Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

As y’all are reading this, I’ll be on my way home to Texas! One of my good friends from high school is getting married this weekend, conveniently in the same area where my family lives. Even though I look at wedding things all day, every day, nothing compares to being at a real wedding and seeing people say their vows and commit their lives to one another. I am getting a little teary-eyed just thinking about it! We love pretty details around here, but I’m thanking my lucky stars this week that I work at a magazine that focuses first and foremost on how love always wins.

Alright, y’all, I think I’ve been sappy enough for one post–now let’s take a look back at this week’s features and weddings! Our fun summer series continues with Marissa’s preppy pink Dream Southern Summer Wedding. Naturally, she included tons of stylish details and plenty of monograms!

How are y’all doing on your #summerdoin lists? Nicole checked off quite a few during her recent trip to New Orleans, where she stayed at the newest addition to The Honey List, The Soniat House. I’m definitely adding it to my list of places to visit!

For all of our newly engaged (or soon-to-be engaged!) belles, this is a must-read! There are so many things to do after getting engaged, but in her Expert Advice post this week, Emily listed a few steps that new brides should take first.

We are so excited about V6, and hope you are too! We’re still looking for lots of fun things to include, like real weddings, reader models, and lovely pictures of the South (extra points if they have farm animals in them)! Check out our Submission Needs post if you think you may be able to give us a hand!

Three cheers for Real Weddings!

We loved the Southern style, stunning venue, and pretty peach details at Tiffanie and Pierre’s Miami wedding! See it here.

Lisa and Eric’s charming DIY wedding stole our hearts this week, thanks to its clear focus on family, friends, and true love. See it here.

The story of how Laura and John met is too cute for words, and their backyard Alabama wedding was equally sweet! See it here.

A few more things to note!

It’s Facebook Friday, so be sure to stop by for a sweet engagement session by Sweet Julep Photography!

A big congratulations to our friends and Blue Ribbon Vendor members, Adam and Austin, on the launch of their new brand, Blueberry Creative! You may recognize their videography from LaraCasey.com, and you can find more of their incredible work in their Blue Ribbon Vendor listing.

Have a wonderful weekend!
