Friends, it took me two and a half years to order a wedding album. Ugh! You, too? If you’re in the same stalling-and-searching boat, I’ve got great news for you!! Shutterfly has a beautiful wedding photo book offering, and I think it’s just what you’re looking for, you bargain-hunting but aesthetically-gifted gal :) Here are eight reasons I love their premium wedding photo books and think you will, too.

Isn’t this album a beauty? We teamed up with Sarah, a bride whose Texas wedding was featured in our last issue, to create it. She gave the Shutterfly process two thumbs up!

1. The quality is superb. Let’s start here. For lack of a better description, these books feel good: they’re substantial, they’re luxe, and they have all the bells and whistles you want and expect for your one and only wedding album. Starting with…

2. Layflat pages. Boom. That’s disruption, friends! Layflat pages used to only be available in albums ordered from a professional photographer, but no more. With this premium feature, your gorgeous photos can stretch across two pages without interruption from the binding – a hugely luxe feature. All books are printed on double-thick paper, too.

3. The customization options are impressive. Sizes range from 8×8 to 12×12 (we used the 12×12, with an impressive 24″ wingspan, for our wedding book, and the sweet 8×8″ size for our newlywed book). Cover options include two pretty colors of cloth, leather, a hard matte photo, and antique white linen, among others.

4. They’re not too precious. Yep, you heard that right! While the quality is great, you’re not paying so much for a Shutterfly album that you’ll feel like you need to keep it under lock and key, like a friend of mine who paid thousands for her album. Your wedding album is meant to be enjoyed, passed around, and kept out on your coffee table to be admired often!

5. They are ridiculously affordable. Especially compared to albums ordered from professional photographers, especially when you take into accountShutterfly’s ubiquitous coupon codes, and especially when you consider the quality you’re getting for the price.

6. The layout process is simple… Start with a professionally-styled template (which range from super minimal to fun and colorful), choose page layouts within the template, then add or subtract elements to suit your aesthetic. Two of our albums were based on Modern White, an elegant and simple option.

7. …but it can be as complex as you want it to be. The Shutterfly layout tool is extensive and flexible, with tons of page layouts, the ability to tweak those layouts, and great font and color options. Even if you go to town with customization, though, it’s still easy to use!

8. They’ll even design your book for you. What? Yes! Intimidated by the thought of sorting through all your photos and laying out a cohesive design? Try the new Make My Book Service, where a Shutterfly designer will curate your wedding photos and make a beautiful wedding book for you. You’ll pay a $9.99 fee, but only if you end up ordering the book.

Of course, Shutterfly’s premium photo books aren’t just for wedding albums – I had so much fun creating a newlywed life and honeymoon album, too! Think of your wedding photo book as the first volume in a personal library of amazing memories, beautifully captured :)

Now that you know how easy and affordable it is to make a quality wedding photo book, I hope you’ll have one in your home soon! Happy creating, friends!

I think it’s a bit dangerous to hold someone up as a “model wife” – after all, no one’s perfect. But for many people I know, that’s who Sarah Tucker is. Or, if we don’t want to use that term, let’s go with “beloved inspiration” :)

And for good reason – Sarah adores her husband and is not afraid to tell you about it. She’s smart, she’s stylish, she’s a great friend, a gracious hostess, and curates a welcoming home in Florida. It has been a joy to get to know her over the years, so if this is the first time you’ve made her introduction, I’m excited for you! Get ready to be inspired :)

Thanks to Shannon Kirsten for sharing these photos!

The couple: Sarah (33) and JB (35)
Years married: 7
The kiddos: John (4) and Wesley (2)

Tell us a little bit about yourselves. We live in an old colonial home in Palmetto. JB is a financial advisor for Edward Jones, and I’m currently a stay at home mom and blogger. We have two of the sweetest boys in the world and one Boston terrier puppy named Lola.
Tell us your love story in one sentence. I was five and he was seven when we first met, and we’ve pretty much been crushing on each other ever since.

Tell us a little bit about where you live. We bought our house in 2015. I honestly think this is our forever home. I love what our area has to offer, our family is close by, and our neighbors are the sweetest.
Tell us about the process of moving in together. Do you have any tips for blending your two styles? We had a long distance relationship until we were married, so we had no idea what living with one another entailed in the day-to-day sense. We lived abroad for the first two years of our marriage, in tiny apartments with zero style. When we moved back, I was excited to start collecting and decorating. JB is definitely the muscles behind anything I want to do, and he is a good sport about it all. He doesn’t care too much about style, but he does care about function. He has helped me make more practical decisions when it comes to design.

What is your favorite part of being married? Having someone to make the coffee ;) Just kidding…but that is nice! I just love JB. I love sharing my life with him, seeing things through his eyes, and sharing our joy and sorrows TOGETHER.

Which room in your home is your favorite, and why? I love our sleeping porch. We have a sleeping porch swing bed, and I love sitting out there on cool nights with JB and watching the boys be silly.
What most makes your house feel like home? It’s imperfect, just like us. And that is part of what gives it its charm. Our house is a home people can love in, toddlers can be toddlers, and people can spill a glass of wine and no one is going to cry.

