Category: Sponsor Love

Who’s ready for spring?  Only twenty more days!  In the meantime, we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to a few of our newest sponsors.  We couldn’t do what we do without them, and even more than that, we really believe in their work and want to share it with you.  We hope you’ll take a moment to visit their sites, say hello, and send them a little SW love!

One of my favorite things about the Florida husband and wife team behind Astrid & Rene Fine Art Photography is that they really care about who they associate with.  One of the first things they asked Katharine, who handles all of our advertising, was whether we “screened” our advertisers — they wanted to be a part of a handpicked community, not just another name in our sidebar.  Luckily for both of us, we do, and they are!  And on top of that, they’re artistic and passionate, trained in both photojournalistic and traditional photography styles, and experts at delivering “service that will make you feel giddy!”  You can visit their site here.

One of the questions on Aesthetic Floral’s website is “Are you ready to dream the unimaginable?”  I love that!  Aesthetic’s two principal designers truly can bring your dreams to life, and they have the personalities to prove it: one is a San Francisco native with a modern, minimalist approach to design, and the other is a true Southern belle with a flair for glamour and high luxury.  Aesthetic Floral and Event Artistry is based in Atlanta but happy to travel.  You can visit their site right here and their galleries here.

Besides being impressively talented photographers, the team behind David Murray Weddings is one of the nicest you’ll ever meet.  Their style is classic and timeless, with all the spontaneous goodness of the photojournalistic wave.  And their black and white images are divine!  Bonus!  David Murray Weddings isn’t just for Southern brides and grooms: they shoot in Atlanta, Boston, and Kennebunkport regularly, and are happy to travel to wherever else your wedding might be taking place.  You can visit their site here and their blog here!

For a crafty gal like myself, Origin Crafts is about as good as it gets.  They stock everything needed to detail your wedding ceremony or reception, from apothecary jars to woven ottomans to a huge selection of paper lanterns and string lights.  I particularly like that you can search for items by theme, including “Beach,” “French Country,” and “Tuscan.”  Visit their site here!

When you’re in the market for a photographer, it’s important to remember that you’re not just hiring talent, you’re hiring a team who’s going to be with you throughout your wedding day.  I know I would want someone sweet and funny, but at the same time super organized and on top of the goings-on. Beach Bum Photography is all that and a bag of chips.  Husband and wife team Jessica and David are based in Florida and specialize in fun, colorful images.  Visit their site here!

Hope you’re having a fabulous Tuesday, y’all, and we promise real weddings will be back tomorrow!

Since we’re still feeling the love from Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d extend the warm and gooey feelings to a few of our newest sponsors.  We couldn’t do what we do without them, and even more than that, we really believe in their work and want to share it with you.  We hope you’ll take a moment to visit their sites and send them a little SW love.

Project Wedding is a community of people who love to talk about weddings and share advice.  It’s known for its bride-generated vendor recommendations and reviews, a one-stop, uber-organized index of rants and raves from across the web.  They also have a nifty blog, a DIY section where experts from outside the wedding world (like Jordan of Oh Happy Day! and Chelsea of {frolic}) share projects, and an awesome sister site, Weddingbee!  Check out their site here, their blog here, and their reviews here.

John Bamber Photography takes some of the loveliest black and white images I’ve ever seen.  Their use of light and layering is great, and the joy they gets from what they do is evident in their site and blog.  John and Lindsey are a husband-and-wife team (cool!) with complementary personalities and shooting styles, and they are based in Dayton, TN but willing to travel.  See their blog here and site here!

I hadn’t checked out the work of husband and wife photo team Davina + Daniel in a while, but when I opened up their website to format this post, I was truly blown away.  Their work is intimate, fun, beautifully composed while still feeling fresh and photojournalistic.  Davina + Daniel are based in Montreal but love traveling for weddings of all stripes.  Check out their blog here and their site here!

