It’s time to spread the giveaway goodness! Today we are picking winners left and right. Three of you lucky ducks will be winning custom garters from Bleu Garters, another charming reader will get a beautiful feather headband from Lo Boheme, and a third will receive a goodie box of delights from our Fearrington color story. Let’s get this party started!

First up, Bleu Garters!

Drum roll please! The three winners for the Bleu Garters giveaway are Okeoma (whose favorite design in Bleu Garter’s collection was the lacey Gardenia III), Jenn (who loved the Victoria), and Kalea (who picked the Monaco for a little something blue)

Congratulations, ladies! You will each get your own custom-made garters from Bleu Garters. Ooh la la!

Now, which reader will get to channel the beauty and glamour of the Southern Meets SoCal feature?

Lo Boheme offered up the vintage-inspired feather headband featured in the shoot to one of you. Congratulations to Karlye! We asked readers to tell us their favorite part of the Southern Meets SoCal shoot and here’s Karlye’s answer:

Aside from the amazing photography as a whole, my favorite details about this photo shoot are the use of cotton and green tomatoes. I love how two things that are so southern and so simple were put together to create such elegant décor. Those details, along with the absolutely stunning dress and enchanting lighting, make for captivating photos that are soft and romantic.

Couldn’t have said it better myself! Enjoy your Lo Boheme feather headband!

Now on to the Fearrington goodie box, which will include lovely pieces from Gleena Ceramics, Amelia Rose, Fuss Jewelry, and Emersonmade.

Megan B is our lucky winner! She said:

“The entire issue is amazing!! However, personally, I can really appreciate the shoot at Fearrington Village. It hit home with me because not only am I using the cotton cady fresh mint bridesmaid dresses from JCrew, I considered having my wedding there! Cost being a major factor, we’re taking those vintage, garden-esque elements into an indoor venue that will better suit my budget (and fear of rain in April!) The photo of the monochrome macaroons really gave me excitement about using all shades of aqua/teal/tourquoise/mint. Those colors are stunning and paired with vintage lace, tea cups and saucers, and gorgeous flowers to incorporate into the wedding, it will really capture the essence of Spring. My mom actually came up with a cute idea from that photo to serve the macaroons in little nests to look like robin’s eggs for the bridal luncheon :) Needless to say, this shoot was gorgeous, but I just love every hand picked detail that added so much charm!”

Be sure to enter this week’s ridiculously awesome Chaviano Couture giveaway. You have ’til Monday!

Winners: don’t forget to email us to claim your fabulous prizes!

Giveaway :: Bleu Garters

by in Contests, Main on

Okay, I have to admit something. I’m a bit of a history nerd. I’m obsessed with finding out how traditions began. Some of our modern traditions are just plain strange when you step back and think about them, right? (Example? Putting real evergreen trees in your living room. And putting lights on them. Odd.) Lucky for me, weddings are chock-full of traditions with interesting stories behind each and every one.

Did you know that the tossing of the garter is the oldest surviving wedding tradition? According to legend, snatching the bride’s garter was considered good luck as far back as the 14th century. Garters in the 14th century weren’t that pretty, but today’s wedding garters are downright gorgeous!
Bleu Garters has some of the prettiest, most delicate wedding garters that we’ve seen. They come in a variety of colors and many are vintage inspired. In addition, there is an awesome Bleu Garters style blog as well.

To Enter: Do you guys like Bleu Garters as much as we do? You know the drill! Visit the Bleu Garters shop and pick your favorite garter. Tell us why you like it by commenting below and also mention what your dream garter design would be for your chance to win.

Win: Not one, not two, but THREE lucky readers will get custom-made garters from Bleu Garters for their traditional garter toss traditions!

This giveaway will end on December 20th at midnight. Dash away, dash away, dash away all!

I love the Venice in Dark Silver!!

    • avatar Emily E reply

I loooove the Anne and Lavender. There are so many to choose from but these are so delicate yet sexy and very vintage bridal.

  2. avatar Sara reply

It’s so hard to pick just one, but I think my favorite is definitely the Lily! I like it because it looks a bit more traditional than the others. My dream garter would have lots of embellishments on it, pearls, and lace, too!

  3. avatar Laura reply

I’d say the Monaco is the first one that stood out to me, simply because it is so different that what you usually see, but the dark silver Venice is absolutely beautiful. I’d love to have that one with an orange or purple ribbon, because I have to pay homage to our dear Clemson Tigers!

  4. avatar Kara reply

I adore the Lavender style. Its sexy and classy at the same time. Plus the ribbon tie is so beautiful. It is the perfect “something blue”!

