Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

I’m keeping this week’s round-up short and sweet, because there’s a lot going on around here! We’re so excited to be have sent V8 off to the printers for proofs yesterday, all while preparing for Bridal Market, planning our launch party (save the date for November 12!), and lots more. We know this season is busy for y’all too, which is exactly why we planned Cozy Fall to help us unwind and simplify so we can enjoy the season–check out the #CozyFallYall hashtag for loads of inspiration!

In case you missed it this week…

We gave a little video peek at our new Wedding Day Journal, plus some V8 updates.
We revisited one of our favorite autumnal editorials from our archives, Honey and Pecan.
Our blogger bride, Jessica, let us in on the details of her Tennessee venue search.
We loved hearing our readers’ favorite things about marriage in Sweet Tea Sunday.

Liz and Jim: Ruffly blooms, a brunch reception, and syrup favors in Washington DC.
Lindsay and Josh: Carousel portraits, hometown-inspired details, and a custom ketubah in Louisiana.
Mallory and Alex: A lakefront venue, Derby glasses, and a checkered dance floor in Kentucky.
Jessica and Michael: Pink peonies, a sparkly gown, and a garden reception in Texas.

Have a wonderful weekend, and congrats to anyone getting married!

If you’ve been following along on Instagram (and #MakingSouthernWeddings!), you already know that this week and next week are huge for us–we’re finishing Southern Weddings V8, once and for all. Earlier this week, we took a little break from edits and layout to do a live stream video update, sharing a detailed look into our newest Southern Weddings Shop product, the Wedding Day Journal, and an update on V8. It’s a little bit silly and super casual, but we shared lots of fun things, so if you missed it, take a peek below!

P.S. Skip to 1:30 if you don’t want to watch us figuring out our technical difficulties :)

I love this live stream! You guys totally sold me on the journal! I can’t wait to buy this as a little pressie for all my girls who just got engaged (and maybe for myself too). Good luck with V8, can’t wait!

For today’s Cozy Fall revisit, we’re throwing it back to Southern Weddings V5 and one of our favorite transitional fall shoots: Honey & Pecan. As we did researched these two humble and very Southern elements, we got more and more inspired. Because, you see, the word pecan comes from an Algonquian word meaning “the nut that requires a stone to crack.” That toughness and durability, paired with the sweetness of honey, seemed to us like the perfect recipe for a strong marriage.

Big hugs to Blue Ribbon Vendor Melissa Schollaert for these beautiful images!
