street). It was a loud domestic dispute, ironically. I ran up the hill to break it up and the guy yelled down to the couple and wedding guests "thanks for sending up your wedding bouncer!" with a few expletives mixed in. There were lots of high-fives and laughs after wards : ) Great couple! – Lara
Looking forward to your "real wedding" stories in this upcoming issue. They were so beautifully written last time. You guys are awesome!
Dear husband (above commenter. Sorry, honey, I just outed you!) who helped write the wedding stories last time. Miss you! Have fun on vacation in LA while we work : ) – Lara
Good Luck Lara – looking forward to your new issue.
Where is the videographer when you need him? LOL That’s what I love about weddings. Expect the unexpected. They are never boring.
Seriously, we could have used a videographer! Would have been amazing to replay. Thanks so much Nadine! xo Lara
