From adorable spaces to insightful interviews, it’s been such a joy to get a peek into the hearts and homes of some of our favorite couples this year! We were inspired by each and every one of the 16 newlywed nests we featured this year, and thought we’d take a walk down memory lane before kicking off 2015 with a whole new group of married friends!

Do y’all remember this photo? After a particularly cold winter, the dogwoods that inspired our A New Beginning editorial began to bloom early. While we usually have no complaints about early spring flowers, it caused a bit of a panic for Emily and I as we rescheduled our first V7 shoot of the year four times. Bless our sweet vendor friends’ hearts! Thankfully, it worked out in our favor, and we ended up with the most beautiful spring day…and, the biggest dogwood tree we’ve ever seen, blooms still fully intact. Hooray! We started the day at Emily’s house, styling the invitation suite, prepping details, and doing our best to keep her kitty away from our cake.

Last winter seemed to go on forever, which is one of the reasons we planned this shoot in the first place. We were inspired by the joy and peacefulness of spring finally arriving, and how similar that is to an engagement. Just as the spring brings about an enchanting sense of new life and the promise of new beginnings, a wedding is when a new life together is created, and a bride and groom have a chance to start a whole new chapter of their story. In the shade of a historic home, under the dogwoods that are so beloved in North Carolina, we created this shoot to celebrate bringing together history and heritage in a fresh new way. We were overjoyed to have our dear friends, Landon and Jordan of Landon Jacob Photography, capture every sweet detail for us!

We loved working with Kelly Perry of Philosophy Flowers for the first time, and were all head over heels for the way she incorporated our signature bloom into the bouquets and arrangements!

Love these pastel bridesmaid dresses as much as we do? Good news: they’re from Little Borrowed Dress, an amazing bridesmaid dress rental company! Your favorite gals will love having the option to either rent or buy their dresses for your big day.

These sweet little flower girls stole the show! They looked precious in their mix and match BHLDN dresses and The Scalloped Window crowns, and had so much fun with their extra long Hazel Faire ribbon wands, reminiscent of traditional maypoles.

We incorporated verses from Song of Solomon into our paper goods and fabric banners–a Bible verse or prayer that is special to you as a couple is such a meaningful detail you can bring into your wedding day.

Our bride and groom could not have been sweeter! This real couple drove to North Carolina from their home in Alabama to model in this shoot, and they were married in real life just a month later. We all joked that we were relieved Ashley was not wearing this Monique Lhuillier gown for her actual wedding, and we didn’t spoil the surprise for Ryan!

Our friends at Life Stage Films tagged along with us to capture this day on video! Lovely, isn’t it? I can’t stress enough how relieved we were to have such gorgeous weather.

Now for one of our favorite parts of sharing our editorials with y’all online: a giveaway! Sibo Designs generously sent us the bride’s veil all the way from The Netherlands, and we’re thrilled to give it away to one of our lucky readers. The veil is impossibly light and dreamy, and it would look so gorgeous with a huge variety of gowns! You can read more about it here, and then enter in a variety of ways below. Good luck!

I love the look of the bridemaids, and am doing the little borrowed dress for them. My question is which color blue is this? I have samples of the mint, and then the powder and sea glass. I know the green is the mint but not sure on the blue. The sea glass sample I have is more tiffany colored than whats shown here so I want to double check :)

  32. avatar Amanda reply

What color green and blue is used in this shoot? I’m using the same company for my BM’s and wanna make sure I order the right colors.
