After only attending a double date for the sake of their respective friends, “the sparks immediately flew!” (Her words, not mine!) Though both Marjorie + Adnan say they weren’t looking for their one and only, fate had other plans for their relationship! But when it came to their big day, careful planning and consideration went into to each and every detail. From each piece of her something borrowed and something blue to swapping out the standard guest book for a wooden bench, Marjorie + Adnan crafted meaningful moments throughout their wedding day, and into married life.

Big hugs to Julie Paisley for sharing the joy of their wedding day with us!

I went all the way to Miami to find my wedding dress. I had fallen in love with Maggie Sottero dresses, and Miami is where we found lots of different stores who carried them. We went to Miracle Mile and went into a lot of bridal shops, but didn’t have any luck. I looked online and found a shop called Brides of Florida that had great reviews, so we gave it a shot. They were so friendly and we felt right at home. I told her what type of dress I was looking for and she picked out a couple dresses for me to try on. I loved them, but I still didn’t get the feeling like it was ‘the one.’ My best friend pointed to a dress she saw on the rack and told me to try it on. It wasn’t something I would have originally chosen, but when I put it on I started to get goosebumps. After discussing how we could change the dress to make it strapless like I had wanted, I knew that was “the one” I had been looking for. Everyone’s eyes were watering. I had found my dress.

Did you decide to do a “first look”? Why or why not? We decided not to do a first look because I wanted to keep the tradition of seeing me when I first came in with my Dad. I had a grand entrance planned for us, so I wanted everyone to be surprised.

Oh y’all, if Marjorie’s dad’s face doesn’t say it all right there, I don’t know what can!

I walked down the aisle to “A Thousand Years,” the Christina Perri song by the Piano Guys. I love this song and the meaning behind it, and the Piano guys do a great job with it. My girls walked down the aisle to “I Do” by Colbie Cailat. They had fun with this song and strutted and twirled while walking down the aisle. We walked back up the aisle to Bruno Mars “Marry You.” Our first dance song was a remix of songs. We started with a slow dance to “Then” by Brad Paisley. Then it went into the Bosnian Kolo, a traditional Bosnian dance, because my husband is from Bosnia. We then did a Bachata, a Spanish dance. Then it went into a fun dance, Soulja Boy’s “The Wop,” and finally the Harlem Shake with the whole bridal party.

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? I think there was a lot of Southern charm at my wedding. The venue was at a barn with lots of horses. All of our decor was burlap and lace. My mom made burlap napkin rings, chair sashes, table numbers, table runners and an aisle runner. We used mason jar glasses as favors for our guests. We had an altar that my Dad, my grandpa and his friend created with old wood, and a mason jar chandelier. The flowers at the altar were in big milk jugs. The mason jar lanterns decorated the aisle. My cake was on a tree stump cake stand my dad and his friend created. My dad also made wooden signs to direct the guests to our ceremony and reception site, and a corn hole game with Adnan and I’s silhouettes. My guests had to sign a wooden bench instead of a sign-in book. My bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots, as did I, and we drank out of our special custom-made mason jar wine glasses.

