{Gandy Photographers} wowed us with this unique Southern affair! This couple gracefully weaved their diverse backgrounds into one lovely and vibrant celebration. The color, culture, and traditions must have been such a treat for all the guests! I love the stunning rose arrangements which add a surprising punch of color when placed in the flower beds.  What a great idea!  More details to come in Part II…  ~Rachel

Tell us about your ceremony.. We had an Indian and Western Ceremony on the same day. We wanted to equally celebrate both of our traditions. Plus, it was more fun this way.
What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome while planning your wedding? It was challenging coordinating two very different types of ceremonies and having them flow seamlessly into one another.
Where there any special family traditions you included in the wedding?
Deepak’s family is from southern India, and the style of Indian
ceremony we chose was very particular to them – simple, short and very
personal.
What colors did you choose for your wedding?  We chose largely jewel tones; red, yellow and gold.
How did the two of you meet?  We are both from Valdosta and had mutual friends. We instantly connected the first time we saw each other – years before we formally met.
Describe your engagement: It was a very special moment in my late mother’s flower garden.
What attracted me to my husband was:  His smile, his wittiness, his creativity.
What attracted me to my wife was:  She’s the most charming person I’ve ever met.
A date we went on that we’ll always remember:  The first date when I moved to Atlanta, we ate at what became my favorite restaurant and then went to a tiny movie theater tucked away in a cute little neighborhood. We watched Amelie alone; the whole theater to ourselves.

It was an awe-inspiring, fairytale wedding on a beautiful southern summer day. The grand invitation gave us a hint of the meticulous attention to detail with comprehensive maps to the venue and suggestions for convenient places to stay overnight for the out of town guests. As we approached the wedding location, we could see the flowers, the decorations, and the enormous pavilion that was built for this purpose. It was evident that this was going to be an unforgettable evening! The bride looked like an Indian princess, with her natural beauty, incredible attire and with an expression of serenity on her face. The bridegroom looked handsome and together they made a fantastic couple to behold. It was heartwarming to observe the two different ceremonies that wove together two fantastic cultures into the tapestry of life by the love of two people for each other and their families. The wedding vows were exchanged amidst the incredible splendor, surrounded by an enchanted audience. As the ceremonies ended, it was with an expectation of more to come, that we moved to the pavilion where the reception and dinner were arranged. What met our eyes were breathtaking flower arrangements and exquisite, skillfully pleated awnings that gave an aura of magnificence. The delicious appetizers were followed by a sumptuous feast and an array of desserts that left us spellbound. Of course, the party had only begun! All eyes turned to the couple as they took their first steps together to perform their wedding dance. As each of the friends and relatives started to share their experiences with the bride of the groom, it was evident that they were a very unique and extraordinary couple indeed. And the party went on… and on… past midnight and into the early morning hours… as the enthralled guests continued to enjoy the most captivating and memorable wedding we have been witness to.

The intimate ceremony was lovingly organized and all details were given careful attention from the mandap to food to the rocking reception. The flower arrangements were beautiful and elegant second only to the blushing bride and groom’s elated smile was the icing on the cake.

The wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect for a couple so deeply in love. As I stood with Susan moments before she walked down the aisle, she was struck by the magnitude of what lay ahead of her, and some happy tears were shed. Deepu, always in control, couldn’t hide his emotions as he saw Susan approaching him to become his bride, and every person in attendance could surely feel their love. The blend of cultures was seamless, and a celebration like no other followed the ceremonies. Every aspect of the reception was carefully laid out – from the awe inspiring flowers, to the delicious food & drink..there was even a children’s corner so parents could relax while the kids played. Even after the guests left, we stayed until the wee hours of the morning – almost until dawn!- because no one wanted the experience to end.It was a wonderful day and I was honored to be a part of it. No other couple deserves more happiness than Deepu and Susan!

It was a true international wedding of the decade. The bride looked beautiful and gorgeous, the bridegroom looked immaculate. Some guests were dressed in traditional colorful Indian dresses and other guests were dressed in formal western dresses. The flower arrangements were awesome. The atmosphere was festive and heart warming. There were variety of drinks and the food was mouth watering. It was a classic " east meets west " wedding that will be remembered for ages and it will never be replicated.

Brooke + Tim’s wedding is the epitome of beach chic.  This couple did things their own way, proving that shoes and socks are not necessary for a stunning event.  Jennifer from {It’s a Shore Thing}, created this easy, breezy event with some unique details (I will always be a sucker for flowing ribbons!).  The cheery bouquets of orchids, roses, and sweet peas were done by {Celestine’s}. The ceremony was held on the beach with reception on the {Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort}{Rae Leytham Photography} was kind enough to share these images with us.  Thanks, Rae and Wes!  For more of Brooke + Tim’s big day, visit Leytham’s beautiful {BLOG}.  Wishing you fun in the sun~ Rachel

Kate + Luke had a perfect summer wedding. The talented {Megan W} took these wonderful photos. From Megan: “I just loved the simplicity of the whole day. There were plenty of well thought-out details in this wedding, but they were more like lovely, subtle touches that
just kept the emphasis on the real importance of the day. The ceremony and
reception were held on the hillside of a family friend’s land that overlooked a
breathtaking valley of Wisconsin countryside. Simply put, Kate and Luke’s
wedding was laid back, comfortable, and inviting, filled with laughter and love.
To note a couple favorite details of the day, I’d choose the handpicked
wildflowers from the fields that were used for center pieces, and the
modern/vintage style of the bridal party wardrobe.”

Thank you so much, Megan, for sharing this wedding with us! (And a very special thanks to {Cathy + David Photography} for introducing us to Megan!) To see more of Kate + Luke’s sweet summer fete, check out Megan’s {BLOG}. Enjoy~ Rachel

I am obsessing over this wedding. The colors are beautiful and everything seems so calming and fresh. The bride looks divine and the simplicity of her dress really completes the look perfectly. When I see the photo of the first kiss, I get that "take a deep breath and take it all in" feeling. Great feature!