  5. avatar Lori reply

It’s hard to pick just one… I love the Marilyn, though! My dream garter would be lacy, delicate, and adorned with pearls.

  6. avatar Lindsey P reply

  7. avatar Megan Gibson reply

I love the gold one, labeled NICE. That would be perfect with my matching gold shoes! That website is for sure going into my favorites.
    Thanks, @meganegibson20

  8. avatar Anna reply

  9. avatar Lauren reply

I love the “Jeu Blanc” style. We got engaged in Paris, so it would be perfect :O)

  10. avatar Anne Marie reply

I love the Sapphire. The ivory and black are so classic are so classic together. I am a sucker for anything with a big bow, and this is no exception! It is sexy and adorable at the same time!

  11. avatar Brandi reply

Wow! My favorite garter is the “Oh La La” in black. Who can resist that name? Plus it looks like something Dita Von Teese might wear, and if it’s going under my dress (on my wedding day) it’s got to be sexy. If I were to design my own garter, I’d stitch my fiance’s name across the top, which would give him the biggest thrill on our wedding night!

  12. avatar Anne Carter reply

I absolutely adore the Femme Fatale it is truly feminine and simple yet very intricate at the same time! Its uniqueness is outstanding! I would love to see y’all make a garter with women in the fire service in mind, something feminine with some type of maltese cross or star of life? Personalized things like these are difficult to find in our line of work and its such a huge part of our lives even outside the station! Thanks so much :)

  13. avatar Lauren G reply

Gardenia III is my favorite. Timeless and elegant!

My dream garter would be a replication of my mother’s wedding dress, ivory lace.

  14. avatar Jordan Hebert reply

The victoria garter in antique gold & purple is my absolute favorite. It is gorgeous! My dream garter design would be the look of the Victoria garter, but super comfy to wear all night long!

  15. avatar Jordan Hebert reply

The victoria garter in antique gold & purple is my absolute favorite. It is gorgeous! My dream garter design would match my dress and my wedding colors, elegant, lacy and lavender and gold for our LSU Tigers!

  16. avatar Meredith reply

I love the Toulouse! My wedding colors are grey and pink!!

  17. avatar Erin reply

My favorite garter at Bleu Garters is the December Garter of the Month: Venice in Dark Silver. I know it’s featured in the contest images but I saw it and gasped! Talk about a beautiful little piece of “lingerie”! I love how it looks delicate and ladylike, but drop-dead gorgeous and glamorous all at the same time. I’m trying to create a similar feel for my wedding–it all started when I found “the” dress–something I never thought I’d look good in but I put it on and I instantly felt like an absolute old Hollywood glamour star. It’s funny because I always imagined wearing sexy undergarments on my wedding day, but I’ve found that full-body Spanx are really the way to go. But I feel like this garter would accomplish the goal of how sexy I wanted my underwear to be, but in a more practical way!! Our colors are black , emerald, and silver, so the look of the Venice in Dark Silver but incorporating those colors? I’d be unstoppable!

  18. avatar madelynne miller reply

I love the geometric lines of Monaco. Garters are soft and feminine and I like the “edginess” of this garter. My boy and I are both architects-in-training (War Eagle!) so I would love the idea of surprising him with an art deco inspired garter on our wedding day!

If I could have the garter of my dreams, it would be silver and marigold with preppy, modern, clean lines to contrast the soft lace and bedazzling that would make it beautiful and girly!

  19. avatar Lo reply

The Victoria in antique gold/purple is beautiful! I have never seen garters done this way before – love it!

  20. avatar Tracy reply

I am head over heels for the Victoria in antique gold/purple for oh so many reasons. I love how it is unique, it has my wedding colors in it, it is both classically elegant and stylistically modern, and it would compliment my dress perfectly; it is divine. Thanks for sharing Bleu Garters with us!

  21. avatar Karlye reply

I adore Venice in Light Silver! With her sparkle and elegance, she would be the perfect accessory to show off in a boudoir photo shoot for my soon-to-be hubby. She is already gorgeous, but a few ivory pearls and a pink ribbon would make her perfect for me!

  22. avatar Lisa reply

I love the Venice in light silver! Dream garter design? probably something very similar with a velvet ribbon tie. *le sigh*

  23. avatar Janna reply

I love the Venice in Dark Silver! Gorgeous- too pretty to share with our guests, but perfect for my hubby to be eye’s only! :)

  24. avatar Kfloveinme reply

I love the Venice in Light Silver! It looks very vintage, classic & elegant. That is the feeling I want for my wedding. Thanks for a lovely giveaway!

