Grab a tissue, friends–it has been a little while since we had a wedding film on the blog, but I promise it has been worth the wait! I couldn’t get through Meredith and Tate’s highlights film (beautifully captured and created by our Blue Ribbon Vendor, PenWeddings) without some serious tears, thanks to their loving families and friends, their emotional ceremony, and the joy that was evident at every moment. I also love the way PenWeddings was on hand to capture moments from the rehearsal dinner, too–I remember the entirety of my wedding weekend just as fondly as I remember the day itself, so it was especially touching to witness how magical each part of this gorgeous Charleston weekend was for Meredith and Tate!

How did y’all meet? Tell us your love story! We met on a blind date! Our vet (who is now one of our good friends) set us up. Tate had just gotten a boxer puppy and was at an appointment for the puppy shots when she just flat out asked him if he was single. He said yes and then she gave him my number. I guess you could call it puppy love! :)
What Southern details or traditions did you include in your celebration? What was Southern about your wedding? Since we got married in the deep South, Charleston, South Carolina, I guess that is the biggest detail! We did a carriage ride for our bridesmaid luncheon, and getting married in the very first church established in the South was pretty cool!
What was your most memorable moment about your wedding day? I remember so much from the wedding and I am so glad I took advice from friends to step away every 30 minutes or so to take it all in. But, I think the most memorable part was walking down the aisle to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” sung by my dad’s very best friend, and seeing my handsome groom waiting for me. I just stared at him the whole way down the aisle!

Everyone has their own favorite part of a wedding–maybe the bride’s walk down the aisle, the exchange of vows, the first dance, or the sparkler exit. Personally, I don’t have a favorite (I love them all!!), but when it comes to wedding films, my favorite thing about them is when they make me feel like I’m there, witnessing all those moments right alongside a couple’s beloved guests. That’s why I loved Michelle and Ryan’s highlights film by Nowsay Films so very much–y’all please join me virtually at Boone Hall Plantation to enjoy this darling couple’s special day!

From the bride:

We were married on a Southern plantation in Charleston, South Carolina, and included cotton boutonnieres, dried palmettos roses, Southern cocktails and beers from local breweries, pimento cheese sliders, and shrimp and grits. Our most memorable moments were when the sun magically came out in time for our outdoor ceremony, and walking back up the aisle after being announced husband and wife and seeing that we were surrounded by all of the people we love.

What a beautiful couple! That dress is just gorgeous. Everything from the plantation wedding venue to the barn reception makes this a perfect southern wedding.

Y’all know it takes all my willpower to keep from ugly crying during some wedding videos, but when it comes to Callie and Jamie’s by Heart Stone Films, I don’t even bother trying. Everything about this day was so meaningful and beautiful, but nothing compares to hearing the touching words from Callie’s dad and their dear friend who officiated the ceremony, and seeing the pure joy on Callie and Jamie’s faces as they became husband and wife, surrounded by the people who love them most.

Thank you so much to our Blue Ribbon Vendor, Heart Stone Films, for capturing this special day so beautifully and sharing it with us!

See more from Callie and Jamie’s wedding here and in V7!

Heart Stone Films did a wonderful job! I love the shot of the bride looking outside of the window. Great wedding film!