Describe your wedding cake or dessert. I absolutely loved my wedding cake. It was exactly how my friend and I designed and pictured it. Dream Theme Cakes did a fabulous job! My wedding cake had three different flavors: red velvet with cream cheese frosting, classic yellow with strawberry filling and chocolate chip with chocolate buttercream.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story. Neither of us were looking but my best friend, Coralys (one of my bridesmaids) and his friend at the time were going on a date. Coralys didn’t want to go alone on her date, so she asked me to come with her. She told her date to bring a friend as well, so he did. We both tagged along on this date to the Casbah, only for our friends’ sake, and that’s when we met. Our friends didn’t work out, but we did. It was just fate!
Tell us all about the proposal! We had been together for over four years. It was my 24th birthday. Adnan told me he wanted to go grab a drink before dinner and it just so happened that he told me to meet him at the Casbah. I immediately started to get butterflies. When we went inside, the hostess took us to the same table we had sat at during our first blind date. Adnan proceeded to get down on one knee and ask me to marry him in front of everyone in that restaurant. It was so surreal.
When did y’all get married? May 26, 2013
How many friends, family members, and loved ones attended your wedding? 150
Describe your wedding flowers. My wedding flowers were a mixture of green, coral and white. They also had a rustic look with the twig branches. I used white hydrangeas and coral roses.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was: I can’t choose only one. My mom made so many details of our wedding, from the napkin rings to the aisle runner, the table numbers to the chair sashes. If I have to choose one detail that I absolutely loved, it was our sign-in bench. Instead of having a guest book we would never really look at, we decided to have a sign-in wooden bench that we would use in our house. This bench has the messages and signatures of all of our guests that we would see whenever we sat on our bench. It truly is a daily reminder of how much we are loved.
Did you have something borrowed, blue, old, and new? Yes. I borrowed a pearl ring from my Godmother, Zulma. I had blue “I Do” bride undies from Victoria Secret. My something old was my grandmother’s charm that was on my bouquet. She passed away and it was her favorite charm. My something new was my pearl earrings that my mother in law, Bahra, bought me as a gift.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? The biggest challenge was designing the layout for the barn and figuring out where everything would be located. The barn isn’t really wide, so having to figure out where everything would go and where we would put a dance floor was probably the biggest challenge.
What range did your wedding budget fall into? $10,000-$25,000
What is the one detail or vendor that you were so happy to have as a part of your wedding? The vendor I was so happy to have as a part of our wedding would have to be my photographer. She has become more and more like a friend, so having her there with us on our big day really meant the world to us. She has given us a gift we will get to keep forever.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? The most memorable moment for me was definitely riding in the carriage with my dad to the ceremony site. It was so indescribable what was going through my head. We were holding hands and all of the horses in the field were running over to see us, as if they knew what was about to happen. It was a good moment for us to just breathe and soak it all in before my Dad gave me away. It was such a special moment with my dad that I truly will treasure forever.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? I would have to say it gets hard and it gets stressful, but everything will turn out exactly how you wanted. If it doesn’t, at the end of the day, all that matters is that you get to marry the love of your life. Nothing can ruin that, not even that one minor detail that didn’t turn out like you expected.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you most looking forward to about married life? We are enjoying every aspect of living together in our new home that we purchased a couple months before the wedding. I am learning how to juggle cooking, cleaning and paying bills. The perks of being a married woman! It is all so new to us, but every day is so exciting. We are also looking forward to traveling together, like to Puerto Rico this summer for my sister’s wedding!

Oh y’all, you’re in for a real treat today! Even the title of this post had me excited! Then as I scrolled through the gorgeous photos from Pasha Belman I not only fell in love with April + Nick’s gorgeous design details, but their sweet demeanor and love for each other that seems to pour right out of the screen!

Yes, there are beautiful pink silhouette and monograms details. Yes, there is woodwork handcrafted by April’s father and his brothers, and yes, April’s something borrowed was their wedding date, that was the same as her late grandmother’s birthday. So sweet! And while traditionally, I would mention how adorable it is that April’s favorite part of their wedding film is her 6 foot 8 groom on his tip toes to see her come down the aisle, we all know what we’re staring at! THAT dress!

April absolutely dropped jaws in Ian Stuart’s Libertine seersucker gown! She found her dream dress in none other then Southern Weddings V4! We simply love hearing that, and I still do this day say that the Paper, Cotton, and Flour shoot in which we used the gown is one of my favorites features to date!

In lieu of individual menus, we placed printed thank you notes to our guests and vendors at each place setting. Also, we had decorated sugar cookies in the shape of our favorite southern states NC, AR, SC, and GA. The tag on the cookies read, “Once upon a time an Arkansas boy fell in love with a North Carolina girl. He proposed to her in Savannah, Georgia. Then, all of their favorite people were invited to celebrate at their South Carolina wedding! Thank you for being a part of their fairy tale.”

April, you did us proud!

My something old was a peacock lapel pin from my grandmother, Dorothy Jane Smith. My something new was my wedding gown. I borrowed April 7, the birthday of my late grandmother, Thelma Smith Pridgen, for our wedding date. My something blue was a label sewn into my wedding gown that read: “I found the one whom my soul loves. Song of Solomon 3:4”. The sixpence in my shoe was a gift from my Grandma Dorothy.