  25. avatar Courtney H reply

Elizabeth in White is beyond beautiful! Using a few pearls and light blue (for luck) satin ribbon would make this the garter my dreams!

  26. avatar Amanda I reply

I love Ooh La La in ivory and Versailles in light blue!

  27. avatar Brandon reply

Whitney!!! Who knew garters could be so beautiful?!? I feel like I’ve been out of the loop for all this time! I thought all garters were plain, boring, and white. I am in love with the “Isabella in white/pink” for my May wedding. It is so beautiful and feminine! I think wearing beautiful undergarments can totally change your attitude on your wedding day – and this would make me feel STUNNING! Not to mention what a beautiful keepsake this would make. Thank you :)

  28. avatar AshleyHH reply

Hard decision, but I am really liking Je t’aime. C’est tres magnifique!!

  29. avatar Melly S. reply

Surprisingly enough, my favorite one is the Poppy! I have been looking for the perfect garter for a while now. My “dream” would be something that combines romance with whimsy. It has to be soft and delicate in appearance, but with a unique twist. I picture my wedding as a beautiful, natural garden combined with Alice in Wonderland. It will be gorgeous, but it won’t take itself too seriously. :)

  30. avatar Megan reply

The Venice garter is simply gorgeous!! I actually thought about scratching the whole bouquet/garter toss, but this beauty has made me change my mind! I would love to wear this! I might wear it on the honeymoon too!

  31. avatar Cat S. reply

I am loving Je t’aime. It depicts my style. I am a classic yet sexy modern bride at the same time. This garter is beautiful to be shown off, but it’s sexy and special that I would keep it for my Groom’s eyes only.

My dream garter design would be the Je t’aime in a color combination of my wedding color palette (fuschia, lavender, silver and lavender). I had no idea garters were more beautiful than the average blue garter seen everywhere!

  32. avatar Rena reply

It is truely so hard to choose a favorite with all the beautiful lace designs but I decided on the Orchid. I love the white lace with a hint of the something blue! And one of my wedding colors is the pool blue! Such unique designs and I love how you tie them on with the ribbon on the back. Although my dream garter would have to include the lace with a little orange and blue added in to share my and my fiances love of the FL Gators! GOOOO Gators!!

  33. avatar Charlotte reply

I like the Monaco in any of the colors it’s available in. I like it because of the clean simplicity it has with still being detailed without being too over the top. I also like the geometric feel of it. My dream garter would be one of my wedding colors (purple or fuschia) with a design echoing the ivy motif we’ve used throughout the wedding but still kept simple.

  34. avatar Christine reply

The POPPY is my favorite — It perfectly matches the lace on my weding dress and looks like it would be super comfy!

  35. avatar Ashley reply

The venice in light silver is a dream! It would be a sassy little secret under my vintage lace gown!

  36. avatar Jessica reply

I do, I do like Bleu Garters as much as y’all. :) I love the garter named Marilyn and my dream garter… delicate, organic-ish, and embroidered with lace!

  37. avatar Jillian reply

How beautiful. I’d love to win the Victoria garter in antique gold/purple to wear on my wedding day!

  38. avatar Kelly reply

I do declare these are the prettiest garters I’ve ever seen! My favorite would have to be Venice in Dark Silver! Let me just say I’d have to have a tossing garter as well or I’d start a new tradition of asking for the garter back… and that just wouldn’t be very southern lady-like of me!

  39. avatar Martha L. reply

I adore the Victoria. It is so gorgeous and completely different than any garter I have every imagine wearing. Wearing something that beautiful makes me understand better why brides would even want to wear a garter!

  40. avatar Tara reply

I love the look of Gardenia I. My dream garter would be similar to the Gardenia I, except it would have a tier of fabric on it to mimic the style of my dress. The bottom of my dress has three tiers of fabric, each with a lace border on it. I think it would great to have a garter that coordinated so well with my dress.

  41. avatar Deborah reply

The Versailles in silver is absolutely beautiful! The Mary in White is gorgeous as well! I’m getting married in March and this would be fantastic!

  42. avatar Mandy reply

I know there was this many choices out there for garters, so I loved their website! I like too many of them to decide, but if I had to make up my mind, I think I like the “Isabella in white” the best. I love the lace and pearl details and it would complement my beautiful dress so perfectly!

  43. avatar Angela Morgan reply

I love the Venice style! My dream garter would have lots and lots of lace.

