Be Light Photography is a wedding and portrait photography team who loves what we do! We would describe our style as romantic, natural, timeless, and full of life. We love for our clients’ personalities to shine through the camera, and our job is to make their experience as fun as possible! Building relationships through our business is so important to us, and we strive to be more than just a vendor on a checklist, but rather, a friend, support, and a source of encouragement even after the wedding day.

Where you call home: I am originally from Atlanta, but we are currently living in Birmingham. We go between the two a lot though! :)
Things you’d write home to your Momma about: We are so blessed by all the couples who choose us to capture their big days! This year alone, we have weddings all the way from Portland, Oregon down to Amelia Island, Florida. We won WeddingWire’s Couples Choice Award this year, and have had several of our weddings featured by different publications.
Location/Coverage: Since we are a team, we are located throughout the South. We love destination weddings, and we travel world-wide.
How I got into weddings: I have loved photography my entire life, and after getting married myself, my love for weddings grew. I photographed my first wedding in 2013, and after that, I was hooked! This year, we already have over 65 weddings booked all over the country, and we could not be more excited!
Favorite thing about weddings in the South? The South creates such a fun, inviting atmosphere. We love that our couples usually have some unique Southern traditions that we get to capture and be a part of on their day–it really makes us a feel like family! And don’t even get us started on that warm, creamy light that invades at golden hour.
Favorite part of a wedding day? The moment the bride sees her groom for the first time is something that is always really special to us on a wedding day. It’s such an intimate and exciting moment for the both of them, and we love the looks on their faces as they stare at each other with bright, expectant eyes, knowing they’re about to dive headfirst into the journey of a lifetime. It’s the sweetest thing and we are so thankful we get to be a part of it.
Best piece of advice you can give to brides and grooms? Enjoy your wedding day! This only happens once. It’s so important to soak everything in and take mental pictures throughout the day. We want our couples to remember the details and all of the moments, and we constantly encourage them to be completely present. There is no need to stress out about shoes or the cake. Just be present and fully alive. This is one of the best days of your lives!
Dream travel destination? Australia and New Zealand. Yes, please!
Favorite Southern city? Charleston, South Carolina. There is nothing dreamier than whimsical rows of window boxes and colorful architecture. Charleston embodies Southern hospitality and you just can’t help but feel happy walking its streets. We would definitely live there in a heartbeat.
Early bird or night owl? Night owl for sure!
Favorite pie flavor? Apple pie. Yum!
Favorite biscuit topping? Apple butter
