Southern Weddings Weekly Round-Up

by in Main on

After another fun photo shoot on Wednesday, we’re both really excited to get V5 on stands for y’all and a little tired from resisting the urge to try on every pretty wedding dress that came in. I think we all need the weekend to recuperate from that effort :)

I think a Southern Delicacy like some Boiled Peanuts is on the menu for next week. Team meeting snack food, anyone?

Summer in the South
means really good music, right? We asked for your help rounding up the best music festivals the South has to offer.

With just a few weeks until she says, “I do,” Emily walks us through her DIY experiences and offers some practical advice for incorporating those projects into your own big day.

What do YOU love about the South
? Do y’all like deviled eggs like Emily does? We’re asking y’all for help as we prep V5 for it’s debut on news stands! Leave your answer here.

Sit a spell
with Marissa and she walks you through her (fairly unconventional and often hilarious) day as our Ad Director.

We love Real Weddings!

Liz + Brett’s New Orleans wedding left us positively smitten. A passed-down vintage veil, second line and monogrammed tambourines spell out a good time! See it here.

Ali + Austin created a joyful wedding filled with moments that will have you reaching for the tissues! See it here.

Nicole + Rob’s barn wedding was a preppy take on the rustic setting. We love their green and blue color palette and Nicole’s stunning bridal portraits! See it here.

Caitlyn + John’s barn wedding incorporates one of my favorite colors and boasts an elegant reception setup. See it here.

Before you go, take a look a Kelly + Drew’s darling wedding! Y’all might remember Kelly as June’s Southern Bride of the Month with a killer pink and green inspiration board. Weren’t you dying to see how it all turned out? See more from their big “I do’s” on Kristine Neeley’s blog!

Have a fun weekend, friends!

I know summer just started, but I already feel like it’s moving too fast! July is just a few days away y’all! I’m heading to Virginia this weekend for waterside fun, music, parades and crab races. What are you up to?

After shining the spotlight on the Kentucky Hot Brown in our Southern Delicacies post, we’re all looking to plan a field trip to Louisville.

Summer in the South
ain’t nothin’ without a few barbecues! We rounded up the essentials for a weekend cookout in our next installment of our Summer in the South series.

Ceremonies are the part of weddings that stick to our hearts most dearly, so Emily’s back with more details about hers. This week, it’s all about music and readings! Read more here.

We want YOU in Southern Weddings V5! If you’ve read our Sweet Tea Society manifesto, you know what we believe. Now tell us what you believe and you might be published in our next issue! See details here.

Banana pudding is a Southern Delicacy we’ve yet to tackle, but Emily’s Southern Spotting will hold us over until Marissa can indulge us with the history!

Days in the Southern Weddings office are often packed with gorgeous wedding images, print prep and sweet tea. Spend the day with me in our Sit a Spell series.

Real Weddings make us smile

Samantha + John’s casual wedding was full of community-made charm. We love how their lakefront “I do’s” reminded us of their cute proposal story. See it here.

Ellie + Breck’s wedding weekend was full of Southern events to greet their far-traveling guests. We love how they achieved a homey feel. See it here.

Christine + Josh’s summer nuptials have us swooning over the classic details. Their chalkboard family tree is amazing! See it here.

Before you go, take a look at this adorable photo shoot Anna Paschal Photography did for her V5 ad! (New office mascot? I think so.) We can’t wait to see the finished product in print! Vendors, want in on the V5 action? Email marissa {at} iloveswmag.com to join the family!

Let’s give a shoutout (and giant hugs) to all the belles and beaus out there who are saying “I do” this weekend, including our Southern Bride Blogger, Kelsey. Congratulations, y’all!

Have an amazing weekend, friends!

I love the feeling that Friday brings around. You look back on the week and feel productive, but you look forward to the weekend as a wonderful reward for getting up early five days in a row (really a feat for some of us) and cranking your mind cogs. This weekend, I plan on painting a wall on my apartment and reading a few good books on my balcony. What are your plans?

For our new readers, we want to welcome you to the Southern Weddings world! Take a look around our site and our features in Emily’s fab tour.

June’s Southern Bride of the Month, Kelly, is a woman with an infectious enthusiasm for all things wedding! Her pink and green plans are too adorable.

Marissa is back with our Sit a Spell series and dreaming up a citrus bridal shower for me using my favorite color, orange!! Who else is drooling over her juicy ideas?

We love Real Weddings!

Mariangelix + Steven rocked our socks off with their colorful, vintage wedding and surprise bowling alley reception! See it all here.

Jillian + Marcus’s barn wedding combined the tried-and-true elements we love with uniquely Southern details. See it here.

Sigrid + Bart’s pink wedding was a huge family effort. We love that S + B tied the knot at her family’s home! See it here.
