V3 Color Story Giveaway!

by in Contests on

Well, if we haven’t just been a giveaway machine lately! We’re keeping the goodness coming, happily, and today I present to you a smorgasbord of V3 color story items that will make their way home to one lucky reader. Here’s a sampling of what said reader will receive:

Asya, the woman behind Gleena Ceramics, makes the most beautiful, delicate pieces. We used her Roly Poly Bowls in our Fearrington color story.

It’s impossible not to fall in love with Emersonmade. We featured their “Something Blue” ring pillow and their Souvenir Boutonnieres in our Fearrington story, and Melissa Schollaert featured their flower necklace, shoe clips, and boutonnieres in her cover shoot.

These two lovely necklaces were both collected for the Fearrington color story. The one on the left is the London blue topaz pendant from Amelia Rose. Gorgeous! I’ve always loved Amelia’s designs, and this is one of my very favorite pieces. The necklace on the right is the Teal Wave design from Fuss Jewelry. Both of these looked so perfect paired with the J. Crew dresses we chose!

Ready to enter? Just leave a comment telling us your favorite feature in V3! It could be a real wedding, a photoshoot, or just a single product. We’ll announce a winner next week — good luck!

My favorite feature is the Daniel Usenko inspiration shoot from Nov 3, 2010. It reminds me of a scene from Alice in Wonderland, so intimate and earthy. The small details like the blackberry vine ripening next to the cake, are the loveliest.

My favorite feather was the real wedding spread called “The Little Wedding that Could.” Loved the unique color pallet, the organic setting, all the DIY projects, and especially the bride herself. The bride is going to be my photographer at my wedding on June 4, 2011. Ali is wonderful and definitely deserved the 4 page spread!

loved the alice in wonderland inspired shoot!

I loved the “sweet love” shoot! Especially the addition of those cute big dogs and even a horse. And the amazing flowers! The photos are just STUNNING!

You couldn’t have asked a harder question. The whole issue was fabulous! All of your little comments just added to the fact that I already feel like you girls are my sisters, but I think the photo of the Bible page with the rings struck me the most. My grandfather was a preacher in Texas, with a congregation of about 15 people, and his Bible looked like that. It is the one thing of his that I HAD to have after he passed away. That photo was sweet perfection!

Loved the little wedding that could- it gives inspiration to all those brides not having huge events.

I love how well designed everything is. I don’t come by style naturally and it is wonderful to get such great inspiration from your pages.

Gosh this is so hard!!! Everything is so awesome. I love the all the flowers, the cute little sayings on the dessert bars, and the hair accessories!!! Wait I just love southern weddings PERIOD!!! Our theme is actually southern comfort!!! But I would have to say that my favorite thing in V3 is the handkerchief that Lauren gave to her Dad before the wedding. It had such a beautiful poem on it for him to keep forever!!!! So sweet!!!!!

OMG…. This is so hard! I mean I love the whole issue! I love all the flowers, the cotton pictures, the cute little words on the dessert bars, and all the hair accessories. Wait…. I love southern!!!! Our wedding theme is southern comfort!!!! But my favorite part of V3 is the picture of the handkerchief that Lauren gave to her Dad on the wedding day. The little note on it was so beautiful. It’s something that he can cherish forever. I love it!!! I always go back to that page and just look at it.

I loved the “Fab Finds” section, especially the baking twine and adorable clutches!

Love the Rockabilly wedding – it’s fun to see things in Austin done differently. Mercury Hall + Salt Lick are pretty common vendors, but those shots were beautiful, and different than the norm! What fun shoots! I’m loving those roly poly bowls AND the teal wave necklace. GORGEOUS!

What’s not to love, really?? I love Alice in Wonderland and I hope to have some of the same whimsy present in on my own wedding day. All of the photos are so beautifully laid out in your magazine, they are eye-catching!

I agree with everyone so far, this is really hard as there are sooo many things that I loved in V3!

But if I had to choose I loved the last page “ever after”. It reminds me of my grandparents and their love for each other. May all the “Jerry and Ruth ‘s” out there have a very blessed marriage and all the best!

  16. avatar Jenn reply

i LOVE looking at all the real weddings because it gives me great ideas on my upcoming wedding in May. but may favorite real wedding to look at has been Katie and Crisp. my absolute favorite show is ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and i remember seeing her on the Atlanta version. it was great to see her on that and then be able to see how the wedding panned out on here. beautifully i must say! so perfectly southern. everything tied together so well, from the similar bows on her gown to her bridesmaids dresses, the feathers in all the bouquets with the hunting theme and all the hunting dog things. elements of the wedding were just so simple but so elegant!

  17. avatar Em Scott reply

The necklace and the bowls are simple beautiful and perfect. My favorite V3 feature has got to be Amelia Lyon’s shoot. Those dogs! The colors! Her hair!! Ohgosh.

I was born and raised in Missouri, but I would visit my aunt every summer in good ole Savannah Georgia. I never wanted to leave because I knew I was supposed to live in the south. (I know, I am a wannabe!) The first time I saw this magazine, I fell in love! It is hard to pick my favorite feature, but I would have to say I love all of the fabulous finds from different websites and etsy. I also love seeing all of the real weddings. There are so many great ideas for my own wedding! Thank you SWMag! You are my inspiration!

  19. avatar Katie reply

I absolutely love your “Real Weddings” feature. Us normal folks aren’t going to be the next William and Kate, so I really like being able to relate to other brides out there. There are always pictures and ideas that can be translated into real life. Katie and Crisp were so cute, both traditional and fun at the same time.

  20. avatar Genevieve reply

I love the real wedding feature that you can select for color themes, I love getting ideas from how other people have used my colors. In particular i love the wedding Liz & Klas, such beautiful flowers, such a beautiful dress!!!!!

