I can’t think of a sweeter way to start the weekend than with this wedding film. Not only are Paizley and Sidney a gorgeous couple, they are also so clearly smitten with each other! I love that their video includes a few of their post-wedding thoughts, and the way he looks at her couldn’t be more precious. Trade your peppermint mocha for a glass of sweet tea for a few minutes, and sit a spell with this video by our Blue Ribbon Vendor friends, Blueberry Creative!

From the bride:

We knew the day we started dating that we wanted to get married. We fell in love and felt that the Lord had brought us the right person and made it clear He wanted us to get married. We chose August 24 to say our vows, which was the most blessed and perfect day we have ever had!

There were so many incredible details in our wedding, but the one irreplaceable thing was our ceremony site. We held the ceremony between two rows of old Southern oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss. The trees had grown so high that they met in the middle above us to create what we called “our outdoor chapel.” We brought in antique church pews to really make the old plantation feel like a church. I’m not sure if you can get more Southern than that! Before the ceremony, my momma gave me my first real pearl necklace. I wore it during the wedding and I plan to pass it down to my daughter on her wedding day. The Citadel Sword Arch served at the wedding by creating the sword arch that we walked under leaving the ceremony. They were quite charming in their uniforms, which haven’t changed since the Civil War era. My thirteen bridesmaids and I wore corset dresses–we felt like true antebellum Southern ladies, fanning ourselves all day!

We had our reception outside the white plantation house, using both the porch and patio. The food was low country-inspired, with shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes, and sweet potato biscuits. One of my favorite Southern traditions at the wedding was shag dancing! Sidney and I (along with all our friends) are crazy about shag dancing–who could grow up in the coastal Carolina area and not be? We played classic shag music all night and the dance floor stayed full! I don’t think you can have a true Charleston wedding without spinning to “With This Ring.”

Oh my stars, do we have a treat for y’all today! Not only does Jessica and Russell’s wedding include some of the most beautiful, unique wedding locations I’ve seen (a first look in a lighthouse and a ceremony on a boat? Amazing!), this video also includes a few of my personal favorite wedding moments: a touching speech from the father of the bride. The sweetest exchange of traditional vows. A ceremony kiss that will give you butterflies. Alright, that’s enough spoilers for one day–y’all take a look!

From the bride:

Russell and I met over three years ago while working as servers at a small BBQ restaurant in Newberry, Florida. We instantly fell for each other, and our whirlwind of a romance took off! Our biggest adventure came to us less than a year after our love story began when we learned we were expecting. Although we faced many new challenges, the one thing we learned above all was that we could count on each other. Our little girl is the centerpiece of what keeps our family strong–she has made this entire dream possible.

Our wedding was rustic nautical with a Southern flair. The floral arrangements had a wildflower feel with anemones, garden roses, dusty miller and berries. Burlap and rope were used throughout to accentuate both the nautical and southern rustic themes. Some other Southern details of our wedding included the song I walked down the aisle to, “You Had Me from Hello” by Kenny Chesney (chosen by the groom to surprise the bride) and the first dance song of “Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip Moore. The last line of the song reads “hey pretty girl, when I see the lights and it’s my time to go, gonna thank the Lord for a real good life, a pretty little girl and a beautiful wife,” which we found perfectly fitting for our family.

The most memorable moment from our wedding was undoubtedly saying our vows to one another on the sailboat, surrounded by the water and our closest family, with the sun setting behind us. We could not have been blessed with a more breathtaking and romantic setting. It fit us perfectly.

Happy Saturday, belles! Anyone game to start the day with a dreamy Southern fairy tale of a wedding? Meryl and Peyton were married on a gorgeous spring day in Mississippi, and from the abundance of magnolias to the groom in a white dinner jacket, their plantation wedding was the epitome of classic elegance. They also happen to be one of the most beautiful couples I think I’ve ever seen. I love the way their videographer, Nathan Willis, captured so many of their sweet glances and joyful moments!

From the bride:

We were married at six o’clock in the evening, Saturday, May 25th on the front steps of historic Dunleith Plantation in Natchez, Mississippi.

My gown was designed by Carolina Herrera. It was a strapless, A-line ball gown fashioned from ivory silk tulle and mikado with hand-painted lace detail and taffeta floral appliques, encrusted with crystals and mother of pearl disks. The gown’s chapel-length train was complemented by a cathedral-length veil, designed to match the gown with the same floral embellishments, crystals and bead work. I carried a ribbon-wrapped bouquet of magnolia blossoms, David Austin and Juliet roses and cream-colored peonies. Bridesmaids wore blush, one-shoulder evening gowns fashioned from draped crinkle chiffon by Watters & Watters. They carried similarly styled bouquets of David Austin roses and blush peonies.

Drawing inspiration from Dunleith’s richly-decorated main house, the reception tent was appropriately appointed with Regency-style banquette seating and natural linen Normandy sofas. Dining tables in assorted sizes and shapes were clothed to the floor in acorn-colored damask and floral embroidered patterns, reminiscent of fabrics found throughout many of the Delta’s finer antebellum mansions. Centerpieces included loosely-arranged peonies, David Austin roses, ranunculus, heirloom hydrangea, both tea and English spray roses and other late spring flora, all in blush, cream, and varying shades of pink. The entire party scape centered beneath an orbit of crystal, pewter and wrought iron chandeliers suspended amongst Little Gem Magnolia trees, measuring sixteen feet in height and planted in custom-made pickled wooden boxes.

The sweet delight of the evening was the Magnolia State-inspired wedding cake. The towering confection, designed by Edna Welch of Natchez, was a twelve-tier composition of alternating layers of Italian creme cake with cream cheese filling and white almond cake, iced in almond buttercream with caramel filling. The groom’s tables did not lack in their sweetness either and were overflowing with petite jelly jars, filled with Mississippi mud pies, creme brûlée and white chocolate bread and rice puddings, served with demitasse spoons.

However, the evening’s main attraction was the Nashville-based band, 14 Karat Gold. After they commanded the dance floor for over three hours, they saw us into the late night under a shower of fresh rose petals.
