Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

We survived the icy weekend that turned North Carolina into a winter wonderland (well, it looked that way if you were snuggled on the couch with hot chocolate like I was) and have been enjoying the crazy warm temperatures that followed! If you were at the Carolina Inn Bridal Showcase this weekend, you might have felt like it was spring! Gorgeous blooms and amazing vendors filled the rooms at the Inn and we were lucky enough to have a table there where we could meet some excited brides-to-be! Giant hugs and thanks to Heidi at the Inn who squeezed us into the lineup. Make sure you flip through a couple of photos that we uploaded from the event on Facebook.

Southern winter wedding inspiration with pops of red was just what we needed with Valentine’s Day right around the corner!

The finalists in our V5 Photo Contest sure are adorable! So adorable, in fact, that we need your help choosing a winner! Hop on over to this post and cast your vote by the end of the day.

We’re happy to welcome back our Southern Etiquette column! This month, Emily answers the question of the “church shower.”

Epic love stories never get old, which is why we’re smitten with this The Notebook-inspired engagement session.

Real weddings make us happier than a pig in mud!

Laura + Chad’s plantation wedding was beautiful night cradled in a weekend of Southern fun. See it here.

Morgan + Matthew’s wedding day was full of monogrammed goodness and sweet joy. See it here.

Lauren + Rob’s coral wedding from V5 was a Southern fete inspired by elements from L + R’s home together. See it here and here.

Andrea + Tom’s backyard pizza party wedding was a mixture of casual fun and meaningful family pieces. See it here.

Happy Weekend!

If you’re still looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for friends and family, take a look at the newest Valentine’s Day print in the Southern Weddings shop!

Before you head out, make sure you stop by our Facebook Friday to see an adorable engagement session from Danny K Photography!

We have a gorgeous outfit with a white carriage and a stately black and white Shire horse. Please look at our website. Where are you based out of and what areas do you cover?

I don’t know about you guys, but my weekend plans include snuggling under multiple blankets until I figure out how to turn on my fireplace. It’s cold in North Carolina, y’all. I’m advocating for an office field trip farther South, say Key West?

We try to keep things quite cozy on the blog, however, especially since we wanted to welcome our newest Blue Ribbon Vendors on Monday! Say hello right here.

Y’all know we can’t get enough of Plum Pretty Sugar. We wish we could win this amazing giveaway of theirs! Enter here.

We’re smitten with our real weddings!

Jessica + Troy’s wedding boasted the best of elegant barn soirees and gorgeous portraits. See it here.

Savannah + Robbie’s wedding was at once rustic and romantic. We love their sweet style and line dance moves! See it here.

Okay, y’all. We have been waiting for Mrs. Emily Thomas’s wedding for quite some time! Though we’ve seen her wedding in print, we are still swooning over the beautiful portraits and sweet details. See it here and here.

Adis + Victor’s celebration wasn’t a wedding, but a vow renewal on their thirtieth anniversary. We are blown away by the amount of love that shine through in the photos and by their beautiful family.

Hooray for a winner round-up!

Oh boy, we’re just full of giveaways. We’re happy to announce that the winner of our V5 Launch Party Tote is Amanda! The winners of our Family Heirlooms giveaway are Lindsay Rebecca, who won the yellow and white quilt, Luke, who won the red and white quilt, Laura A, who won the multicolored quilt and Lorraine, who won the baby bow tie.

Our Something Old, Something New and My Kentucky Rose giveaways have many hopeful family heirlooms in it, too. Congratulations to Lauren K, who won the cake pull set, Kelly, who won the locket and Amelia, who won the lace headband. More congratulations go out to Ashley, who won the dangle earrings, Jennifer, who won the cushion cut earrings, and Kelsey B, who won the Nina earrings!

Happy news for the weekend!

If you’re in the thick of planning the details and decor for your wedding, hop on over to Origin Crafts. They’re offering 15% off paper lanterns purchases in sets of four.

Let’s give a hug congratulations to Melissa + Stephen, who were married on December 1! Melissa was one of our Southern Brides of the Month and we couldn’t be happier for her. Click over to Landon Jacob Photography’s blog for more from their dreamy day.

If you’re looking for a darling engagement session to feast your eyes on, head over to Facebook Friday, where Cyn Kain is treating us.

Happy weekend to all you belles and beaus!

Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

It’s been quite dreary in our area this week, with rain stickin’ around like honey on your fingers. Thankfully, we’ve been quite distracted with the images on our blog.

We were happy to welcome some dinner party inspiration this week, especially when it’s as lovely and inviting as this get-together from Gibson Events. We picture it translating into one fine engagement party or rehearsal dinner.

Southern blooms hold a big piece of our hearts. We love the bouquets dreamed up for this V5 feature and how they represent the many parts of our home.

The best way to end a week of rain is with a shoot full of sunshine! We adore this bridesmaids shoot the day before the wedding — a perfect way to relieve stress with your gals and get some great photos from the fun.

Real weddings, we love you so!

Fay + Jon’s dock ceremony and farm reception gave guests a glimpse into the place where they fell in love. See it here.

Joanna + Paul’s casual wedding was meant to feel like a party in their backyard. We think the colorful details pull it off. See it here.

Erin + Michael’s lakeside wedding from V5 stole our hearts with the many details that showcased the couple’s life and passions. See it here and here.

Haley + Patrick’s wedding was another one with a warm dinner party-feel. We love their rustic-meets-elegant tented reception. See it here.

Great news!

We are thrilled to welcome the launch of Pressed Cotton, a shop full of lovely items for the finest Southern gatherings! Happily, they’re also found in our General Store. Be sure to head on over to see what’s new.

Don’t forget! Our fab editor Marissa will be answering all of your questions in the Donna Morgan Facebook Chat today at 12:30!

Be sure to keep your eyes open on the blog next week — we’re featuring Emily’s wedding from V5!!!

Have a fun weekend, y’all!
