It’s that time of year again folks! Droves of wedding and portrait photographers (about 15,000!) are about to do their yearly invasion of Las Vegas. Las Vegas has a very special place in my heart.

This will be my third year attending the WPPI Convention and I cannot wait! Every year I’ve met so many great photographers who have since graced our blog and print editions. I can’t wait to see old friends and meet you! This year, you can find me at The Total Package, Making Things Happen…. and a very special par-tay that is sure to be Southern belle and beau approved: Airplanes and Blazers! Our party last year was a ton of fun and this year it’s getting all dressed up! Thanks to the folks at The Flashdance and loads of great sponsors, this is sure to be the highlight of WPPI. Want to get in on the action and sponsor this shindig? Email us ASAP! Want tickets? Get ’em while you can OR win a pair below…

GIVEAWAY: Want to score two free tickets AND a schnazzy Xoelle bow tie for your date to don? Follow the party fun on Twitter and leave a comment here telling us what you plan to wear. (Think Mad Men meets the red carpet meets the best party you’ve ever been to!) We’ll pick a random comment next week! See y’all in Vegas!

Wow, this makes me think of the Boxers and Blazers party we have every year at school. So much fun! I would definitely wear a show stopping dress, like a little 1960s sheath with lots of sparkle. And also some comfortable shoes so I could stay on the dance floor. Or you never know, I could go all Diane Keaton and wear a nice blazer :)

Let’s start the morning with another cover finalist, shall we? Despite some major setbacks (like a model canceling on him the week of the shoot — yikes!!), Skip Hopkins sent us a lovely shoot. I adore the model’s fresh, natural look, don’t you? See more from this shoot in the gallery!

The talented vendors involved:

Photography: Skip Hopkins // Dress: B. Hughes Bridal // Florals: Village Flowers // Stylist: Erin Duffy // Hair and Makeup: Sherita Leslie // Location: Bloomsbury Farm

Hey, SW sponsors: have we got some good news for you!

Shortly after launching the new site, it became clear that it wasn’t just our readers who were head-over-heels in love with SW 2.0, but also our advertisers. Sponsors loved the new, clean layout and streamlined design, the fun interactive features and, of course, the bigger + better ads and revamped Wedding Resource Directory.

In fact, y’all loved the new ad options so much that we didn’t have enough space to accommodate everyone, and we hated having to turn away some truly fantastic vendors. Our solution? Give the people what they want!

Yes, by popular demand, we’ve redesigned the Southern Weddings banner options. To your right, you’ll see we’ve added two new sections to help fit every need and budget.

To go along with our new ad spaces, we naturally had to beef up our media kit, so it’s prettier + awesome-er than ever!

What a media kit? (Like our site, it’s all-new!) Email me!

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: Remember our mega-giveaway to toast the new site? We’ve finally picked our winners for the complimentary blog ad! We’ve compiled all our entrants from various social media plantforms, and, thanks to our trusty random number generator, have picked Gina Leigh, Trevor Christensen and Ellie Photography to receive a complimentary three-month listing in our redesigned Wedding Resource Gallery“.

Winners, email me to claim your prize and get started on your ad
