Grab a tissue, friends–it has been a little while since we had a wedding film on the blog, but I promise it has been worth the wait! I couldn’t get through Meredith and Tate’s highlights film (beautifully captured and created by our Blue Ribbon Vendor, PenWeddings) without some serious tears, thanks to their loving families and friends, their emotional ceremony, and the joy that was evident at every moment. I also love the way PenWeddings was on hand to capture moments from the rehearsal dinner, too–I remember the entirety of my wedding weekend just as fondly as I remember the day itself, so it was especially touching to witness how magical each part of this gorgeous Charleston weekend was for Meredith and Tate!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story! We met on a blind date! Our vet (who is now one of our good friends) set us up. Tate had just gotten a boxer puppy and was at an appointment for the puppy shots when she just flat out asked him if he was single. He said yes and then she gave him my number. I guess you could call it puppy love! :)
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? Since we got married in the deep South, Charleston, South Carolina, I guess that is the biggest detail! We did a carriage ride for our bridesmaid luncheon, and getting married in the very first church established in the South was pretty cool!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? I remember so much from the wedding and I am so glad I took advice from friends to step away every 30 minutes or so to take it all in. But, I think the most memorable part was walking down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” sung by my dad’s very best friend, and seeing my handsome groom waiting for me. I just stared at him the whole way down the aisle!

Wedding videography played a much bigger role in MaryClare and Chris’ story than just this beautiful film of their special day–in fact, it’s what brought them together in the first place! Cinematographers themselves, they met at a film conference in New Orleans and began working together–as MaryClare so beautifully put it, they “fell in love while telling others’ love stories.” Well, on a gorgeous fall day in Rosemary Beach, Florida, it was their turn to be in front of the camera and experience the moments they had captured for so many others: saying their vows, twirling around during their first dance, and celebrating with their loved ones. Their joy of finally coming to this day is so evident, and I’m sure MaryClare and Chris are thrilled with the way our Blue Ribbon Vendor PenWeddings captured it all!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story! We are both wedding cinematographers, and we met at a film conference in New Orleans. We started working together, and our shared passions for all things film, traveling, food, and wine blossomed into a romance. We fell in love while telling others’ love stories!

What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? The most Southern aspect of our wedding was the sense of family I think everyone could feel throughout the weekend. I also surprised Chris with a groom’s cake made up of all of his favorite things. He cried when he saw it because it brought back some sweet memories from the start of our relationship! My best girls also participated in the Southern tradition of a cake pull, pulling all New Orleans-themed charm bracelets my mom made herself. Finally, we brought New Orleans with us to our Florida wedding, ending the night with a second line!

What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? Chris and I have trouble picking one moment because it truly was our favorite weekend ever! For me, waiting to walk down the aisle with my dad while looking at Chris and everyone on the beautiful beach below was unforgettable. For both of us, saying our vows to one another and our first dance were two of the BEST moments!
