Name: Davy Whitener
Where you call home: Atlanta
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: This is hard, as I am not the best at speaking highly of myself. Essentially, I’m so blessed to have been able to do what I love for so long, and to make lasting relationships along the way. God has provided for us so that my wife Lydia can stay home with our three babies (plus one on the way!). Having my work published is icing on the cake. I’m so excited to see what’s in store for the future!
Location/Coverage: We love traveling anywhere on the globe!
How I got into weddings: A fellow photographer/friend mentored me when I was only 12 years old. This lead to the first wedding I photographed at age 17. It grew from there…
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The sweet people! All that Southern hospitality can’t be beat!
Favorite part of a wedding day? The father-daughter dance always gets me. I usually tear up thinking about my two baby girls, even though it’s a long way away!
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Keep the Lord the center of your marriage. Everything else will fall into place when your eyes are on Him. Also, guys, kiss your bride every night and tell her you love her.
Dream travel destination? So many! New Zealand, Italy, Iceland…
Favorite Southern city? Charleston
Early bird or night owl? 50/50… I’m an odd bird… depends on my mood.
Favorite pie flavor? Key Lime
Favorite biscuit topping? BUTTER
