Southern Weddings

Minimal, natural, joyful, intimate. That’s basically the goal summed up into four words. I may ask you to stand here or there, fix your hair or tell you what to do with your hands, but I want you to feel comfortable, happy, and exactly like yourself. My hope is that I leave you with photographs that are perfectly and uniquely you — helping you and your new mate to relive all the emotion you felt that day over and over. I love celebrating marriage, and I love finding the details that make every union distinct. To me, it’s the details that really tell the story.

How I got into weddings: I originally learned photography in a dark room studio developing my own film. A few years later I bought my first DSLR. A few years after that I started taking pictures for bloggers and graduating seniors. Then I did one wedding, and then another, and then it all just started to fall into place.
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The kindness. I love the sweet Southern hospitality.
Favorite part of a wedding day? When the bride decides to do a first look with her dad, it’s always my favorite part. I also love taking portraits of the bride and groom right after the ceremony because there’s such a giddy-can’t-stop-smiling happiness to both of them.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Remember that your wedding day is only the first of many, many best days ahead with your new husband/wife. The best is yet to come!