Before we went dress shopping, my mother bought several wedding magazines and passed them on to me. I found an amazing dress in Southern Weddings: The Libertine by Ian Stuart. I called my mom as soon as I saw it and told her I had found my dress. She asked me to describe it and said, “When I saw that dress, I knew it was the one for you.” I called several stores trying to locate a sample in blue and we went to see it a few days later. Since I had chosen such a distinctive dress, I decided to keep it a secret from everyone except my parents until the big day. On the morning of our wedding, I had the photographer and videographer capture my bridesmaids’ reactions to my dress.

How cool is that! I love the idea of an Adventure Book for your marriage, what a sweet way to join bucket lists, and create a life of complete adventure (excuse the pun!).

Our favorite detail of the wedding was: Our favorite detail was the arbor for the ceremony, a gift from my father, Randy Keith Pridgen, built using woodworking skills lovingly passed down to him from his father, the late Ernest Dixon Pridgen. My father and five of his brothers still work together in the commercial millwork company my grandfather started in 1948. Daddy’s brothers all helped him to perfect the arbor design in the weeks before the wedding. The metal hearts used to decorate the arbor and the reception were salvaged from a bus shelter built by the late James Ernest Watts, so that his little girl, my mother, would never have to wait out in the rain. He passed away when I was two and although my memories with him are limited, my mother has kept the love he had for us alive with her stories. I felt like he was present and gave us his blessing when the black cab that picked us up to depart the ceremony was named James. James also was the name of the man who took our engagement photograph in Forsyth Park. Photography is a passion that Nick’s father, Bobby Joe Dyer, has shared with him. The arbor was decorated with pictures to commemorate family memories and to honor those who could not be with us to celebrate our marriage. We incorporated our parents’ wedding photos onto the arbor as well as pictures from our childhood. The sign on the arbor read, “Memory is the treasury and guardian of all things.”

Did you decide to do a “first look”? Why or why not? We decided to stick with tradition and not do a first look. I am glad we made that decision because my favorite part of our wedding video is seeing my 6’8” husband stand on his tiptoes trying to see me above the crowd before I walked down the aisle.

After Nick and I became serious, I held back on monogramming items in anticipation that my monogram would soon change. Our wedding was the perfect opportunity to showcase our new monogram. Instead of having Flower Girls, Nick’s niece, Makayla, and my cousin, Callie, were our Monogram Attendants. They walked down the aisle carrying gray wooden monograms. Callie carried my maiden name monogram and sat on the bride’s side. Makayla carried Nick’s monogram and sat on the groom’s side. After the ceremony was over and we were pronounced husband and wife, the monogram attendants presented a monogrammed banner with our new couple’s monogram before we walked back down the aisle. For a Southern girl, getting married does not just entail changing your name, it means a new monogram! Our guests traveled a long way to share in our big day, so we did not want anyone to leave empty-handed. Our wedding favors were Cokes in glass bottles decorated with little silver bells and bags of roasted North Carolina peanuts. They were placed on a table with a sign that read, “Some things just go together.”

Describe your wedding flowers. Our wedding flowers were soft and romantic. Beth LeonGuerrero of Wild Flowers designed a hand-tied bouquet of spring florals including pink peonies, garden roses, lisianthus, blushing bride protea, astilbe, caliycina, phlox and blue centered anemones with nestlings of dusty miller, scabiosa pods and ostrich drab feathers, wrapped in grey. My bouquet was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. I decided to have it preserved after the wedding.

The wedding cake was a classic white three-tiered cake embellished with buttercream flowers and white buttercream peacock designed by Jim Smeal. The white peacock design was inspired by the birds of Magnolia Plantation.