  21. avatar Megan B reply

The entire issue is amazing!! However, personally, I can really appreciate the shoot at Fearrington Village. It hit home with me because not only am I using the cotton cady fresh mint bridesmaid dresses from JCrew, I considered having my wedding there! Cost being a major factor, we’re taking those vintage, garden-esque elements into an indoor venue that will better suit my budget (and fear of rain in April!) The photo of the monochrome macaroons really gave me excitement about using all shades of aqua/teal/tourquoise/mint. Those colors are stunning and paired with vintage lace, tea cups and saucers, and gorgeous flowers to incorporate into the wedding, it will really capture the essence of Spring. My mom actually came up with a cute idea from that photo to serve the macaroons in little nests to look like robin’s eggs for the bridal luncheon :) Needless to say, this shoot was gorgeous, but I just love every hand picked detail that added so much charm!

I love “The little wedding that could”! Its nice to see articles about budget brides that can’t or just don’t want a big wedding. I’m one those brides that don’t want something big. Just a nice, intimate wedding with those that love you the most. And seeing an article that shows how GORGEOUS those wedding looks is a true inspiration.

    Thanks for a great giveaway!

I’m from the great state of Alabama and my brother-in-law is friends with Miss Alabama’s Audrey Moore… So I would have to say flipping through the new V3 and seeing her beautiful face was a great surprise. I love that ever since the 1st edition of Southern Wedding, I always find a vendor I have heard of or know someone who used them. It makes it feel so personal and a truly southern magazine.

  24. avatar Elizabeth reply

I love the “Real Weddings” segment. it’s great to see how people incorporate their personalities into their weddings. Keep ’em coming!

  25. avatar Brandon reply

I have to say my favorite feature in V3 was the Groom’s Gallery! I love that I was able to show my honey what other grooms are doing and wearing for weddings! And I even caught him looking at the spread again later :) I think it’s often assumed grooms will wear a plain black tux, but what a fantastic idea to show that they are able to have a little creativity and individuality on their wedding day too! Great idea!!

  26. avatar Taylor reply

I loved that y’all featured Ruth & Jerry’s preccioouuss Real Wedding. The photographer also photographed one of my friend’s weddings and when I came across those pictures I couldn’t help but tear up a little. It shows that love knows no boundaries!

  27. avatar Jessica reply

My most favorite feature in V3 is definitely the “Real Weddings” portion just as it was for V2! I enjoy not only looking at every element captured but reading every detail of the weddings and pulling ideas and just pure happiness through inspiration. I feel like a gal in a candy shop when reading the SWmag. It it like a slice of blissful goodness. And, yes, I know that is cheesy, but it is also true!! :)

  28. avatar Rachael H reply

I love the real weddings — It gives me amazing ideas for my own wedding. And I need all the creative help I can get :)

  29. avatar Carly (@realgloss) reply

Mimi + Harry’s Real Wedding! I was in love with every detail – especially the embroidered pillow – simply gorgeous!

  30. avatar Janice Carnevale reply

My favorite thing in V3 is the bride drinking from the green hose. That photo is amazing.

  31. avatar Jen reply

I love the blue vase w/ the coral on the tables…gorgeous idea for a beach wedding like mine. Also I’m lusting after that London Blue Topaz Pendant what a great “something blue” :)

  32. avatar Sherry reply

LOVe the Real Weddings section. I love to see all these beautiful weddings and how the photographers captured them.

  33. avatar Kallie B reply

It was hard to decide between this Fearrington color story shot by Jose Villa or Lindsey and Tyson’s wedding shot by Kate Headley. I think I have to go with Kate’s images of A Trendy Wedding’s designs. Absolutely stunning! The white peaches – amazing!

  34. avatar Jaime reply

Jose Villa’s Southern Honeymoon shoot is beautiful! I love the hot air balloon’s colours!

  35. avatar Melissa W reply

I just love the Melissa Schollaert cover shoot! The blue and peach tones were just perfect for a seaside, southern wedding. She tied the coral from the menus and food/drink labels into the table setting, making a cohesive theme. I love the rustic feel of the white bench seating and the wood grain table. And can you get any more southern than peach tea-flavored vodka??? Uhhm, no! And that Christos Maribel gown is TO.DIE.FOR.

  36. avatar Jacqueline L. reply

I love EVERYTHING about the “Sweet Love” shoot. It’s fresh, fun, the bride is STUNNING – the colors just POP. So well done….

  37. avatar Sarah reply

i loved the Alice in Wonderland shoot. It was so whimsical and dreamy. Absolutely great!

The Southern Meets Socal spread was my favorite! The photo of Charlotte in her Temperly London dress are what dreams are made of! The light, the whimsy, and the simple, wild elegance that are captured in that shot is amazing.

The wedding and the way it was editorialized were just stunning. In my opinion, Southern meets Socal is what SW Mag is all about: blending traditional with modern, casual with elegant, simple with intricate. It is a fine balancing act and one that I will try to achieve at my own wedding. Kudos to the couple for making some bold choices and to the team at SW for including this wedding in the issue.

  39. avatar Kelly reply

The cover shoot pictures were definitely my favorite. The classic colors were beautiful and just my style! Love the magazine, and thanks for the contest!

I am an inspiring photographer and I loved the shoot in the V3 issue with the hot air balloon. I am itchin’ to take someone engagement pictures at a hot air balloon festival now. I also loved the cute couple painting the room and doing the whole “moving into a 1st home” thing. Such a great shoot to go along with the story. The girl’s pixie hairdo made me want to run out and get my hair whacked off. :-)