It’s not hard to write something nice about Laura Hooper Calligraphy, but I almost don’t feel like I have to — her work speaks for itself!  Her precise + girlish script is instantly recognizable; it adds the perfect touch to the invitations, maps, and totes on her site.  You can check out her three tiers of styles here and her blog here!

Blossom Accents designs and illustrates artistic handmade wedding invitations and coordinating accessories (think save the dates, seating cards, thank you cards, favor cards…). Owner Agnes’ fun, colorful designs are pretty enough to make you forget about the hours that must go into crafting these lovelies!  Check out her site here and blog here.

Hope you’re having a fabulous Tuesday, y’all!

We’re back with more love for the beyond-awesome sponsors of Southern Weddings magazine!  We’ve gotten a lot of great feedback about the November issue, but one thing we were thrilled to hear was how much everyone loved the ads this time.  We couldn’t agree more: the newest issue is dotted with some truly beautiful ads and we are so grateful to be working with these talented vendors!  Thank you to each of our advertisers who helped make this issue a little more fabulous:

Coren Moore

Finally!  A brides and maids collection for the true Southern bride!   Classic shapes in fresh, fun colors and ultra-Southern fabrics (think seersucker, eyelet and silk shantung) make the Coren Moore frocks an easy choice for oceanfront ceremonies and sophisticated soirees alike.  We loved the Coren Moore brides + maids collection so much, we just had to feature their frocks in our fabulous WaterColor feature.  Peruse the entire Coren Moore line here!

Rae Leytham Photography

SW loves us some Rae Leytham Photography – so much so that we made sure to feature their work in our premier issue!  A husband and wife duo defying the typical photographer stereotype, Wes + Rae Leytham have photographed weddings from Hawaii to Savannah to beautiful upstate New York.  Famous for the energy they bring to every wedding, Wes +Rae have worked diligently to develop a skill that uses cameras and lighting to make their images works of art.  Make sure you check out their website here and follow their ultra-fun blog here!

Ann Whittingon Events

Ann Whittington’s slogan – Events for Rockstars, Royalty and You – says it all!  A twenty-year veteran of the hospitality industry with planning and managerial experience at The Ritz Carlton, The Lancaster Hotel and Brennan’s Restaurant, Ann Whittington has produced events for European royalty, heads of state, and sports and stage celebrities, and now she’s ready to plan your wedding!  What makes Ann among the best in the business is her unique ability to match the style of an event to her clients’ personalities.  Learn more about Ann’s services and design inspiration here!

Nine Photography

Next we have Nine Photography, based out of Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin.  Their blog, talk sweet, is a fun read and really shows how well they get to know their couples.  Visit it here and their website here!  See our previous post about Nine Photography here.

Lo Boheme

Based out of a 1920’s bungalow in San Diego, California, Lo Boheme specializes in one-of-a-kind accessories.  Offering both custom and ready-to-wear pieces to an international clientele through their online shop, Lauren (“Lo”) and Josh Christensen create unique yet wonderfully wearable hairpieces that quickly become family treasures.  Check out Lo + Josh’s sweetly sophisticated collection here or find the perfect accessory for your big day in their etsy shop!

Brooke Schwab Photography

We like Brooke Schwab Photography.  A lot.  Modern, romantic and emotional, Brooke Schwab’s style is a SW and fan favorite alike.   (A quick peek at her website and blog quickly shows why!)  To learn more about Brooke and her amazing work, visit our first Sponsor Love post here.

Shelby Peaden Events

Shelby is one of the sweetest, most capable planners you will ever have the pleasure of working with.  We should know – she was a lifesaver at the WaterColor shoot for our November issue!  Every time we needed something (paperclip, plastic bag, pair of scissors…) the item in question always seemed to materialize in the well-stocked trunk of her car!  We know she would be even more prepared on your wedding day.  Shelby is based in Pensacola, FL and available for both full planning and day-of coordination.
