Anniversary posts usually mean we’re writing about the milestones of our happily married couples, and though we like to joke that Emily and Katharine have had their engagement photos taken (see “Katharine’s Big Day” posts for evidence), they’re not actually a couple. Today is, however, their one-year anniversary at SW, and we couldn’t let this milestone pass without at least a little attention. For your reading pleasure, a quick recap of Year One, SW-style:
Katharine headed off to the Bridalbar Atlanta launch party her first weekend at SW with Lara and Whitney at her side. Fun was had in the Smilebooth, the first of many to come.
Back in North Carolina, Emily had arrived, and it was time for dinner on the town, gentlemen in tow.
Things got off to a brisk start in August with our big Watercolor shoot for V2.
Producing four different concepts in one and a half days with four different photographers in the Florida heat and humidity? Talk about a warm welcome to the wedding world!
Next up was September’s Serenbe shoot, with all-star Jeremy Cowart and a crack-team including Joy Thigpen, Amy Osaba, and Scoobie West.
We even managed to squeeze in a mini photo shoot shortly after arriving at the gorgeous property.
Also in September, we teamed up with Eliana to produce Patricia + Jay’s beautiful wedding in Atlanta.
November brought the V2 release party at Bridalbar in Atlanta. It was a whirlwind trip, but great to finally connect so many faces to names!
In January we attended our first Making Things Happen intensive in Dallas.
Since then, MTH has added an inspiring layer to our already-multidimensional positions, and brought lots of long-lasting industry friends into our daily routines.
Oh yes, we also took a little trip to Kleinfeld.
March saw us traveling to Indianapolis for the second Eventology conference.
Again, it was great to meet new people and hear engaging speakers like Sasha Souza and Harmony Walton.
May was ridiculously busy! We produced two huge shoots for V3 with Jose Villa.
We also helped out at an equally huge, equally fabulous Indian wedding for SW’s sister company, Bliss Event Group.
June brought another large and in charge wedding, this time a sweet Southern soiree in Mocksville, NC.
In between there have been lots of post office runs (and receipts to match!)…
…cool new blog features, several fabulous interns from UNC and NC State…
a ridiculous number of emails sent and received…
lots of twitpics, amazing collaborations with vendors…
piles of candy and chocolate, exciting new relationships, and so much more. We can’t wait to see what’s next, and we can’t wait to share it with y’all!
Lastly, this post would not be complete without a heartfelt thank you to a few special people. All of the friends we mentioned meeting above, of course — you make our job fun! All of the vendors we’ve reached out to who have graciously offered their time and effort for features over the last year — you make our job possible (and beautiful).
And finally, Lara — you make our job both fun AND possible, so really, you win. Big time.
xo,