Where do you splurge and where do you save when decorating? Our leather couches are the priciest pieces we’ve purchased. Everything else I save on. I love things with a bit of a history, and I prefer shopping at thrift/consignment stores and Goodwill for unique pieces. I also, of course, love Target! I get a ton of inspiration looking through Serena & Lily and Ballard Designs magazines, but rarely buy too much from either.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding? I loved walking down the aisle with my father, and seeing the smiliest JB at the end.
How do you remember your wedding in your home? (Pictures, mementos, etc.) We have pictures of our wedding on the walls and on our bedside table. We also have an oil painting that an artist did of one of Jessica Lorren’s photos.

Which item from your wedding registry do you use the most often? Our cast iron skillet.
Who cooks dinner? We often share in that. I’ll do the salad and sides, and he’ll grill the meat.

What’s your favorite place to find recipes? Real Simple’s Great Food Fast is my all-time favorite.
How does your family handle finances? Do you use a set budget? Finance is in JB’s wheelhouse, so he works the budget. We do talk about finances freely in our home, which I think is important.

What is one small way you love or serve your spouse? I pretty much force anyone within earshot to know what an amazing person he is.
Do you have children? What are your hopes and plans for the future in this area? Yes! We have two darling boys. We do hope to expand our family, but we shall see.
This year, our family is most excited about… Adding a new brother in-law AND a new sister in-law! They are the perfect additions to our family.

If you aren’t already a fan of Sarah’s blog, you’re in for a treat! You can also find her on Instagram and Facebook. Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Ahhhh…. the welcoming Red front door. Just the beginning that opens up to such great taste. Sarah’s style is a statement of warmth both personally and in design

We have a treat for you today, belles! Though we pride ourselves on featuring some of the prettiest weddings in the South, we of course can’t feature ALL of them – and that’s where our blogging friends come in! The gals from Style Me Pretty are here today sharing ten of their all-time favorite Southern weddings, just for y’all. Enjoy! – Emily

Hello, Southern Weddings brides-to-be! I’m Stephanie of Style Me Pretty here to share a dose of inspiration from our pretty pages to yours. At SMP, real weddings are what we truly love, and we couldn’t be more excited to share a handful of our very favorites. A mix of traditional, modern, rustic and whimsical, each one of these celebrations embodies the South in a unique way, designed top to bottom with meaningful details – the heart and soul of every Southern wedding.

Charleston Planation Wedding | I’ve never met a wedding monogram I didn’t love, but this couple took theirs to the next level. A custom designed monogram and crest were carried throughout the entire design, keeping family tradition at the forefront of this Boone Plantation wedding. Photos by Simply Sarah Photography and planning by A Charleston Bride.

Raleigh Parking Garage Wedding | Believe me when I say, you’ve never seen a parking garage wedding quite like this one. With design in the hands of Easton Events, it’s Southern elegance at it’s finest with no detail left untouched. Photos by Corbin Gurkin.

Key West, Florida Wedding | Tropical, nautical, with just a touch of preppy, this oceanside wedding is what happens with you take Southern charm to Key West, Florida. Dressed up in a color palette of muted pastels, you’ll instantly see why we can’t get enough. Photos by Jessica Lorren.

Seaside Chapel Wedding | Be prepared to meet the most charming little white chapel in this Seaside, Florida affair. Gussied up with all white blooms and the softest shades of mint blue, there’s such beauty in its timeless simplicity. Photos by Lauren Kinsey.

Chapel Hill Wedding | Oh, how we love a Southern bride who’s not afraid to make a fashion statement. With a Carolina Herrea gown for her classic black tie wedding day, this bride stole the show in a major way. Photos by Graham Terhune.

Modern Downtown Atlanta Wedding | Southern weddings are all about tradition, but that doesn’t mean they can’t take on a modern flair. This downtown Atlanta wedding pairs sleek and chic style with a cool urban setting and we adore the result. Photos by Sawyer Baird.

Fort Worth, Texas Wedding | This Texas barn wedding first graced our pages back in 2012 and it’s been an editor favorite ever since. Of course, the styling and florals are a rustic bride’s dream, but it’s the couple’s joy-filled love that jumped off the page in every last image. Photos by Ryan Ray and planning by Stefanie Miles.

South Carolina Wedding | If we had to pick one single wedding that embodies everything we love about the South, it would be this one. The white chapel ceremony, the gorgeous oak trees, the bourbon crafted cocktails, and of course, the impeccable styling are just a few of the reasons it stole our hearts. Photos by KT Merry.

Pink Duke Gardens Wedding | As an ode to the bride’s Kentucky upbringing, you’ll find no shortage of Southern-inspired details throughout this Duke Gardens wedding day. Guests sipped Mint Julep cocktails while the couple toasted to their years of love ahead. Photos by Callie Davis of Nancy Ray Photography and planning by Erin McLean Events.

Classic Charleston Wedding | Charleston is home to so many of our favorite Southern weddings, and it’s easy to see why. With history and charm tucked around every corner, it makes the perfect backdrop for a classic celebration just like this one. Photos by Ryan Ray and planning by A Charleston Bride.
