Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

Hello from Charleston! Emily, Sierra and I are here for a wedding this weekend and I’m really excited to get to know the city a little better. Sierra and I made it through the evening drive with the help of some Tootsie Rolls and Wendy’s and now I’m happy to present to you this week’s Round-Up!

In honor of Halloween, Emily put together a Southern Gothic inspiration board with the perfect combination of elegance and the eerie Old South.

This week’s Southern Fab Find reminds me of the best of Southern style — the great mix of pretty dresses and easy-going details. Peach Tree Lane’s jewelry combines all of those things! Go to this post to enter to win a set of their earrings.

We couldn’t help ourselves — there are two giveaways this week! Our favorite Southern bows from V4 are now up for grabs and you have the chance to win five of your choice! Go to this post to enter.

When Southern met Nantucket in this Southern by Design feature, pops of blue and red stole our hearts. This shoot dreamed up by Desiree Spinner and photographed by Trent Bailey brings together the best of the North and South!

Emily’s Southern Spotting induced a growl in my tummy, y’all. Doesn’t this banana pudding in lieu of a wedding cake look delicious?

The next installment of “Emily Plans a Wedding” brought details of her bridemaids’ dresses. We’re totally digging the flowing floor-length inspiration she gathered up!

Southern Hospitality strikes again! This time, Courtney Caplan and Sarah Miller of Caplan Miller Events helped up put together a goodie bag full of Austin’s best.

You’ve seen me and Marissa try to plan our dream wedding and it’s harder than it looks! Now take a gander into what Sierra’s dreaming up for her big day.

This week’s featured Real Wedding Gallery was Heather + Sam. I died over their sweet paper products and gorgeous flowers.

Real Weddings make us happy

Jamie + Dan’s intimate outdoor wedding at the Historic Cedarwood included wildflower and hummingbird details that made us feel right at home. See more of it here and here.

Time for more good news!

Men’s Wearhouse is currently hosting their Well-Dressed Man Facebook contest! Brides, submit a photo of your fiancé looking his best so that Facebook users can “like” their favorite entrant. At the close of the contest on November 17, the photo with the most “likes” will win $2,500 to spend at Men’s Wearhouse! See more details here.

Have you entered our HUGE photo contest yet? Find a V4 and tweet and email us your photos! We can’t wait to see your creative entries! Take a look at some of the competition here.

Have a wonderful weekend, y’all! We’ll see you on Monday!

So you might have heard that Southern Weddings V4 hit newsstands nationwide, and you might have heard we’re running a HUGE photo contest. We’ll let me tell you, we’ve been getting some super fun entries! (I’m especially fond of Betsy + Ashley from Ashley Brooke Designs’ entry below)!

Aren’t they adorable? We’re sure you’ve got a ton of ideas up your sleeve, but we thought it’d be fun to share a little sneak peak of your competition!

Thanks to Ali Peek, Kelly Sauer and Jestinn Bird for showing off their V4s!

Yes ma’am, that is V4 at The Swamp for a Gator game (Boo! Okay, I digress!) and having a tea party! It’s not just our Twitter stream that’s been blowing up with V4 fun; our Facebook fans have been getting in on the action, too!

Think you’ve got what it takes to win this contest? Put on your thinking cap and get creative! Entries are due November 25. We’ll post our favorites and then vote on a winner that week! Remember there are only two rules: you have to tweet your pic(s) to us (@iloveswmag) and then email the same to howdy at iloveswmag.com with the subject line “V4 Photo Contest.” We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Howdy, y’all! Thank you so much for bearing with us as we upgrade our site to bring you constant wedding-awesome! We’ve been busy bees producing content for you — we’re so excited! Let’s take a look at the round-up!

Emily’s Southern Spotting directed our eyes toward a gorgeous gardenia bouquet. The Southern bloom was paired with peonies. We think the result is lovely!

We’re brought a party to the blog with a fiesta-inspired color palette! This week’s sunset reds and gulf coast corals matched Emily’s Tex Mex inspiration board and makes us want to salsa all night long.

Even more fiesta flair showed up the blog with the Desiree Dawn inspiration shoot. The bright colors, latin infusions and tropical elements are a fresh take on South Florida wedding style.

August’s Southern Bride of the Month, Alissa, shared the details of her wedding planning and the super-cute story of her engagement to fiance Blake!

We took a trip down memory lane with this week’s featured Real Wedding Gallery. Ashley + Judd had a glamorous and impeccably styled wedding. See it all in their gallery!

This week’s Real Southern Wedding:

High school sweethearts, Meghan + Chris stole our hearts with family-made details, from the quilts to the cake. They even had some farm animals attend! See it here and here.

Don’t you love good news?

One of our awesome sponsors, Minted is now creating business cards! We think they’re perfect for handing out your information to numerous vendors as you plan your wedding. Minted is so excited about the launch that they’re giving away 25 free cards just for registering on their site!

We’re so for our friends at Ashley Brooke Designs, they just launched their pretty new shop! Hurry over and check things out–there’s free shipping if you act fast!

Now let’s end the Round-Up with an awesome photo from Kellie Kano. Way too much fun!

Happy weekend, y’all!