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story. Nick and I met on February 4, 2011, at a Fayetteville Young Professionals meet-up at Riverside Steakhouse and Oyster Bar. We both had noticed one another from across the room and luckily, a mutual friend introduced us! A few days later, we went on our first date, and we have been inseparable ever since. You always wonder how you will know when you have met the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, but it is like everyone says, “You just know”.
Tell us all about the proposal! Nick proposed to me in front of the fountain in Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia on May 17, 2012. It was my birthday and we were on vacation in our favorite city. While we were standing in front of the fountain, Nick hugged me and said, “Do you remember the night we met? My heart skipped a beat when you walked into the room. I think now that this was God’s way of telling me you are the woman I am supposed to spend my life with.” Then, he got down on one knee and asked, “Will you marry me?” Around this time, a bystander started yelling, “Look, they are getting engaged!” and came over and asked if he could take our picture.
When did y’all get married? April 7, 2013
How many friends, family members, and loved ones attended your wedding? About 160
Did you write your own vows? If so, what was your favorite phrase, verse or line? We spoke traditional vows. However, since our ceremony was outside, we decided to do a handfasting ceremony instead of lighting a unity candle. My favorite line from this ceremony was, “These are the hands that even when wrinkled with age will still be reaching for yours, still giving the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.” It was a reminder of the permanence and comfort marriage brings to a person.
What readings, if any, did you have at your ceremony? “There is no moment of my life when you are not a part of me; you hold my heart; you guard my soul; you guide my dreams so tenderly and if my will might be done, and all I long for could come true, with perfect joy I would choose to share eternity with you”. –Robert Sexton
Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them. Instead of walking down the aisle after the chiming of the hour, my cousin, Katelynn, walked down the aisle ringing a bell and announced,“Let the wedding begin!” The Palmetto Strings Trio played during our wedding ceremony and at the reception. Nick is an avid Beatles fan, so our bridal party walked in to “In My Life.” We both enjoy indie music and are fans of Vampire Weekend, so we had our string trio compose an arrangement of “M79” for our recessional.
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? The most Southern things about our wedding, aside from being on a beautiful plantation in Charleston, were monograms and hospitality.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? The biggest challenge I faced was coordinating everything to match my wedding gown. The Libertine looks blue in photographs and gray in person. With the help of Francesca from Pure Luxe Bridal Consultants and Beth, I was able to pick suits, bridesmaid dresses and flowers that looked nice with both colors. Nick had no idea that I had chosen a non-traditional fabric, so he had a difficult time understanding why I would not agree that he should wear a seersucker suit.
What is the one detail or vendor that you were so happy to have as a part of your wedding? We were blessed to have a dream team of vendors! They had amazing professional talents and all worked together to create a day that exceeded our highest expectations. I would highly recommend all of them! One detail we both loved was the cornhole boards decorated with our silhouettes in the wedding colors, which my mother gave us as a pre-wedding gift. We were able to purchase the silhouette designs and use them throughout our wedding and reception.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Our favorite moment was seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day! I tried to soak in every moment as my Daddy walked me down the aisle to Nick. A close second was the emotion that our ceremony evoked from our family. I could tell that the details and our desire to remember our grandparents really touched everyone.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding? Before you plan anything, think about your priorities for the wedding. You want to contract with the best vendors, but you also need to decide on the emotion you want people to feel when they are at your wedding. Our must-haves were a fabulous wedding dress, classic bowties, and our awesome photographer, Pasha Belman. Those things aside, we wanted our families to feel as if they were being celebrated for loving us and shaping us into the people we are today. The biggest compliment we received on our wedding was that it was very sweet and sentimental. Seeing and hearing about how our wedding details touched our families was an amazing feeling.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you most looking forward to about married life? We are looking forward to starting new family traditions and building a happy home together. We hope to travel and adopt pets. Most of all, we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives making new memories with our best friend!

Bright coral pink is one of those colors that exudes cheerfulness, and when I read Nichole and Ricky’s equally charming interview, I knew they made the perfect color scheme choice for their wedding! After enduring a long-distance relationship and getting engaged in the town where they met, this sweet couple spent a year and a half planning their gorgeous Historic Cedarwood wedding. All of their hard work resulted in a wedding that struck the perfect balance between heartfelt, emotional moments and fun, playful details. Does it get much better than that?

Big thanks to Kristyn Hogan for sharing Nichole and Ricky’s beautiful day with us!

I had spent about a month going to several wedding boutiques pre-shopping in Houston before my mom came into town for Thanksgiving. I wanted to make sure that I had a few dresses picked out to help make the shopping really easy. However, I couldn’t seem to find one that made me feel like it was the one and I was really stressing out, not to mention that all of my girls lived in other states, so I was really going at this alone. Finally, my parents came to town for the holiday and my mom and I set out looking for the dress. I tried on several at the first boutique and even though my mom already had tears flowing since we were finally getting to have our mother-daughter experience, I still wasn’t finding the one that felt right for me. When we went to the next boutique, we had fun picking out dresses that I wouldn’t normally choose for myself. Then I came across this one that I just fell in love with. I put it on and knew it was the dress. We were both crying and just so excited that this was it. We bought the dress, canceled the rest of the appointments, and then went out to celebrate since we still had the rest of the day with each other.

