With the countdown to my wedding officially under one year, I figured it was only fitting that this week’s Sweet Tea Sunday went to my wedding photographer! Ryan Ray and his lovely wife, Cary, are the sweetest couple, and they’ll be celebrating five years of marriage this month. We’re so grateful to have highlighted their beautiful work on the covers of both V5 and V6, and we’re delighted to share their sweet advice today!

Marriage will never be perfect because it’s two imperfect people doing life together. Strive to love the other person for who they are, and not who you wish them to be. It’s laying down pride, asking for forgiveness, and reflecting on your own heart instead of your spouse’s. Our marriage has grown when we’ve been willing to sacrifice for each other. It has been lots of laughter, some tears, and ultimately, surrendering everything to, and placing all hope in, the Creator of this beautiful mess we call marriage.
