We love Ashley’s enthusiasm for her couples, the gorgeous way she captures portraits, and her can-do spirit during sessions and on wedding days (born out of her own wedding experience – which is a great story! :)).

My philosophy on the way I run my business is to be someone I personally would want to hire! I am someone who thinks about you and your fiancé not as merely “clients,” but as friends. I love to know what makes you “you.” I work to find your best angles and create a level of comfort that makes you feel like you are just hanging out and talking with another good friend throughout your season of engagement and on your wedding day. I truly care about my couples and want their marriages to succeed…and for them to have beautiful, effortless, joy-filled images to remember everything by!

Name: Ashley Brown
Where you call home: Lexington, Kentucky
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: I have been published on multiple beautiful online platforms, as well as in print and on the cover of a wedding magazine. I’ve also been seen on national and global news stations…not for my own work, but because a tree fell on my wedding ceremony and our wedding video went viral all over the world, haha! I can handle literally anything you throw at me during a wedding scenario, all with a smile!
Location/Coverage: I work in Kentucky, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida, and beyond!
How I got into weddings: This all fell into my lap! Five years ago, I was studying to go into the medical field when I got my first camera. Then my shy older sister got engaged and asked me to take her engagement photos! I had no idea what I was doing, but I had a blast. Quite quickly, my work starting circling around Facebook, I did more sessions throughout one year and shot two weddings, and that’s all it took to make me fall head over heels for the excitement of the wedding day! I was hooked!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The warmth, and the sun that comes through that oh so lovely Spanish moss that drips over every inch of the deep South!
Favorite part of a wedding day? The first look, followed by the bride and groom portraits! I love that moment when my couples see each other for the first time and have a moment to actually talk and gush over how awesome the other one looks! We are ALL so giddy and excited in that 1-2 hour period and I think some of the best images come out of those times of pure excitement and peace before you see everyone else.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Go with the flow! SOMETHING will run off schedule or not go completely “as planned,” I promise. Don’t get caught up and take mental notes on the little things that go “wrong”–instead, take note of the people around you, the butterflies of happy nerves in your stomach, and the hugs–ALL of the hugs–coming at you all day long!
Dream travel destination? Italy or Greece
Favorite Southern city? Charleston, South Carolina
Early bird or night owl? Early bird–give me a great breakfast, a big ol’ coffee, and a good book in the morning and I’ll be a happy lady!
Favorite pie flavor? Pumpkin
Favorite biscuit topping? No toppings, actually–just the fresh-out-of-the-oven biscuit! :)