Did you decide to do a “first look”?
I actually talked to my photographer and she said it was great for pictures, so I was more than excited to include this in our day. A month before my wedding, one of my best friends got married and did a first look. All of the girls begged to sneak a peek but not be seen. Wow–we were all in tears over the amount of emotion that they both had, and I couldn’t wait to have the same experience with my soon-to-be husband. Needless to say, we did!

What a sweet moment! I love the emotion in this picture, including all of the smiling guests in the background!

Did you write your own vows?
We really wanted to, but we were so nervous that we would be too overcome with emotion and unable to make it through them. We were fortunate to have a wonderful officiant, who helped us plan our ceremony and gave us the opportunity to make it ours. The part that stood out to me the most was the preface to the vows. “I want remind us all of what a vow is. A vow is a solemn promise, a pledge that binds. A commitment of heart, mind, soul and body. It is tenacious, persistent and even stubborn in the face of challenges. These are your vows. It is one of life’s greatest gifts, to give and receive such a commitment. Understanding these things about your vows causes us to understand that these are not mere words and so we listen in great awe and reverence as you make these promises to each other.”

When I was initially conceptualizing the wedding, I fell in love with the idea of an outdoor ceremony, but wanted to make sure that we had rustic Southern charm as well. Since I am from Tennessee, we wanted to have the wedding in Nashville to give our guests the opportunity to experience this amazing city we fell in love with. Cedarwood was perfect with its natural meadow, outdoor garden, front lawn with a swing and chandelier, historic home, and beautiful landscape, so I had many different areas to utilize. We had our wedding ceremony in the meadow with the altar covered with beautiful flowers and the rustic barn in the background. The cocktail hour was held in the front of the house on the lawn. It reminded me of something out of Gone With the Wind. Our reception was held on the wrap-around terrace, which was open and surrounded by the beautiful landscape and decor.

What is the one detail or vendor that you were so happy to have as a part of your wedding?
I would have to say Cedarwood Weddings. They walked me through everything. I really had no idea what I was doing and I relied on Cedarwood to point me in the right direction. The staff was fantastic. We were lucky enough to have started planning far enough in advance that we were able to book all the vendors that Cedarwood considered the best of the best. It all showed the day of the wedding, with every vendor and staff member. Everything went so smoothly and felt perfect. We were able to enjoy every moment.

Describe your wedding cake or dessert.
I completely loved our cake. I was the bride that was seated and eating a full plate while everyone was dancing. It was a round, three-tiered smooth-edged design with peach-melon colored icing, small lace detailing, and one big coral charm peony on top of a mint cake stand. All tiers were strawberry marble cake with white chocolate cream cheese filling and icing. I am so happy that we had some left over so I can have it over and over again. We also had a cookie bar setup. These cookies are the ones the aunts brought. They were displayed on various platters and cake stands and were a huge hit!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story.
I am originally from Tennessee and moved north for school and my career. While working at Tweenbrands in Columbus, Ohio, I met a really great group of girlfriends that had all gone to Ohio University together. We all hung out and eventually started going to their boyfriends’ softball games, which is when I started to hang out with Ricky. We would all go out after the games and hang out, eating pizza and fries on Thursday nights, and we continued meeting up through the weekend. I could really tell that Ricky and I had a lot in common. We were both going through art school and it was so easy to talk and relate to him. We became a couple just a few months before he was offered an amazing job in Houston, TX. We both felt it was the right thing for him to do and we continued to make the relationship work. After a very long two years of long-distance calls and flights back and forth, we both felt like we needed to be together. I left my job and moved to Houston for us and two years later, we were finally engaged.
Tell us all about the proposal!
It was so cute! We traveled back to Ohio and I had already been sick for a week but I was being a trooper. We ran around all day getting ready for a Halloween party that night and stopping at all our favorite places in Columbus, where we met. Then, in the parking lot behind our favorite coffee house, he started to complain about his leg hurting. I offered him some Aleve, but he said he would be fine. We got into the car when Ricky started freaking out about his leg really hurting. He told me to stop and let him get out to stretch. I rolled down the window to see how he was doing and he told me he needed me to get out and help him (by the way, he was kneeling in a puddle). I got out, really confused since he never complains about pulled muscles, and there he was, on one knee (still in the puddle), asking me if I would marry him. Then, he opened the box and the ring fell out and rolled under the car. He politely asked me to “hold on a sec” while he fetched it and I was tearing up. It was the cutest thing and I was so happy that I forgot to say yes till we got back in the car! Eventually, he did get his answer.
When did y’all get married?