  44. avatar Ashley reply

Forget-me-not is definitely a favorite, but I’m going to have to go with Mary in white. I’m finding that the women in my family didn’t do a great job of keeping heirlooms or special momentos from their weddings to pass on to me, so I’m trying to select items with meaning for my upcoming nuptuals to pass on to my (future!) daughters. Why Mary? It’s my grandmother’s name, who just so happens to be one of my favorite people on Earth!

  45. avatar Natalia reply

I was instantly drawn to the Victoria antique gold/purple garter. It is insanely beautiful!

  46. avatar bella reply

    Femme Fatale is stunning!

  47. avatar Genevieve reply

It seems each and every garter is fit for a particular personality. My favorite is Mary in Champagne, though they are all captivating!

  48. avatar Amber reply

I love the Ooh La La in black. Super sexy and unexpected! My dream garter would have vintage lace, beading, and a ribbon with a big bow.

  49. avatar Megan reply

Oh my gracious, they are all so delicate and exquisite. I love the simple elegance of Elizabeth in Champagne [maybe it’s something about the name, that is my middle name ;) ]
but I love how FUN the Sapphire garter is! The Sapphire would definitely be great for pictures (it would show better than the Elizabeth) I think if my man could have his way, there would be some Orange and White or a Power T on my garter… oh SEC how do you manage to work your way into every part of my life? oh well.. go vols!

  50. avatar Ana T reply

My favorite is Venice in Dark Silver! It is just gorgeous! My dream garter would have lace and a little bling so its classy! :)

  51. avatar Quynh reply

My personal pick would be the white hot tamale. I love the simplicity of it and it would go great with my all white wedding. my dream garter would have a little bit of everything. It should be sexy yet classy.

  52. avatar Kalea H reply

Oh, I just love Bleu Garters! I have had them saved on my computer for ages. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Monaco in light blue. I love the bit of sparkle and the blue color for my “something blue”! Great giveaway!

  53. avatar Nicole W. reply

Why haven’t I heard of Bleu Garters until now? The Victoria in antique gold/purple makes my heart flutter just as much if not more than my wedding dress itself! So feminine and gorgeous and I love the hint of lilac. Hands down, this is my dream garter but with silver beading instead of antique gold.

  54. avatar Sydney reply

These garters are classy, sexy, eloquent and sassy- all the makings of a southern woman! I adore the “Forget-me-not” style because it embodies all of the qualities mentioned before.

  55. avatar Dina reply

Bleu garters are so lovely! I adore the Mary in Champagne

  56. avatar dorothy reply

I love the Marie in black; it is delicate and beautiful. It would be fun to wear something this beautiful and unexpected under my dress on my wedding day!

  57. avatar Melissa W reply

I love the Monaco in silver. Its not too overstated, and I love the open hole design. The shine gives it that touch of glitz to make it perfect!

  58. avatar Jenn reply

the Victoria is my absolute favorite! i would love it in yellow and gray because those are my wedding colors but maybe with a few hints of blue to act as the something blue. i think a bride should feel completely sexy on their wedding day and these garters would definitely make a girl feel sexy! they’re nothing like any garter i’ve ever seen or any garter most people think of. AMAZING!

  59. avatar Rebecca reply

Love the Venice in Light Silver! So soft, feminine, and elegant, but the embellishments make it a little more youthful and fun. I love how it’s able to bridge the gap between timeless and modern so well. Very much my dream garter!

  60. avatar Meissa in MA reply

Something vintage looking, with silver detail, and some glamour. Venice in Dark Silver is great.

  61. avatar Allison reply

The Venice in dark silver is fabulous! I love that they have a “Garter of the Month” and this seems perfect for the time of year. The blue tones and jewels incorporated keep it looking vintage and glamorous. This would definately be my dream piece, incorporated with additional ribbon work or a netted backing.

  62. avatar Elizabeth reply

I adore the Victoria in black. It’s dramatic, romantic, and special for a very special day.

  63. avatar Abbey reply

A difficult choice, but I think Mary in white is my favorite. It’s so elegant and unique – just the style I’m looking for!

  64. avatar Okeoma reply

I love Gardenia III. I think its so precious it would also match my dress beautifully!

  65. avatar LAG reply

I love the Poppy! It would go perfectly with my wedding dress. It’s so unique!

  66. avatar Kathryn O reply

Definitely love the Gardenia III the most. It’s beautiful and intricate…perfect for an equally beautiful and intricate wedding dress! My dream garter is sweet and Southern-like that includes elements from the main attraction: the gown!
