Despite how quickly July seemed to move past us, we somehow managed to feature a whopping 13 Real Weddings! Emily, Marissa and I are back with our favorite highlights from July. This time, we’re also joined by our lovely intern, Emily Alice who is rounding out our picks.
FAVORITE WEDDING DRESS: I love a traditional white dress, but it’s the alternative wedding dresses that really steal my heart. Allison’s flowery cotton number was perfect for her mountain wedding. It was the big bow on Whitney’s dress that won Emily’s vote, while Marissa opted for the lovely flower detail on Christie’s dress. Emily Alice preferred the all lace gown with a cutout back that Elizabeth donned.
FAVORITE BRIDESMAID DRESS: I will forever be a fan of formal black dresses like the ones Lindsey’s ‘maids wore. It was also an office favorite! Marissa adored the sweet blue frocks that Whitney’s gals wore. Emily was taken with the fun colorful dresses at Elizabeth’s wedding and Emily Alice thought the bow-adorned dresses at Malloree’s wedding were too perfect.
FAVORITE FEMALE ACCESSORY: Who didn’t adore the fun bauble necklaces that Elizabeth’s bridesmaids rocked? It was immediately among my favorites along with Emily’s top pick, Kim’s flower fascinator and veil. Emily Alice fell in love with a veil, too, opting for Lindsey’s lace trimmed beauty. Marissa knew that the cowboy boots under Izzy’s white dress were the ultimate accessory.
FAVORITE MENSWEAR: Y’all know we love our dapper gents! Emily Alice loved the cool styling of Jordan and his groomsmen in cream suits. Marissa adored Jeremy’s chic take on nautical. Emily was a fan of the smart bow ties that Lane’s men wore and I thought the skinny black ties among Nathan’s groomsmen looked clean and handsome.
FAVORITE DETAIL: Emily couldn’t resist the tasty and adorable biscuit bar at Christie + Mike’s reception (honestly, who could?). For Emily Alice, though, it was Kristal + Johnny’s pig ring bearer that took the vote! Marissa immediately fell smitten with the flower and light installations at Kim + Mark’s reception and I couldn’t pass on the sweet and simple reception setup at Allison + Scott’s wedding.
FAVORITE CEREMONY: This month, Marissa’s vote went to Megan + Jeremy’s epic church ceremony, while mine went to the creative program handkerchiefs at Whitney + Sam’s. For Emily, it was the mountaintop vows of >Allison + Scott’s that won her heart. Emily Alice chose the lakeside “I do’s” of >Kristin + JJ.
FAVORITE BOUQUET: This category was a tough one to pare down! I did not stop staring at the bouquets that Kim and her ‘maids carried down the aisle (look at that ruffle wrap!). Emily loved the peaches and blues in Christie’s bouquet (also with some lovely ribbons!) and Emily Alice was crazy for the springy colors and textures in Izzy’s bouquet. Marissa chose Lindsey’s all white rose and peony bouquet, but we all loved the fresh white and greens of Elizabeth’s bouquet.
FAVORITE SWEET: This category makes my mouth water every time! The darling little cake at Kim + Mark’s wedding took my vote for July. It was the team-spirited cheesecake at Malloree + Jordan’s wedding that spoke to Emily. For Marissa, Krispy Kreme donuts from Izzy + Lane’s wedding won out and for Emily Alice, it was the mini cinnamon rolls at Allison + Scott’s wedding.
FAVORITE PHOTO: Who else thought the photo of Kristin and her flower girl was too adorable? Emily thought so, too. Marissa adored the photos of Whitney tying Sam’s bow tie before the ceremony and Emily Alice just loved the photo of Claire’s wedding party jumping on the bed pre-ceremony. I, being a sucker for a great toast, chose the photo of Izzy + Lane at their reception.