Tell us about some of the songs you used throughout your wedding and why you chose them.
I really wanted to use some “not so typical” music during our ceremony. Working with our guitar/violin duo, we were able to add some Beatles songs that keep the feeling more current. We incorporated “In My Life” for the seating of the guests and “All You Need is Love” for the recessional to kick off the celebration! Ricky had this great idea that at the end of the reception, we have the DJ play “Time of My Life” from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack as if it was the last song. Then, we surprised our guests with “One More Time” by Daft Punk for one last chance to dance. It was so much fun!!
Describe your wedding flowers.
Cedarwood did an amazing job with the flowers. I provided a picture I had seen online of an arrangement with many different types of natural textures and colors that I wanted to replicate. I wanted to make sure that we were making an effort to not be matchy-matchy and focus on various shades of our colors: light pinks, melon, and ivory. They did a custom-designed bouquet using cabbage roses, coral charm peonies, light peach/pink stock, light pink spray roses, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and ranunculus. It was hand-tied with burlap and a band of material used for my dress sash around the middle. We switched the color variations for the bridesmaids so the bouquets would pop against their papaya J.Crew dresses, and tied each with a ribbon to match my sash as well. They were beautiful! The groom’s boutonniere was a light peach spray rose and seeded eucalyptus to match my bouquet, tied with twine. The groomsmen boutonnieres were similar, but in a lighter shade.
Our favorite detail of the wedding was:
I have a few that really stood out for me. First, I made all the paper goods, from the save the dates, to the large logo sign used for the favor wall and photo booth, to the guest book. I really enjoyed taking the time to make sure every little detail was consistent with our Nashville wedding, with the large bright flowers and the NP + RK theme. Ricky was always there helping me get all the tiny crafts completed, bless his heart. Second, I decided to do white Wayfarer Sunglasses with our “NP + RK” logo as our favors. I thought it would make great photos and it was totally appropriate with the outside wedding venue. Third, there is a family tradition on my husband’s side that the women of the family make these amazing little cookies for weddings. They are insanely good. RK’s aunts made the drive all the way down from Pittsburgh with the cookies in tow for our wedding. It really meant a lot that his family would take so much time to make all of them. There were so many different kinds of cookies and the table never seemed to be bare since the staff had enough to keep it stocked all night. I purchased kraft favor bags so our guests could take some of their favorite ones home with them. Somehow I still ended up taking plenty to snack on back home. Fourth, my dad had this amazing idea to incorporate a Chinese wishing lantern into the wedding, which I thought would be a unique thing to do as a sign of our unity. It was really beautiful to release the lantern into the air with all of our family and friends watching as it soared into the night sky.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? The biggest challenge I faced was being so far away from everything, including my family, friends, and the venue. I did a lot on my own and had to utilize technology as much as possible with FaceTime and sending photos. I had a lot of support from my parents during the planning process. They really were amazing. We also had our initial design meeting at Cedarwood to cover every detail of the wedding. It was outstanding and really helped me decide what direction to go with my wedding.
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day?
My most memorable moment would have to be at the ceremony, standing there with Ricky, announcing to everyone that we were forever joined as husband and wife. I remember, even through my nerves, taking a moment to look at everyone that had traveled so far to be there for us, and knowing that others so wanted to be there and couldn’t make it. It really touched our hearts.
What advice do you have for folks currently planning a wedding?
Try not to rush it. I had about a year and a half engagement. I really feel like it’s worth taking the time if you can. I would also suggest, if your venue doesn’t offer it, to get a wedding planner, even if it’s just for the day of your wedding. It was great to not have to worry about anything the day of and to enjoy all the hard work I put into creating the special day with everyone we love.
What’s next for you as a couple? What are you most looking forward to about married life?
We are looking to save money and start looking for a house. We are ready to settle down and begin the rest of our lives together.
